There's been a few tornadoes I can remember in Washington, around Seattle, but nothing too bad. I was curious and the worst tornado I could find outside "where you'd expect it" in the U.S. midwest was in Worcester, Mass., which I had never heard about. It killed close to 100 people and injured nearly 1,300. The worst tornado in recorded human history was the Tri-State Tornado in the U.S. midwest, in 1925, which killed ~700 people, injured 2,000 and tore a path 200 miles long. It actually had 3 separate vortexes; that must have been a terrifying thing to behold.

I don’t want to question the book, but I’m 99% sure the Golden Gate Bridge is painted International Orange. I’m a San Francisco Bay Area native, and I’ve never heard of vermillion Orange.
