And as his winsome personality starts winning her over, she finds herself in the middle of a love triangle. Who will she choose? I can't think of a greater love story than this. It is simply great. This is just fantastic. The story, the acting, the characters, everything just click.
Thoroughly enjoyable. And Cal is a total hoot; a perfect foil to Abbie's zany parents. And Jessica...each character added wonderful spice to the mix.
OK I'm ready for imaginary romance movies. Who agrees that the emotions they produce are real. And may be beneficial for the heart ❤️.

I am crying! this movie just made me cry!! good one really good!! sometimes lonely people do make up imaginary friends! and it is so well shown in this movie, the element of surprise , the unconventionality of it all! sometimes the people who look normal are the ones with the most unusual stories ever! good job!!!!
saw this when i was 15 back in 2005 and thought "this is what adulthood will be like!"
i totally forgot the name, and everything about it except Shiri and Will Friedle and luckily found it here. I thought nobody saw this movie except for me and now it has almost a million views! super nostalgia..
Maybe it isn't an accurate depiction of adulthood really, but it is young adulthood at least. In those college years, just outside of high school, we are now testing the waters of adulthood. They got their whole lives ahead for them. I also think, their circles are a bit small. Jess and Abby for instance, staying together, and developing maturity gradually. Then we have the childish, immaturity of Carl and Quinn, who are still sort of in that high school phase, to becoming adults, who are also growing up as well. In Abby's case, she has a false idea of adulthood, a perfect boyfriend, who is successful and has a great career. As kids, we always believe adulthood will be that easy to traverse. In this case, she grows up, realizing perfection is not what we think it is, and Quinn grows up to learn about commitment. So it's sort of coming of age technically, when you think about it.
I'm not a young woman but I loved this movie. Don't we all want the perfect boyfriend? I never thought of creating my perfect somebody though. Maybe I should have. Lol
When she was explaining to Quinn about Si is when it really got sad. I can't imagine being an only child and my parents never being there for me.
Thank you for this! I saw this randomly as a teen and I fell in love with it. So whimsy.
this is a surprisingly good movie and really depicts the way us women sometimes make things up in our mind and it slows down real life haha

Why do I love this movie that much?.. the actors the soundtrack the story.. oh my I watched it several times and I still hook to it.. I know it may sounds funny coz Im not as young as the characters did..

same here, not so young, but completely drawn to the movie, it has this calming vib, et it holds a good plot and a nice pace. a really goodone to watch and rewatch ( makes me cry, laugh, sad hopeful, and much more! ) it feels real!

Cute movie, cute couple, fun location, good script. Abby’s parents were a little over the top as was Quinn’s friend. No one is that quirky! But hey, it’s just a movie. We all need a little make believe in our lives.

It truly was. I think its pacing and flow was nice, the slight twist and of course those two kind of realizing at the end sometimes everything you want is rigjt there. You are not perfect and you shouldn't be looking for perfect anymore.

Definitely. I loved this movie. Abby creates the idea of perfection, and thinks Quinn is immature, but she is experiencing love for real now. I really love the story elements and I loved Quinn in the end realizing he was being unreasonable,and the only real way to fix his issue is to talk to Abby... that ending scene, with the painting was amazing.
