Making a Handmade Leather Travel Wallet
Leather travel wallets are fun projects to make out of leather because they can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make the - all they really have to hold is a passport! Our handmade leather travel wallet holes much more than that, with 6 credit card slots and two big pouches for ticket, notebooks, receipts, or cash on top of an easy access slot for a passport or a notebook.
When making a leather travel wallet by hand, we like to use a saddle stitch to sew and we like to use saddle leather in our construction. This leather travel wallet is made with hermann oak veg tan and Old World Harness leathers, poly threads, and a solid brass snap that we had custom made by Scovill. We also use solid copper rivets from our Sponsor Weaver Leather with their heritage setter, which is an affordable way to set rivets in a solid, efficient manner!
I'm so childish... i made my self laugh by thinking "that hammer, that must be a Corter Pounder" ... i'll get my coat.

Cool project! I love it. Can I ask what grit sandpaper you use on that spindle sander? It seems whatever I use just roughs the leather even more than smoothes it.

What size are the punched holes for the rivet and snaps?

I know this is an older video by now, but one thing that might cut down on the consumable cost and waste of paper towels could be getting a large silicone mat (often sold as "silpat" or silicone baking sheets) to use as a surface to glue on, instead of paper towels. Very easy to clean, dishwasher safe, liquid materials won't bleed through it, and nothing sticks to it. I got one when doing resin casting to protect my bench and it's saved me a lot of hassle.

Hey your videos can be improved....when you cutting please shot that from above the hand... Dont crop the entire thing.let the viewer view from an angle..and hey why don't you try color grading ?? Orange and teal look or something like contrasted view where you as a subject are more in the view and other then the whole background is in black...i hope it will help you to make better videos...

I have the same hammer I am 70 yrs old it was my fathers when he was a kid working at a place that made wooden crates for fruit I always remembered playing with it as a kid
before my father died my brother was taking all my dads tools and selling them that hammer was the only thing i took and kept i will cherish it forever
