      I looked into the launch you’re trying to shoot. It’s 1:49 am which means your shoot will be entirely different than those SpaceX tests that involved twilight phenomenon. You won’t get what you see in this video with your launch. The sun will be long gone and the upper atmosphere will be dark. I didn’t have to do any post work other than changing some contrast. Good luck!

    Had a beautiful version from my house about 50 miles from the Cape. Unfortunately all I had was a crap potato phone camera to record it. It is about 100X the show of a standard launch though. From my house we could see the initial slowing burn coming back down through the atmosphere, but the final burn onto the pad is way too far below our viewing horizon (trees at about 100 yards). This is spectacular, but in person it is moreso, like most everything else.

      No it’s the sunlight reflecting on the exhaust gases, since it’s in the twilight time period, the sun can reflect off the high up gases while not being visible on earth

    • @joeshmoe4207
      @joeshmoe4207 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @UShallKnow Have you seen sunset near mountains? You can see that the bottom of the mountain gets darker before the top because the top is higher up and therefore the sun has to set further below the horizon for it to be dark. This means that you can have it being dark on the ground but for example, clouds in the upper atmosphere still being illuminated. You’ve probably seen this before where it’s gotten dark, but the clouds are orange and purple. Just extrapolate this idea to something that’s flying higher than the clouds. It will be illuminated by the sun while the ground is still dark. If you wanna learn more about this, it’s called the twilight effect.

    • @joeshmoe4207
      @joeshmoe4207 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @UShallKnow I was interested, so I calculated when the sunset was for different altitudes from that location in Los Angeles.
      All times calculated in Pacific Daylight Time
      (For some reason all these times are highlighted in blue, they are not timestamps in the video.)
      Time of liftoff 7:21:28 PM
      Elevation Sunset Time
      100m 6:30
      500m 6:32
      1000m 6:34
      2000m 6:36
      10000m 6:46
      30000m 6:85
      50000m 7:07
      70000m 7:14
      80000m 7:17
      The trail started being visible when the altitude was somewhere around 70 km up looking at the webcast and other people’s videos.
      This seems to match up with the time the sun would start to shine on the rocket and the exhaust.
      This actually has a term, called Twilight Phenomenon, and it happens when a rocket is launched around 30-60 min before sunrise or after sunset.

    • @joeshmoe4207
      @joeshmoe4207 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @UShallKnow You know you can check what time the sun set on a given day, right? I did check that, guess what? It was at 6:28 pm.... why didn’t you check before you commented. Also, if you think they’re faking the whole thing, why would they fake their landing cameras going out? Wouldn’t it make more sense to just pretend that they worked?
      For someone who seems to care about truth, you have a disturbing disregard for it when trying to ‘score’ internet points...

    • @joeshmoe4207
      @joeshmoe4207 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
