Pro tip: put a rubber washer against the upper on, a little less vibration. Pro tip2: tighten the 2 nuts together and you can drive thastud in very easy
Unfortunately, I no longer have the car. I got into a pretty bad accident a few months back. But the car was running smooth and like new until the accident :(
I am gonna do the charge pipe and intercooler myself and pay the shop to do the catless downpipes, since they are a little tougher and it would help to have the car up in the air.
Very smart. I did the same exact thing. If you need help with the charge pipe I have a video on the channel too as well as the intercooler video. But I had a local shop put in my down pipes.
I have the same fear my self. After the FMIC was put in, I noticed it peaked down a bit lower. But shouldn't be a major issue, u have splash guard and bumper to protect it, just cant drive recklessly and be careful of bumps and pot holes
Thank you! and I am sorry, I'm not 100% sure of what u are referring to as the "fins" but for the install nothing had to be cut. It was a direct fit. But what part are u asking about being cut? Even tho nothing really needed to be cut
Whats up man. It was super tight for me as well. You just have to keep tugging and playing with it for proper fitment. Its a pain in the neck but it'll pop into place
@@acauto7886 so I actually found welds inside the intercooler that are blocking it from fully going in. I grinded them down but it still ain’t enough. They’re sending me upgraded hoses for free so it’s fine w me
Intercooler is doing good. Havent really seen too much of a difference yet. Slight sound difference and a little smoother when increasing rpms. But I'd definitely recommend this FMIC. And yes if u plan to do 2+ with mhd you will need an intercooler along with downpipes and a few other modifications. I am going to tune my car with mhd stage 2+, I am just waiting on my charge pipe to be delivered. Once charge pipe is installed, I will MHD tune my car.
No, I feel like it would fit in the car, but it would rub on the floor. My 5" FMIC sticks out a bit and pushed down my skid plate. I think the 7" wouldnt even allow the skid plate to go back on... also I feel the 7" would be dangerous because it would rub on bumps and potholes possibly
I'm not 100% sure I cant remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure I used the new o rings because they already came inside the intercooler. And the old rings came out with the old intercooler
Step by step, for dumb asses, like me! So clear and concise on each part, awesome video
Haha thanks! We try making all installs detailed and staright forward! Happy this video was a help to you!
Nice job especially 6:37 explaining how that screw is set up !
Thank you!!
Great video man, very detailed and good camera work. I just got an e90 335xi and am planning on doing a lot of DIY’s so keep them coming
Thank you! And yes the plan Is to have plenty of more DIYS. We apperiacte the support and stay tuned for more!
Great video. Thanks for the effort of making it.
No problem! Happy to see you enjoyed the video.
You vids are helping me build my car just got an 90 4 door
That's awesome! I'm happy we could help you with your build! Best of luck with your build
2 years ago! Still driving this car? Mine's running great, time to mess that up w/ upgrades ;)

This was a great vid. just found out I need a new inter-cooler so yeah I'm not going to put a stock one back in
Thank you! And I agree. Why go and replace stock with stock when u can get a nice aftermarket one!
Best toutorial video on TH-cam nice guys
Thank you!

The GOAT
Haha, thank you! I'm happy you liked the video!
👍👍👍
I do want to tackle this on my 2011 335 xdrkve
It was an easy install. Highly recommended mod
I want to do this but am afraid it will scrape and things as such like going high speeds bumps etc and break the Intercooler
I have the same fear my self. After the FMIC was put in, I noticed it peaked down a bit lower. But shouldn't be a major issue, u have splash guard and bumper to protect it, just cant drive recklessly and be careful of bumps and pot holes
Careful using those harbor freight jacks.
This video was over a year ago haha. Way before the recall. I still have these Jack's tho. Gonna send them back real soon
@@acauto7886 recall? Really? Did not know, have to check on that
great video. can you cut those two fins away in front of the intercooler or are they supporting anything? Great video again guys.

What about gaskets
Is this 5” intercooler? Why you select this not 7”?
This is the 5". I felt like the 7 was too big. I wasn't trynna scrape it up.
How’s the quasi far ?
I'm sorry??
I cannot get the intake piping on

Really? Thats a weird issue. I've never heard of someone incountering that before. Im happy the company resolved it for you!
@@acauto7886 yeah I tried grinding it and even took the o ring off to see if that was the problem. Still would not seat in
Thats crazy man
How is this intercooler holding up? In the market for one right now and planning to run stage 2+ on MHD.

@@acauto7886 Sounds good! I have everything else already just missing the intercooler!
@@pravinmahadevan7922 that's great! I heard mhd is one of the best things you can do to your car. I cant wait to do mine
Would the 7 inch fit the same you think?

@@nonagreeable I have 7.5 inch and it fits fine. Jus need to notch out a little bracket on top
Did you re-use the stock o-rings (green , black) or did u use the ones that came in the set ?
