@richardperaza5083 well the toad did capture Rita before she could drain Whitey and Spike's Lifeforce. (I know Kate Winslet did not play Rogue in X-Men, but she was approached for the role and turned it down)
I always remembered this film as having been claymated. Apparently it's actually cgi, and it is a bit dated but at least it still looks decent for a 2006 animated film.
It's also unusual IMO. Because I remember when Aardman made that Wallace & Gromit movie, and it was all stop motion.
Also it's got style. Disney hasn't changed it's CGI style since Tangled in 2010 and it's just extremely stale now (photoreal environment with enlarged, overly-cute characters). I always love when CG animators think outside the box and try to make their movies stop-motion or claymation-like.
@@alchemy5750 funny you say that, because both films have visually something in common, TANGLED is is reminiscent to the hand drawn animated films, while this one is reminiscent to the claymation stopmotion films
They were initially going to do stop-motion, but trying to animate water in stop-motion was impossible so they went with CGI
The main reason why it’s CGI over stop motion clay is cause the studio burned down after starting work on the flim

does anyone agree with me saying this is one of those movies aside from megamind that fits underrated to a whole new level and deserved at least 3 sequels and maybe a tv series.
Considering 3 sequels and a TV spin-off is what Madagascar got, at that point it probably would’ve overstayed its welcome unless the writers managed to be at the top of their game the entire way through.
That being said, a sequel would be nice.

And then in 2013 or 2014 (I was maybe 13 or 14 at that time), I FINALLY realized that he touched her in the rear-end. Practically one of my best hilarious scenes in the movie. 🤣😛

As a kid I used to wonder how does Hugh Jackman do that voice when as Wolverine he speaks in a deep growling tone. Wasn’t even aware that he’s actually Australian.
I recently watched it again and it was so much better than I remembered it to be.
Sir Ian McKellen has such a deep, powerful, and sophisticated voice! A person could listen to it for hours.

It's that "sinking in" why jumping into water is as safe as it is.
@Phoebe Olivia As long as the water isn't shallow yes. it's the reason you can see videos of people jumping into water from cliffs. If they landed flat from those heights they could die on impact or be hurt/knocked unconscious.

If you don’t and just belly flop into water it’ll kill you, it’s the equivalent to hitting cement, diving and keeping your legs straight prevents that.
The top of the water has to spread out to engulf your whole body when you belly flop it hurts because the water takes a slower time to cover you, making it more painful, thats why people dive and keep legs straight so the water can accommodate and quickly cover you

I realize she's more of a dramatic actress but Kate Winslet I can tell was having alot of fun voicing Rita with all her quips. She mentioned in an interview in another movie that she wasn't sure that she could pull off comedy but she absolutely nailed it here.

I watched this movie a dozen times and just now I realized the Han Solo reference
Dreamworks animation have some of the best 3D animation ever, second only to Disney/Pixar. They're much braver than Disney at utilizing adult humor that kids are oblivious to, which makes for a more well rounded entertainment option. But for some reason, they don't end up making money, even though very well received both by critics and audiences. The ones that do make money are milked dry.
Rise of the Guardians, Flushed Away, Over the Hedge, Monsters Vs Aliens and Megamind to name a few of the very good content that deserved sequels. But instead we're getting Trolls 3...
