    311 is the best band ever, excluding NOBODY.
    Getting Tim Mahoney to do an hour interview just secured Melissa Joan Hart a very special seat next to God in Heaven. 🙏🙏🙏

    I’m one of the “mega-fans” since way back and Tim is one of the reasons that I picked up a guitar 25+ years ago, and I’ve had the honor of meeting him on a couple different occasions. I’ve met quite a few other well-known musicians over the years, and Tim is/was hands-down the kindest, most genuine and down-to-earth out of all of them. Not a bit of “rock star” ego, whatsoever.
    Tim’s the real deal. 🙏🖤

    You never see miT interviewed like this. Thanks so much for bringing him in and sharing it with us.

      It's so refreshing to see him and hear him just talk naturally about normal stuff. I could go the rest of my life without hearing another music-related interview with Nick Hexum saying the same things to the same questions he's been asked for the past 30 years. More down-to-earth miT content, please!

    Hi Tim! I most recently saw 311 in March 2022 at the Fillmore in Charlotte, North Carolina and it was undoubtedly my best concert experience ever! Afterward, I was lucky to be given your set list. Fast forward about an hour when I realized that one of your guitar picks has been stuck to the black tape! Only making it more exciting was the fact that 5 months prior, at the tender age of 52, I had purchased a beautiful Breedlove acoustic guitar from a musician friend and begun learning to play it. I learned the chords A,D,E, G and (sometimes) C using my lucky, pink, Tim Mahoney guitar pick! Needless to say, the 311 logo wore off pretty quickly and our pick was eventually retired to the collection that adorns my guitar, along with others from some of my favorite guitarists. They are with me not only in homage but also as a type of sympathetic magic whose energy I absorb with every note.
    Thank you!
    Looking forward to next time and, excitedly yours,
    Lelia B

    So glad to see this interview with Tim Mahoney. My favorite guitarist of all-time, of my favorite band. And funny enough, my daughter just got a dog and his name is Tucker too!

    In Melissa’s punny intro of today’s guest, she said that he was probably in our lives whether we knew it or not, and it’s true! Although the name Tim Mahoney didn’t ring a bell for me, I definitely knew who he was after it was revealed that he was the guitarist in the band that sang “Amber” on the “50 first dates” soundtrack. What I found most impressive, is how long 311 has been together (over three decades!) because that kind of longevity is a testament to each member’s commitment to the band, ability to grow as a unit, and their infinite well of creativity. In addition to industry-related topics (how 311 chooses playlists for each city, for example), more delicate topics such as suicide came up (thank you Melissa for recognizing the need to post a resource for those struggling), as well as everyday life issues including how band members’ kids can’t tour with them because they have school. I became particularly riveted by the conversation when Tim mentioned that his kids were getting old enough to be away from their mom because I have never been separated from my own daughters, and the oldest is almost three. Amanda gave some great tips about the “progressive dinners” that her husband organizes when she’s away, so I’ll have to show my husband this episode because I think this is one that he would enjoy and could learn something from.

    Sucks that Pnut is leaving the band.. Been jamming these guys since the mid-90's.. Was at the first 311 Day at State Palace in 2000.. My kids grew up listening. All good things come to an end I suppose.

    • @CodyRasmussenViking311

      P-nut is not lwaving the band. He's clearly stated that he's taking a break but by no means breaking up the band.

    • @COSpecV420
      @COSpecV420 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CodyRasmussenViking311 Read between the lines.. Of course he's not going to make a big stink about it. But he clearly stated that he was unhappy with events and things going on in his instagram live update. Chad said some things that he obviously didn't like or agree with. I think Pnut "takes a break" next year and just never comes back. Just my feeling based on his attitude and the verbiage used.

    • @CodyRasmussenViking311
      @CodyRasmussenViking311 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@COSpecV420 I respectfuly disagree. I just don't see Pnut throwing away 32 years of friendship, brotherhood, creation and detication to the 311 community over some political disagreements. I could be wrong but i just don't see it that way.

    • @COSpecV420
      @COSpecV420 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CodyRasmussenViking311 I'm not saying that they won't still be friends.. but 32 years is a long time! People change. Ideas and thought process changes. It's like having 4 spouses in a band together. Lol. I think Pnut is just tired of the constant touring, and he said the stuff happening is making him angry. He's bringing it home to his family, which he doesn't like. So, I hope I'm wrong, but that seems about as graceful of an exit as one can make (without tarnishing friendships or throwing away a life's work).

    • @ChopAndBrew

      I agree, next year will be the final year, and as a lifelong fan I am fine with that if it's best for the guys. It's been a fun time.
