Very similar to confinement for Chinese! For us its either 28 days or 42 days! No ice no shower no going out, must wear socks eat healthy no salt, shower with herb hahaha. FYI many Chinese also hired Malay confinement lady to urut, tungku, get rid wind and milk ducts etc. I did it back then too, its so good hahaha
I never had this. I would have LOVED this! I would not have gone out. I would have just taken it ALL! Western society has much to learn. We are soooo depleted. Love the pantang tradition.

Yes, mommy can start planning to hire Confinement lady in her first trimester. Start kumpul duit tabung on your own. Otherwise can get support from the husband. Because the price is not cheap, but please believe, the Pantang journey gonna be easy and fun. Hire for urut, tungku, sauna and food as well. Some confinement lady will buy the fish and veges. They cook for 2 meals. Lunch and Dinner. You only need to prepare your breakfast which is quite easy. I've learn this on my second child. And I strongly recommend to get Confinement lady at least for 7 days. Time to get pampered!!!! No more stress especially new mommy. You can pantang in your house.

I read Korean women also have a tradition of not allowing themselves to get cold after birth. It supposedly can cause life long health issues if you don’t properly get pampered after childbirth?

🤩 very interesting. My parents are Somali but I grew up and had my children in the US. In Somalia 40 days are the norm as well but not the case here. I kid you not, I went out to go get last minute things for my first born after only 36 hours. I drove my own car to do this. After 3 days I took my baby in a stroller and we went for a coffee date at Starbucks. I would die if I had to stay at home for 40 days 😂

Min 1:48 cannot had ice.. sy berpantang sendiri.. jaga diri sendiri. Mandi air sejuk, x sapu minyak panas di kaki. Masak sendiri.. all sendiri.. semua ok, but .. nak masuk hari ke 40/44.. maybe that day byk sgt main air, kebetulan sakit perut.. air kena kaki lama sgt.. tiba2 kaki rasa x selesa.. rasa menyucuk di kaki.. n demam, rasanya DEMAM URAT. Sakit urat di bahu sbb bf baby kerap smbil baring.. so jika anda berkemampuan,cari lah org jaga u.. dpt sedia air pnas utk mandi pun its will better.. i susah masa tu.. nak mengurut pun berkira2 duit sbb byk lg keperluan perlu didahulukan..so sad bila ingat balik.. bila dah sakit mcm sekarang.. diri sndiri juga y susah

Me too.. lps tukar2 guna bengkung dr murah smpai yg plg mahal pun.. only sajat's brand yg ada saiz yg sesuai dan bila duduk dia x tergulung.. syg sgt i punya bengkung hilang.. smpai skrg x dpt ganti..

Actually u can shower and wash your hair once a week or once every 2 weeks but with ginger water.. tapi tu pun cannot mandi lama² 😂 U can definitely wipe yourself down everyday with a warm damp towel..
Doctor cakap boleh minum ice and boleh mandi boleh makan anything yang sehat dan tak allergy
