  • Created by the Storm Trysail Foundation, the Safety at Sea video series serves as a resource for sailors. Normally, reserved for Safety at Sea Seminar participants, the Storm Trysail Club is releasing these videos to the public now for sailors to watch and learn while they are self-quarantining. New video every Friday!

An exercise to few practice. This presentation is well produced and very informative. I have been looking for a device to lift a disabled person aboard and the Lifesling seems to fit the need. I subscribe!

This is terrific. You went out and did all this. (TH-cam videos where someone just repeats what they learned in their textbook is not helpful. What I've found is that a lot of How To's are based on doing something for the first time. I've learned a great deal more watching a skilled person doing something even if they aren't the least bit articulate.)
I've made a written a step by step from your video to help me remember the steps. I strongly advise doing this (using your images) and request that the Storm Trysail Club does this. (I won't post my how to because I've only done this a couple of times using a life jacket as the MOB, so I claim no expertise - except as a learner and a teacher.)

Seems very thorough, good job! The only thing I would add is that at night and without visual contact with the MOB, you have to be quiet once in a while and listen for any yells or whistles from the MOB. This might mean turning off the engine occasionally.

Way to unrealistic. How about two old cruisers on a boat...? then what is the process?
