    G'day Lou,
I am learning more & more regarding the Buick Brand through you & more & more I respect the Buick name.
Back in 1999 a good friend of mine bought a Buick Wildcat a 60's model 2 door Hardtop into Australia.
I had no idea what it was & we went for a hour drive the one thing I remember it had cruise control which I was amazed.
I was blown away by the performance & smoothness.
Never heard of Buick being in Australia but after that drive I knew Buick is something special & this amazing Wildcat is absolutely mind boggling amazing.
So glad Ted restored this 65 Buick well done Ted & sharing Lou.
    Cheers

I think 1970 was the last year Buick offered a manual transmission in LeSabres and Wildcats. But towards the end the LeSabres and Wildcats only "3 in the tree". Not sure the last year a 4 speed was offered, probably 1966. Of course 3 and 4 speeds were offered in Specials, Skylarks and Apollos well into the 70s. At any rate, manual transmissions in full sized Buicks are quite rare.

I was busy with work today so I missed this rollout - what an amazing convertible! Love the color. Oh, how I lament that GM once ruled the world on design only to offer the disgusting putrid and stale blobs of sheet metal that they pass off for sale now. Look at how the details of the car work together - chrome accents - chiseled flanks - the flare and continuity of the styling. That car is a work of art in a very understated yet elegant way! It is amazing that at one time GM had stylists who actually had working eye sight! Those days are gone! I love how every area of this car has details and jewel-like features. The tail end is not flat - it has a w-profile to it that gives the car a somewhat finnish appearance even though the lights are horizontal. The interior is magnificent - and that 4-speed is to die for! Oh my that car must move with a manual transmission and that 401 v-8! Thanks for sharing, Lou! You are the man!

LOVE those Riviera style wheels. You could always tell a sporty Buick when they had a variant of those wheels! Of course everyone knows the Wildcats were always sporty! Love them. What a beautiful example of a 1965. My first car was a 1965 Buick Electra 225. When I got it, it was not near in this condition. You are so right when you said it is as if it were a brand new 1965! What a gret example of a Buick from yesterday.

I remember my dad had a 57 Chevy two-door red white it got rear ended didn’t run good after that so he got a 1960 Chevy two-door six cylinder three speed then he moved on up to a 1965 Buick LeSabre four-door black with no air but it had automatic transmission, that was his first automatic transmission you have to remember that was how it was for a lot of people then he got rid of that 1968 to get a Buick LeSabre four-door with air-conditioning back then people would go through cars, five years was the max my dad purchased a 2008 Cadillac DTS when he was 88 years old.he died the next year from cancer, I kept that car. I still have it. I told my son to keep it because it was the last V8.

I fell in love with the first generation Riviera’s and got my first one (a 63) 45 years ago and planned on getting a 65 when the time was right, if I couldn’t find one, then I would seek out a Wildcat…either way you can’t go wrong.

Nice! Never saw a 4spd console like that, I like it. GM did build some fullsize convertibles with a manual transmission but I didn't expect to see one in a Buick so that's another first for me.
The red and white does it for me, I'd almost buy anything with that combo. Well, I've had five '65 Bucks in red and white. A Sport Wagon and four Skylarks.

According to the Buick literature I have, a four speed manual transmission was also available in the 1966 Wildcat, Actually in the time frame this car was built, the 4 seed manual was not all the rare in full sized cars especially Pontiac's,. My father bought a new 1963 Mercury S-55 2 door breezeway hardtop with the 4 speed right off the showroom floor. Quite a car I might add.

Just a suggestion, why not start it off camera and run it enough to kick down. Then we can hear the idle low. So many times there is not enough time to kick it down on camera. Especially with a 4 speed there is usually a cam difference with the 4 speed cars are a little more lumpy than automatics. Love your shows, long time watcher.

This is first one I've ever seen with a 4-speed standard shift got be very rare my parents had a 1967 year 225 electric convertible it was silver and black interior was one of the fancier cars I can remember my uncle had a 1965 two door hard top with the 445 on air breather i remember first drive on it he warned me not to be spinning out on it the first thing it did was lay a 75 foot long black mark in front of his house i thought the transmission was slipping until i looked to the right and seen tire smoke coming up beside the car it was very touchy gas peddle would spin the tires when you pushed it any at all you barely leaned any at all on the gas peddle you had give it time to pick up speed or it would bust lose the tires on dry asphalt it was a land yauht our 225 electric didnt spin tires that easy i guess it was the gear ratio and the torque this comnasion together or something the wildcat was a luxury gentleman sports. car it rode very smoothly I can only imagine how much fun a stick shift would of been the automatic would spin out from under you a four speed standard had be a blast to drive anyway thanks for sharing this car with us brings back old time memories
