It always cracks me up when people get all twisted over 'naughty words'. Twisted enough to write letters to comedy central. Oh no! Vowels and consonants! Run!
Discrimination against redhead goes all the way back to the great witch hunts in the medieval times in Europe. In some countries if you had red hair or you were a witch.😢
Usually in comedy, there is a fine line comedians would rather not cross. South Park usually steps over that line, takes a few steps and THEN, they begin their episode…😂😂😂
You can also see him in the episode Super best friends. I don't think it gets aired anymore though. Can remember the exact season but it's in season 3, 4, 5, or 6 and he is not a background character.
I used to be a practicing Muslim and have always LOVED southpark. They DID depict Muhammad years before during a "super friends" episode of prophets and deities and for some reason to this day is under the radar. Even back then I couldn't care less as I thought it was fucking hilarious! There are always zealots in every community that ruin it for all of us!!
It did retroactively get hit, though I don't recall if it was after Cartoon Wars or 200/201. I think it was the latter, because I remember watching it again after seeing Cartoon Wars and chuckling at the changes in policy. (though I do own older versions of the seasons, so that might be where I remember it from)
@@EagerForestTrees-ib7fm I think it means they follow the cultural stuff like food restrictions but don't bother with everything, like the praying numerous times a day. Like Jewish people who are culturally Jewish but don't go to synagogue.
Funny enough when I was a kid my little sister and her best friend used that line in a drunk and cop skit in our dining room. It was so funny I shot the soda I was drinking out my nose, which hurt.
The real problem with South Park isn’t the show it’s the people blaming it for everything. For example just because it’s a cartoon doesn’t mean it’s for children and everyone acts as if children of all ages watch it religiously
One thing you can say about south park, is if you put your personal feelings about any one subject aside, it'll show you a different view point on it. And typically by the end of the show, even in the early years, it makes good points.
The plandemic episode is savage. They say you have to use a mask to enter a restaurant but get to take it off when seated. 😂😂😂😂 they showed how foolish most people acted in 2020
23:43 Isaac Hayes quit because he was a Scientologist. He got super pissed off after they made the episode about Scientology and then angrily quit. He shouldn't have, especially since he played such a great character. Of course, that's what a crazy, mind-warping "religion" will do to you.
Honestly I understood where Kenny stood on trying to end his Moms pregnancy. It was just such a funny way of the child finally losing the plot and taking it into their own hands, instead of the reality of resigning to ones fate as the new child's surrogate parent.
You can find at least 500 controversies in 100 episodes of South Park! 😂 That’s why it’s the best thing that ever happened in the history of television!🤘🏻
I honestly always thought of it as a nice homage from Parker and Stone. I always saw it as them putting him in another episode after his passing was their way of acknowledging him and what he did for the world. I mean he wasn't sticking his thumb up any @sses this time around was he?
@I can understand that but it it’s more so because Steve Irwin died due to a stingray and his death and this episode are a month apart😂maybe if they waited longer it would’ve been different reaction but tbh I’m not 100% sure.
@@taliac5206 I thought that myself, but to be honest it was the perfect timing for it though. With the episode being Satan themed and with I'm assuming Steve not being Mormon, he obviously ended up in hell when he died. But that was always my take on it.
All i realized was that no one can take a joke😂 religion, country history, and especially pop/movie people. Its called satire and completely covered under the 1st amendment in all these cases
I just love how polite the LDS were about the Mormon episode, because it’s SO like them 🤣 I dated a Mormon girl for 4 years in highschool into college, and I got to meet the missionaries and even attend the mass. Genuinely, they’re the loveliest people you’ll ever meet lolol. Even when I’d tell them “Oh sorry… I’m raised Catholic, but I consider myself agnostic.” They’d just respond with shit like: “ Oh that’s okay! We brought some baked-goods. Have one on us. Thanks so much for listening!” Or “Wow, that’s so interesting! I’m sorry we couldn’t help you!” Like, just genuinely such lovely people. Even at the mass I attended, my gf at the time told me to keep my trap shut. But I still accidentally let it slip when we were greeting “our neighbors” and the guy just said “oh wow that’s great! Welcome to the church!” Seriously, I don’t believe in God (or at least not an Abrahamic God… maybe. Probably not the others either). But, the Mormons tho… those people could seriously hang. Their positivity is adorable, and their politeness is something I’d genuinely like to see more in other Christian faiths.
This show is just hilarious and people just need to know that Matt and Trey will go after everyone and everything. No one is safe. They make fun of stuff I like or I believe in but it’s SATIRE.
The game was censored in some European countries, but not all. In most countries it wasn't censored at least if you bought it on Steam/PC. Since most countries don't have strict censorship laws in most of western Europe at least.
its an animated satirical show. It's art. It is impossible for it to "go too far" Matt and Trey have been trying to get us to recognize this. Your belief systems aren't sacred lol
Honestly, its crazy that the only really distasteful thing they ever did was the steve Irvin part. Maybe the only moment that was only offensive for the sake of being offensive.
Personally the Indiana Jones episode disturbed me quite a bit. Still enjoy South Park and it's humor but I stopped watching for a while after seeing it. I don't know if I'd say they "went too far", I can say that the episode missed the mark with me and that's OK. Comedy is about pushing boundaries and South Park in particular has always loved to do that and much more. It's why I like it.
The Steve Irwin jab is the only one that could upset me. He was a great person and didn't deserve to be made fun of, especially given the circumstances surrounding his death. He was a great guy loved by millions, he should have been left alone and maybe years after his demise brought into the show. RIP Steve
When I was a freshman in college, I wrote an essay for my sociology class on the episode of South Park where Randy says the N word on live TV. I got a perfect score.
Okay, yes, Stan is the lead protagonist of the series so he's the leader of STAN'S gang. But seriously, shouldn't the leader of a group be the brains of the group? Why not Kyle? Same with Craig's Gang and Tolkien. 😒🙄
It's funny to watch the first season of south park. How people considered it so vulgar. And now it just seems like it every other day. Where did our morals go.
The forbiddance of Muhammad’s imagery is never said in the Quran. The Quran does not explicitly or implicitly forbid images of Muhammad.
