Thank you for the inspiration, this is really a great card. I also watched the german video so I can tell you that her card lies flat with 8 strips because she created a spine to the base and did glue the pop-up element to the very edge of the pattered paper. The tiny strips she only needed because the butterflies would otherwise not have been visible behind the big one in the middle. Btw I found it really clever to score the whole sheet first and then cut into strips, I wouldn't have thought of that 😂

Thank you Sam, so much for this tutorial. I replicated it for a friend, but I put tools on the outside. I had ordered a dye from Amazon that was a tyre and it was supposed to come on Wednesday but didn’t come till Friday so I had to make my own version of water tire or a wheel looked like. The whole idea was that John and his wife Kath has been very kind to me and helped me clear 40 tires out of my garden that I used to use as flowerplanters and they do odd jobs around the house for me to, hence the tool kit. I would love to send you the pictures where shall I post them as I can’t seem to put it on here. I must tell you. He was absolutely thrilled that somebody had bothered to make something and I said how I had been inspired by your beautiful card.

Wow, just wow! Definitely going to try this when I get home, My mind is thinking lightweight acetate for the mechanism…and I wonder if it were done in flowers if leaves could be attached to the bottom of the mechanism. Hello . I definitely would not recommend this as it will emboss the front and back of your card or if your plates are badly marked it will show on your card . 😊

So pretty! I'm wondering if acetate would work well in place of the white strips. I find them more noticeable than the butterflies.
That would be great, but how would you hide the glue on them?
Beautiful!!! I have seen the original and loved it! Never been game to try it as I'm pretty sure she did hers in cm with a gusset so it probably sat flat because of that but you've done well to convert it to inches AND without English!!! Lol. Yet the irony is that I've had to teach myself imperial for card making 😜 Go figure lol. Anyway- this card is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!!!
We made something along these lines in craft club. We did the letters to spell BIRTHDAY .. I can’t remember if it laid flat as it was years ago. Good to get reminders of these card styles 😊

Brilliant thank you for passing this on to us. Yes I used 9. Leaving first and last empty for rainbow. I put couple little gems in the two blank ones. Card is being handed over so no issue with postage.
I made the butterfly using my die . Flimsy but look delicate.

Sam, stamp with Kelly has this card too. She scored her base card twice to make a thicker fold, this might be what makes it fold out flat.

Made one. Where can I fine the different sizes ones please. Have 2 cards to make in April so think slightly bigger. My card base turned out to be 5 1/4 inches so was a bit tight. But happy with result. Thanks Sam

New from yt:
When you say the measurments in inches it makes directly cm for me.
Can you please , if you score on the tool say 4 Inches ( not only 4,8,and so ) ? Then it translates directly 4 inches= 10cm . Then i can directly use the scorelines. But for this you must by each nummer say inches .
