I had a very bad inverted left ankle injury that resulted in a dislocated ankle, achilles rupture, torn deltoid and peroneal. Every time I see an ankle injury I cringe a little and feel for the person!

@@infinitymixtapes9562 It's hard to verbally describe what exactly happened, but I was gang tackled. I'm 6'7" 260lbs 31 yrs old now, at the time I was 17, 6'5" roughly 250lbs. With my weight combined with two other 200+ lbs people I was tackled backwards with my left foot caught in an inverted position up underneath myself. It was a pretty freak accident injury really. I was told it's not that common to have an Achilles injury with an ankle injury, however it was that severe. Oddly enough, when I was 13 I was bitten by a rattlesnake on my left ankle, was rushed to a hospital and treated in time to save both my life and my foot/leg. My lower leg, foot, and ankle still had some necrosis, but I recovered. I was told then that I may have some lasting tissue damage from the rattlesnake bite, then 4 yrs later this injury occurred to my same ankle.
We're cringing reading that injury description!!!!
Lawrence coming out of that without a major ligament damage is a real miracle.
He didn’t get wrenched backwards. He got rotated over that leg in a way that wasn’t so bad.
Previously fractured and dislocated my right ankle in a fall, along with multiple fractures in my fibula😖. Typically called a tri-malleolar fracture-dislocation. Pins and plates and screws managed to put things back together, but I told I would always have a limp.
Thanks to a great surgeon and fantastic PT, I walked just fine
At least this helped me understand my own meniscus injury better. Mine snapped cleanly in half back in high school, and after 4 years and 2 surgeries my leg is still constantly in pain.
Was so relieved to see Lawrence was alright, or at least mostly alright. Hope Jimmy G is ok as well. Thanks for the breakdown doc, good info as always!

I suffered a very similar injury to Garoppolo while playing Australian rules. A tackle landed identically to the one shown. It resulted in a spiral fracture of the tibia. Strangely there was no significant displacement of the bone, so I avoided surgery. But recovery tough due to all the soft tissue damage that comes with a twisting injury. I wish him all the best

So this past Tuesday my foot got caught on the synthetic grass, I felt and heard a crack and pop to my knee and fell to the ground instantly in pain, fortunately I was able to limp off the field but knew something was wrong and headed to the hospital, I was told I have a fracture and a possible ACL tear, to be confirmed once I have an MRI appointment, what was your recovery time range and process?
@@omarsanchez2399 mine wasn't too severe, so it did not require surgery. I just had to have a boot on for about 6-8 weeks, and had to use crutches to limit the amount of weight bearing
I’m a relatively new resident but every time we get a young person with torn ligaments or fractured bones, they were playing their sport on a turf field.
I’m not too well versed on the change in playing sports on turf vs grass, but there’s something about turf that brings these cases in the ER quite often.

i’m a major clemson fan trevor lawrence is probably the most tough quarterback i’ve ever seen i’ve seen him take insane hits and just thought how the hell did he get back up from that it’s just how he’s built honestly he got practically killed on a hit from chase young a few years ago and was out for only one play

Lawrence ended up having a sprained toe. That’s it. He said he grabbed the back of his leg just out of reflex because he thought it might have been injured because of how weird the movement was. So that was a bit of a misdirection I can’t fault you for.

These players are dirty they know that grabbing and holding while swinging and allowing their lower body to swing they can clamp and players limb and get it caught in the wedge almost like a submission or a armbar. Swinging down on someone's legs while they are running will eventually end in a trapping of the limb causes some sort of injury. If u know u know.
