Excellent guide. I can’t get the silver cap to unscrew, for the life of me. I don’t want to mar it up, or anything. It’s an LVR that has sat for like 7 years, at this point…so, it seems to be quite stuck.
it doesn't matter if you scratch the outside of the cap a bit, just as long as you don't deform it/crush it with too much force. The tool I use to grab most parts I don't want to mar are the Knipex Pliers Wrench: www.amazon.com/KNIPEX-Tools-Pliers-Multi-Component-8602180/dp/B081K8WFTF They give great grabbing strength and have smooth jaws that clamp parallel like a crescent wrench does. Great for many applications in the paintball tech world. If you don't want to buy a set of those though, you can use a standard set of pliers and just wrap the silver cap in rubber or cloth. Grab it near the end where it's curved and the strongest and it should break free fairly easily with a little bit of force. If you damage/crush the cap for some reason I can probably dig you up a spare from a dead noid in my scrap bin though.
@@jorelldye4346 hard to source is an understatement. They are currently unobtanium if yours is in fact completely dead. Finding a solenoid that will work with an 05/06 will cost you around $150-200 currently, and that doesn't necessarily mean the market will function at 300fps. I have been tinkering with some mods to help velocity recently but I haven't tested them to be working 100% of the time yet and the mods themselves are also not inexpensive to do... The questions now become, what EXACTLY is wrong with your marker/solenoid, how important is it for you to restore it, in what condition do you want it (competition playable or just working), and what is your budget. The spool can be disassembled, but you need to make a special tool to take it apart, it's also nearly impossible to re-assemble it where it will function properly again. I have not been successful yet trying to service the sealing part of the spool, nor has anyone I have known to try 😞
