About #8. It didn't have super strong effect back when the episode just came out. At first, it even helped the Mormons. But in the last few years it became more relevant. The thing is, that episode portrayed Joseph Smith "translating" the Book of Mormon with help of the Seer Stone placed in the hat. Most Mormons, including missionaries, didn't know about that. Up until ~2009, "the church" taught that the translation was done in a less ridiculous way. I.e. South Park told the truth about "the only true church of God" years before "the church".

If Ed Sheeren was so traumatized, dye your hair! People say once we die our hair it never returns to its natural colour, which is false, and guys who keep their hair short, the dye would grow out within a couple of hair cuts based on how much more often guys cut their hair - typically- compaired to most women overall, with frequency of hair cuts!
i believe with utmost certainty that the church of scientology deliberately caused harm to the actor who voiced chef and wrote his sudden and abrupt resignation because they were not going to accept him having any affiliation with a show that points out how dumb their establishment is
I’m so happy this show came out in the 90’s. It would have never made it if it came out today. People are way too easily offended nowadays. It’s sad. Love South Park!
Actually glad to hear that Issac Hayes didn't hate the show over the scientology episodes, sad to hear he suffered a stroke and the church abused his name.
As a current Mormon the episode is hilarious! The “dum dum dum dum dum” line is gold. Don’t care what y’all think about my religion, the episode got a good laugh from from my seminary class
Yup. Card carrying Mormon And I laugh every time. Frankly, considering how hard they are on everyone I don't think they're that bad about Mormons. They may Joseph Smith a super best friend after all. @@RapFanatic4ever it’s the same thing as the Scientology episode but Mormons are actual real nice people even tho some of the things they believe are ridiculous.
The only episode of South Park where I was so disgusted with the episode was The Death of Chef and not b/c of Isaac Hayes leaving the show, but because they were openly promoting (not actually saying it's okay, but the nerve for them to include that in there is what I mean) child molestation which to me is one of the only things that I get offended by.
In what way we're they trying to promote Child Molestation? If you had paid attention to the context of the episode, it was very clear that the main characters were doing their best to un-brainwash Chef out of being a pedophile, but sadly failed. Everyone else that wasn't in that club was very much against what Chef was turned into (against his own will apparently). If anything, the episode was making fun of the group that made Isaac Hayes quit by portraying them as Pedophiles.
I remember the "it hits the fan" episode. Me and my boyfriend were in my room and my mom was one room over cleaning and organizing and she was a turbo-prude and when they started cursing, me and my boyfriend had to turn down the tv and sit closer to watch at low volumes. Fun times
The funniest part of the "Closetgate" episode to me was R Kelly's demeanor and expression as he walks out the front door with Tom Cruise and John Travolta. I've never heard anyone say anything about it, but I noticed it and it caused me to wonder "Wtf did he experience in that closet to cause that reaction??" 🤣🤣
No mention of the "All About Mormons" episode subsequently being written into becoming a multi-Tony Award Winning Broadway Musical? Bloody hell, you folks are more clueless than Alicia Silverstone's character in the movie "Clueless"!

@@brandonmeadows7972 it is only the censorship people or comedy central that is afraid
“Fatbutt and Pancake Head” is also one of my 25+ most favorite ‘South Park’ episodes back in 2000s.
I’m a ginger who was not quite old enough to watch SP when it started (but did overall with my older brother), I’m a ginger, and was never made fun of that!
"What seems to be the officer, Problem?" 😆
Of course it's controversial. What else can you expect from a show that is offensive?
Unfortunately people focus on the offensive jokes and not the underlying message.
@@Jenifer_R_ very true
I expected South Park Joe Biden roasting in-universe Putin, or President Garrison (basically in-universe Trump) insulting in-universe Kim-Jong Un.
i believe with utmost certainty that the church of scientology deliberately caused harm to the actor who voiced chef and wrote his sudden and abrupt resignation because they were not going to accept him having any affiliation with a show that points out how dumb their establishment is
I’m so happy this show came out in the 90’s. It would have never made it if it came out today. People are way too easily offended nowadays. It’s sad. Love South Park!
It's because of these episodes that South Park is still being made.
It always pushes the envelope.
You can’t touch South Park
Actually glad to hear that Issac Hayes didn't hate the show over the scientology episodes, sad to hear he suffered a stroke and the church abused his name.
If they haven't already let's see Will Smith & Jada get the South Park treatment.
They made fun of Will a bit on that Here Comes The Neighborhood episode!
There's a small bit already in one of the 2 newest episodes.
#1 -- Yet they completely left out how the episode Super Best Friends DID show Muhammad and hardly anyone at the time gave it a second thought.
that's cause it was before 9/11, after that everyone went crazy about that shit
As a former Mormon, that episode was fucking hilarious
As a current Mormon the episode is hilarious! The “dum dum dum dum dum” line is gold. Don’t care what y’all think about my religion, the episode got a good laugh from from my seminary class
Yup. Card carrying Mormon And I laugh every time. Frankly, considering how hard they are on everyone I don't think they're that bad about Mormons. They may Joseph Smith a super best friend after all. Lol And I've seen interviews where they actually think we're some of the nicest people ever. I just know that everything on the Earth is fair game with them so I'm not insulted. It's hilarious.
@@LLC4269 yup we’re super nice not everyone is so strict on it but most missionaries are in their late 18’s to early 20’s and they’re all fun and nice and we’ll still young and have a bit of the child in them. Not trying to make anyone convert but at least be nice and wave to them if they pass by.
Late to post this, but the controversial Indiana Jones scene was based directly on, "The Accused." Jodie Foster starred and won an Oscar for her role.
I love almost every episode just cause it hits pretty accurate. Depicts how nasty some of the celebs are
I remember the threats regarding showing the prophet Muhammad, and the subsequent ban. I also remember that South Park had already depicted him in a prior episode and nothing happened.
The sad part about the Mormon episode is he is right, it's dumb but those people are better than anyone
I thought it waz that Mormonz were dumb
Dude, i was molested by a family member and still i think nothing is off limits in comedy. There are some great molesting jokes
Don't know why Mexico was so upset. They showed the wrong Prime Minister for Australia!
Top 10/20 Erik Cartman Schemes that were successful
you may be right Finley, he did make one kid eat his own parents.
I remember the "it hits the fan" episode. Me and my boyfriend were in my room and my mom was one room over cleaning and organizing and she was a turbo-prude and when they started cursing, me and my boyfriend had to turn down the tv and sit closer to watch at low volumes. Fun times
Turn down the volume because of course words lol are you 12 or something
I absolutely adore how Man Bear Pig went full circle 😂
Did it tho ?
The funniest part of the "Closetgate" episode to me was R Kelly's demeanor and expression as he walks out the front door with Tom Cruise and John Travolta. I've never heard anyone say anything about it, but I noticed it and it caused me to wonder "Wtf did he experience in that closet to cause that reaction??" 🤣🤣
Wow, I love South Park and have watched every single episode a number of times, I never picked up on that! Epic! Thanks for your comment.
If people actually get mad at south park and try to start a controversy at them, it just proves how brilliantly south park is written
"Whats seems to be the officer, problem"
Never fails to get me.
No mention of the "All About Mormons" episode subsequently being written into becoming a multi-Tony Award Winning Broadway Musical?
Bloody hell, you folks are more clueless than Alicia Silverstone's character in the movie "Clueless"!
They actually did it... They ACTUALLY PLAYED THE UNCENSORED VERSION OF THE FINAL SPEECH FROM 201! THAT TOOK SOME REAL GUTS TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT!
Yeah, but there’s an earlier episode where they actually DID show Mohammed without the censored box at all!
Kids born from 1990-1999 are who we are because of south park 😂 I don't even bat an eye at curse words or anything anymore
This is only for adults!
Born later, but grew up with it. Its kinda exhausting now because the whole german TH-cam bubble is like "oh no no swear wowrds pwease uwu". Every time a youtuber cries about swears and offends I just can't to anything else than roll my eyes and loose a biiig sigh.
The day the Mormon episode was released I watched it with my mormon parents. I was laughing my a*s off while my parents were like 😧😐
I love the southpark ones! Keep them coming please!!
Ikr I’m here for them
Yes
We need to give the tv show credit for being the first to mock Mohammed. It's something no other tv show has ever done
I agree. As a Christian, I watch South Park, but I do fast forward or plug my ears when they make fun of Jesus (just my choice) but to me, they make fun of all religions. So I don't get all the outrage. I mean, in my religion, God gave us free will.
Yes and long before the controversy of 200/201 they actually portrayed him as one of The Super Best Friends in the episode of the same name which like 200/201 and Cartoon Wars 1 and 2 have been removed from all streaming sites.
@@sarahpeterson6497 I'll gladly watch any mocking of Christianity fro. South Park, even though I'm catholic. And it's because they make fun of everyone. But I'll skip episodes from family guy/ American dad, because they don't have the stones, pun intended, to make fun of Islam.
It’s okay being controversial but drawing a Islamic prophet which is forbidden in Islam is wrong in so many ways
@@sarahpeterson6497 how can you call your self Christian yet you allow people to mock your god? I’m atheist btw plus I think you mean liberal Christian because your not a actual Christian
I will say this, the end of the blame Canada song is really funny. We've got to blame someone before somebody thinks of blaming us
Let’s face it this could have been a watch mojo top 100 list and still have an honourable mentions list with it.
Was surprised to see no mention of the woodland critters. 🤭
The Russian entry just made me bust out laughing.
So funny that when they actually depicted Mohammad in the episode Super Best Friends, no one cared lol. Go figure?!
Didn't Sea Man defeat Mohammad?
@@ANDROLOMA ahh, I can’t remember. Been years since I saw that episode.
@@iandouglas1162 I'm looking forward to when all the season's episodes get their own channel for binge watching. South Park makes me laugh where most other shows can't.
Oh, how we ❤️ ‘South Park: The Stick of Truth.’
😁
That was censored here, too. Thankfully a patch was put out for PC, so I could play the whole game as they intended.
I’m surprised that not on the list is that one scene of those Native American casino staff using Chinese people to rub them onto blankets to give the sars to the adults of South Park.
As someone that’s half Chinese myself, that kinda did strike a nerve.
Hahaha, I don’t think of that as offensive.
I’m Native American, and it CLEARY shows what happened to the old Native Americans.
So I just view it from a different point that benefits me, and I don’t let it get to me.
22:00
You guys didn't mention the public protest draw mohammed day...
Mr. Hankey is the spirit of Christmas
The episodes featuring Satan and Saddam Hussein. Wow. 😳😳😳
It was from watching Southpark episodes about Mormanism and scientology that inspired me to research both.
Have you seen Louis Theroux film on Scientology? It's fascinatingly bizarre what they do and believe.
The funny thing is, on top of 200 and 201, also The Cartoon Wars episodes were ultimately banned from airing again and they are also about the same issue. It's almost like... someone doesn't want censorship to be criticized so they censor the criticism.
Almost 😉😄
Beleive or not I did see the Ginger Kids episode when it aired here in the UK, and do you know what I did… I friggin Laughed myself to the point of exhaustion. I found it hilarious and no one picked on me for being Ginger even afterwards.
As usual south park is ahead of their time, Parents not liking the idea of grade school kids being taught sex ed not know who or what they are teaching. Are trey and matt time travelers?
I feel as if they're sparing Putin & North Korea's Kim dynasty from ridicule just to have extra surprise ideas to kill Kenny.
It was the perfect cartoon for a rebellious young teenager in the late 90s when it first came out
Little kids swearing and dealing with grown-up situations like it's nothing
To be fair, when I was in school even the earth club kids liked making fun of Al Gore. He’s just easy to poke fun at
They talked about the Sex Education episode twice.
You know your costume is offensive when even the devil has to tell you to wear a different costume
“Thankfully nobody dropped an F bomb at the Oscars” clearly this list was made before the 2022 Oscars
Why was "Proper Condom Use" on here twice?
If "The Gang" felt that Indiana Jones was raped for Kingdom of the Crystal Scull, then I'd love to see what they think about Dial of Destiny.
They're not wrong about that 2008 Indiana Jones film though.
I’m a simple Rick… I see South Park, I click
Matt and Trey didn’t even get around profanity at the Oscars and then here comes Willy Boy 😮💨
Omg I love South Park! Been watching it since i was 9.. that was like normal back than lol! The episode with Indiana jones got me ROTF LMAO 😂
My opinion is that South Park is always spot on. They quite literally say what most of us are thinking but are too polite to say out loud. lol.
TACO FLAVORED KISSES FOR MY BEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!
Kick a ginger day predates the south park episode by many years. I remember it in my school in 2002.
The Mormon episode should have been way higher. You can tell they didn't do their research bc the revelations in that episode were believed to kill people of they weren't ready. The warlord revelations specifically. Non of the other episodes threatened to wipe out the earth 🤣😂🤣
Blame Canada is currently my ringtone with all the crap and housing crisis that's happening right now
@12:50 , it’s wild I grew up Mormon (LDS) and it took me a long time to do research outside of church doctrine. Looking back, it’s wild that this South Park episode was more based in reality, facts, and Joseph Smith’s journal than the current church teachings lmao. Fail on my part! Oh well…
People need to get a sense of humor. Nothing South Park had done has offended me, because I can laugh at myself and know that jokes are just jokes.
I’m guessing people who throw fits about South Park must think it’s real life. Maybe they really don’t realize it’s all satirical 🤷♂️
The sad part about South Park is that its TOO accurately REAL LIFE.
Top Ten Worst South Park Decisions
Hay China... If the shoe fits 🤣
I love the Mr Hanky Christmas special, lol I am a Christian with a sense of humor! The blame Canada one was great too, my step-dad is from Canada and I teased him about the episode.
Yeah, no. Nazi imagery isn't Illegal in germany anymore for video games. As long as its informational or obviously meant for sarcasm and not a real opinion its fine nowdays.
I didn’t know that, thanks
South Park is my favorite Cartoon TV Show. I never get offended by anything. It’s awesome.
