Beautiful looking sluice - straight lines , no superfluous bullshit , nice colour scheme - May the Gold Gods reward you for the work you done on it and all the work you have done for the Community. Minimal rain over the weekend would be a blessing.
Thanks Mo, it's a bit of fun sluice, more to play around at home but also to have a bit of fun out on a creek with bugger all water. Hopefully It doesn't rain to much this weekend. Cheers mate
Thanks mate, It was good to get out for the arvo and I'm sure there's more gold there, just need to do a bit more testing. I still have some more gravel to wash, so I'll see how that goes this weekend. Cheers, mate
Well done Pete. I've never wanted a small powered sluice before but that mini multi sluice looks and works amazingly. I would love to have one of those and one of your rotary hammer mill's. I wish I was coming to the sub's day out however I have caught the dreaded COVID from my mother-in-law last Saturday when I returned from the bush. Thank you for sharing your adventures Pete. I really appreciate and enjoy the effort you go to creating your videos. Cheers For those who don't know Dream Mat needs to be cleaned of the mould release oils that are used in manufacturing. Hot soapy water and scrub and scrub and scrub. Then run heaps of gravel through them to season it like you would a new pan. Either that or just accept the small loses until you have used the Dream Mat a few times. I
They are a good combo, crush in one and wash in the other. Did you pick up on that I was lazy and didn't scrub the mat 😁, I only finished it the day before and didn't get around to it, I'll have to scruff it up with some gravel. Look after yourself mate and we'll have a catch up when your better. Cheers Pete
Thanks Andrew, the little multi sluice works at catching lead shot, I've never seen so much from so little gravel. Looking forward to the weekend, all kicks off this arvo for the early birds, should be good. Cheers Pete
A tip from someone who knows. The issue you have with your sluice is that V-Rib prefers an angle of 6 degrees or so , and the dream mat needs 9 degrees , probably more with the tiny pump. Classifying down to quarter inch will help , but it will still be a compromise where neither mat performs well.
The V matt is just an indicator mat, I'm not too concerned about that. When I run gravel at home I do classify using a 1/4 inch and if I run only on V mat I go down to 1/8 and that seems to work well. I could probably pan a bucket quicker than running it through that sluice, its just relaxing to play around with it on a creek. Cheers mate
@@PetesGoldAdventures Relaxing at the creek - what a wonderful philosophy. I will try to incorporate that into my next outing. I think that may be where I am going wrong.
