I have always wondered why you never bagged your books, Jules. I'm glad to see you've begun. I have bagged all of my books since I began collecting in the 1980s. One point I feel compelled to make though; you are using about three times as much tape as you actually need. (Something you may end up regretting in future years when you attempt to un-bag a copy with damaging either the book or bag.) Another trick you may consider at least trying is to clip the corners of the bag's flaps. That way you don't have those unsightly overlaps on each side of the book. Great video. Cheers.
Thanks. The delay in bagging the books comes from wanting to find a decent brand to begin with but also, I wanted to clean and film them all first. The books i'm now bagging have all been through that process. Understood about trimming the corners although it would make the video even longer 🙂
Do you have any WDL books? I can find out very little about them. They seem to be marketed at men (covers with scantily clad ladies or rugged men with weapons) and have a strange mixture of pulp and literature.
Hi Jules, I’m really enjoying your videos!!where would you recommend looking for Collins white circles, especially ones in fine condition. I’ve had a look on eBay and ABE but the offer seems rather limited? Thank you, Ed
It's tough as eBay is still your best source. You could try abebooks and create a saved search. They hardly ever turn up in great numbers though. An odd one here or there. I got lucky a few years back and got about fifty in one hit. Allyouneedisbooks have stock but lower grade as I recall.
I can't decide which I like best - the brushing, polishing, or bagging. Luckily you provide it all sir.
Thanks! The agony of choice!
Jules
Watching this video and many others from you for the second time or more and learning all the time. Your enthusiasm is infectious 👍
Thanks Peter, these Collins paperbacks are just gorgeous, I love them...it probably shows🙂

@@JulesBurtThe longer the better Jules!!!😅
We'll see🙂
That murder on the orient express cover is fantastic !
It's an absolute classic🙂
Jules, Great as always! Been watching for years from the States. Will be at the UK show this March, hope to say hi!
Fantastic, that'll be great to meet up, thanks David🙂
I read Galsworthy's 'Forsyte Saga' last year and it was terrific - my best read of 2023.
No wonder he won the Nobel Prize for Literature.
They were immensely popular 👍
Any bag recommendations for larger Paper Backs?
There are digest sized versions of the ones I use, else, move into comic bags, stacks of options there👍
Maybe your friend can shed some light on our Newsstand Press editions. 🤠
Is that part of the Collins White Circle or the USA series from the fifties?

I do have about a dozen or so, just like you describe 🙂
Hi Jules, what is the paperback reference web site you referred to around mark 24mins?
I believe the one I was referring to is here. paperbackrevolution.wordpress.com/

That’s some great advice, I’ve created a saved search on abebooks! Thanks
How long can you leave the books stored in plastic?
You're probably fine for ten years if the environment is cool.
@JulesBurt what do you do then? Take them out and re bag them?
If needed, they may last a lot longer without needing to be re-bagged if stored in a cool environment.
