There is a chronological order for the story of I Need U (because they made a story). The order is: - I Need U - Prologue (it's really like a short film) -> th-cam.com/video/4N7oPqkf6sw/w-d-xo.html - Run -> th-cam.com/video/5Wn85Ge22FQ/w-d-xo.html - Young Forever -> th-cam.com/video/HBj4y9Zibao/w-d-xo.html After, later, they released the short films "Love Yourself Highlight Reel" (just look at the last one which is the compilation of the previous 3 and the final part of the story): www.youtube.com/watch ? v = EHdK5U2hf4o
-jhope took the pills as an attempt at suicide (you see him fall unconscious on the bridge but he fails in his attempt and wakes up) -v comes home to see his father beating his sister, and v kills his dad to protect his sister -Jimin attempts to drown himself -suga lights his room on fire (possibly a suicide attempt or just anger) -jungkook gets beat up after bumping into some mystery people -rapmon is working at the gas station but he feels as though he is alone and it’s just him against the world -and Jin is watching his friends suffer while struggling with the weight of being unable to save them from their pain
To add on to that, when RM drops his lollipop it turns into a cigarette. So technically he is slowly killing himself. Also, after Jungkook gets beat up he wanders into the street without looking and presumably gets hit by a car. I've actually heard a theory in which Jin is killing himself too. He lays down lily petals at the beginning and then it shows them on fire. Most lilies are poisonous and I've heard (but found no proof online) that if you set them on fire the smoke is toxic (this does happen with other poisonous plants though, so it is possible). He checks the window at one part of the video and people with this theory say he's making sure it's closed so the smoke doesn't escape.Of course the most common theory is just that the lilies represent the other members.
TwilightsSecrets I think the lilies are representing the members but honestly knowing BigHit I wouldn’t be surprised if it were two metaphors in one. I’m not sure how this is handled in other cultures but where I’m from people call Lilies “death flowers” because they’re often used for funerals and to express sympathy for the loved ones of the person that passed away, so maybe that’s why I’m a little biased towards the “everyone’s dead/ killing them selves except Jin”-theory
If you loved this dark side of bts then you have a long ride ahead of you. They've made so many deep and dark mv's(and short films) about the dark and the good sides of growing up. They really talk about deep stuff no one else does. Just remember everything happening in the videoes is symbolic 👍
the order you should be watching the videos is like this 1. i need you original version 2. prologue 3. run 4. young forever 5. boy meets evil 6. beginn ( short film) 7. lie ( short film) 8. stigma ( short film) 9. first love ( short film) 10. reflection ( short film) 11. mama ( short film) 12. awake ( short film) 13. Blood sweat & tears (korean version) and then im not sure if spring day and not today.
BRIS, this is one of the reasons why so many of us ARMY love and stan BTS. They have completely set themselves apart from other groups because they have tackled the tough issues. Yes they write and sing about love and teenage angst but quite honestly it's SO MUCH MORE than that - their music has real and deep meaning. A portion of Not Today's lyrics, "...Run if you can't fly - today we will survive. Walk if you can't run - today we will survive. Crawl if you can't walk, crawl to gear up...Ready! Aim! Fire!..." "...Trust me on your side, together we won't die. Trust you on my side, together we won't die. Trust the word 'together' trust that it's bulletproof ..." Without getting into all of the meaning of the song, just that alone - if it doesn't pump you up and encourage you, I don't know what will. BTS knows without a doubt that ARMY is behind them and we know that the guys are behind us. Even in some of the interviews when they were here in the States, were asked questions about the craziest thing a fan has ever done, etc...and RM never allowed us to be called "weird" or "crazy" (in terms of things we have done, etc.) he would translate to the guys in a way that didn't make us look like fools. When asked about the craziest or weirdest thing a fan has ever done)...RM even clarified to the interview, "I wouldn't call it weird or crazy..." THAT is the kind of leader in BTS we have. He's so wise in that way and so very protective of us. All of them are. The majority of their fan base may be the screaming 12 - 15 year old girls, but quite honestly, they have just as many ARMY in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s (believe it or not) because their music and who they are as individuals, speak to such a large audience of every nationality, ethnicity, origin, sexuality, religious beliefs ---ARMY is the most diverse group of people I've ever seen lol. It's beautiful! And see the ARMY you have joined? We are beautiful. Yes, some less mature but they'll get there. It takes time to grow up. But the rest of us who are out of high school can be good examples and promote love and self-acceptance so that we can come more together instead of driving wedges between one another. Yoongi (Suga) said it best that music crosses all boundaries, generations, nationalities...it touches us all.
I could not have said this any better bravo! I am a middle aged woman and just discovered them 2 months ago quite by accident. They are the most impressive existence in pop music. Love them.
The climax was jaw dropping. Protecting her went to far and his reaction after the fact was shocking. This touches on depression, steer life, health issues as well. The friendship was the happiest time of their life but individually they struggled with major issues and with out each other's support they all had their self destruction. BTS Amazing as always.
Rule #1 when watching ANY BTS video: Do. Not. Look. Away. EVER. Be careful even when you blink. There is just too much detail and too many amazing bits that will completely blow by. Raise your hand and repeat after me: I will NOT. look away.
I feel like most BTS songs are talking about social problems (or have a mild "dark" concept) no one in K-Pop (or media in general) ever talks about. One of the reasons I love them so much, actually, they aren't afraid to dive deep and discuss topics most artists shy away from.
The reason BTS can go this route with their lyrical content is that they are not under the umbrella of the big 3 entertainment companies. BTS is given more creative control than just about any Kpop group. In such a conservative country like Korea, just about everyone is playing it safe lyrically....keeping it PG-13. One of the biggest reasons I love Kpop is that it's lyrical content is not vile or disgusting like a lot of Western music is. Kpop groups are allowed to get a little more risque when they promote in Japan, as Japan is more open to it. BTS has found a perfect balance of being able to sing/rap about current issues without offending anyone....that is a tough line to walk, but they do it well.
this boy just got so into the whole drug thing and then closed his eyes right as j hope dropped dead from a overdose lmfao. was waiting for him to see it then doesn't see it at all rip jhope and his acting skills :'( edit: although he missed that part his whole reaction to this was gold because its basically how I reacted to it too :')
PLEASE REACT TO SERENDIPITY! RM CREATED THIS MASTERPIECE, AND JIMIN SUNG THIS MASTERPIECE! YOU'RE A MAN WHO LISTENS TO THE BEAT AND ADMIRES IT, I KID YOU NOT, BRUH, THIS IS DEFINITELY A SONG YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO AND REACT TO! PLEASE! REACT TO SERENDIPITY! THANK YOU!
This is the cool sides of BTS. They talk about every common problem in life (not everything but you get what I mean). Anxiety, Suicide , Education System, Love , Hate. This is why so many people relate to BTS.
Roger Na-Yeon Hoseok If you watch clearly each members in that video « I need you » are dying inside or self harm themselves. Example : Jhope take drugs, Jimin in the bathtub, Jungkook in the street, Suga pyromaniac. They are lost and they’re suffering. Jin is isolated with a lys flower on his shirt : maybe dead ? Rm work but he did take all the mistreatment to hurt and kind of suffer from the reality of the world. Tae is lost too so he return home to his alcoholic father and he can’t take more abuse. He protect his sister and himself in a bad way. If you watch the prologue you can see that he jumps in the sea, like he has no hope to continue after his act. You can see Jin too at the end of the prologue in kind of waiting that his truck drown in the sea, with himself driving. Suicide are the main theme of HYYH because even if you can’t see it now, and if you are in the worst situation, maybe with some help, one day you will find happiness again.
Jhope is taking pills (anti-depressant i think) to relieve the pain. THERE ARE A LOT , TONS, MYRIAD, whatever OF THEORIES ABOUT THESE MV. I NEED U - PROLOGUE- RUN AND SO ON. If you have time you can watch it in ur own for better understanding... ^^
Just revisiting...and even now, this MV still hits differently and send shivers, like I'm watching it for the very first time. Definitely a masterpiece.
lol 😂 Bris, you just entered the deepest darkest shit. this music video continues with story line connected to every music videos with short films from albums HYYH+WINGS+YNWA, you’ll get crazier and crazier the more you follow the story.
U need to react in order, from I Need U, Prologue, Run, and Young Forever. These are series of MV from previous BTS Album The Most Beautiful Moment In Life which has storyline in it, and there's a bunch of THEORIES and Analysis from those mvs in that era. Everything is connected, and it successfully made army smarter than FBI lol..
It's funny that the 1st real vid you saw of theirs was DNA... that's the COLOURFUL video that we never saw coming lol. We've always seem them dark p.s. ALL BTS vids have CC
Haha this is why we always say their MVs are connected. They tell a story, and each MV is connected. You mentioned Jhope popping pills here, and if you watch his Mama trailer for their album Wings (watch all 7 please: Reflection for RM, Awake for Jin, First Love for Yoongi, Mama for Hobi, Lie for Jimin, Stigma for Taehyung / V, and Begin for Jungkook), everything is connected. This is the reason why ARMYs have theories every comeback. Watch the Highlight Reels for Love Yoruself: Her and the Japanese version of Blood Sweat and Tears. Then look at their 2017 MAMA performance intro (wormhole) and you'll get to see somehow how everything is connected. 😊
Magel he also has to watch the short films in order.

BRIS, THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT BTS MVs. This is where the BTS mindfuck started. You should not miss any single part of it. You should remember every little thing, cause almost all the other videos are connected to this one. :) I have feels every time I watch this video again. It's like I'm time-traveling with Jin :D
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ you have described my existence around BTS with “mindfuck”... I still do try to come up with a proper theory but every time I feel like grasping it, it fades away... it’s crazy.
yo bris!!! Thanks for the talk on drugs. It’s an important message. As far as the video goes, they aren’t encouraging drugs. The story is that j-hope is portraying someone with narcolepsy taking *prescribed medication.*
Even if you didn't know that it was prescribed, or what his issue was, it looks like he's overdosing & collapsing on the bridge, so it's still not promoting drug use. I'm dying that he missed that
VeralynPoetry Lasut yeah..also don't forget to let the MV Run end it self because you know..the end when jimin holding some pict then jin was dissapears when holding it (Im sorry for my english tho)
We (ARMY) have been involved in theories for three years 😂 to understand this "story", and this is just 1 video xD you can and need see the others videos to understand... But even if we still don't know the sequence of the story, or the "missing" parts, I only have one answer: BANGTAN always talks / sings about the real problems that people can have (especially young) They have helped many with their music and messages (me included) this is their purpose 💕 P.S. Sorry for my english :v
Your English is amazing! Never feel sorry for any mistakes. The fact you learned another language is beautiful in itself 😊 keep on going! As for your description, that was also beautiful!
I know how you feel. As an adult who passed the youth, this I Need You MV presented 360 degree of youth. Happiness ( when they are all together=Jin is the main entity and other six are his emotions), sadness (Jimin in the bathtub), anger/lost love (Suga at a motel), depression(J-hope), struggling for surviving (RM), wandering (Jungkook), fighting/killing alcoholic father who's abusing his sister (V). I see 'I need you girl" in this lyric girl as la vie, life in French. That's why I Need You stirs my emotion like tornado!
Okay so this video, oh dear there is so much and so many things and details and cinematography. There are also so many theories, but as I understand it this is the core and most surface level explination for this era of BTS; Youth is fleeting, there may be a moment where you find yourself among friends surrounded by laughter only to find that the next moment you are alone to face your abusers, adult life, reality and yourself. Being young leaves you vulnerable to the trials of life and without key companions you may find yourself going a dark path, other times you are witness to a darkness in others and because you are young you are unable to find a solution yourself. In the video BTS tries to portay violent and harmful acts that young people do, not to glorify them but to show to people that this is real and its happening and it should not be taken lightly. (because in Korea often times issues like juvenile delinquency and mental health are just brushed off, labled an annoyance or childish) Yes this is absolutely one of the darker MV's they've produced, and there is actually plenty more. This video also connects to the RUN music video as well as their Solo short films.
I think within the whole most beautiful moments in life trilogy they did, I Need U represents the good moments within the bad which is why it flashes between the dark and happy scenes so much.
Your reaction was so great lmao. Also Run music video follows this same kind of story line. Please react to that!! Also the short films may give some answers but they also might make you more confused. They're extremely dark. Please react to the short films too!! Make sure to do it with subs though!! They're on bangtanie subs channel
Yes IN ORDER WITH SUBTITLES! "Prologue" then "Run" there is an order, and then the WINGS short films after OMG someone put in the full video in order for the man!
My guy missed half the video just jammin’ to the song 😂😂😂 Like he didn’t even peep them all tryna kill themselves 😂😂😭😭 (p.s. This is the start of a *HUGE* era in BTS history, and was the start of putting BTS on the kpop map)
Many people think that this song is about love but actually is not, is talking about the hate they took in past then and they had to accept it ( Jungkook gets beaten). Is talking about how we threatened BTS ( i mean in the past), BTS needed us so they will be able to keep going but then people just give them hate. That's why the lyrics say 'i love you but I hate you'. They love us but we hurt them. So, because of the hate, they get in the past and because they weren't popular, they were about to disband. This is a disband song but they won an award with this song so they didn't disband. Also, it shows that when BTS are together they are happy but when they are apart they suffer from depression, and sadness. In the end, BTS gets over all this, J-Hope wakes up, V tries to stop thinking that he killed his father, and Suga puts fire in his room to show that he has moved on. Also, I heard that the official lyrics were ' I need you friend' but they changed to 'girl' because of the rhythm.
the thing is the side of bts u know is not the main side of them,.. sure hype music and lit, swag ones are bts specialties since they started on heavy hip hop based music.. also DNA, mic drop, gogo, cypher series are more on the happy(lit) side just talkin abt themselves or critisizing society but I NEED U, RUN, prologue, epilogue, spring day mv and songs are what BTS is fighting for. this is y they are usin their platform to talk abt real issues, real social issues that concern youths all over the world. im sure some or almost every army would relate to what their represent in these videos and what their message is towards people their age. thats why we follow them. this side of bts is why we still continue to follow them. their 2 years long series of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS IN LIFE PT1,PT2. (which were focusin on adrift youth and pain that comes with it) will continue to the pain that comes inthe journey each one of us takes to truly love ourselves. just expect more of this type of bts since this is what they want to transmit.
GET INTO THE THEORY STORIES BRIS I THINK YOU'VE SEEN ENOUGH OF THEIR CHOREOS TO KNOW THEYRE TALENTED LETS GET REAL DEEP WE COMFORTABLE WITH BTS NOW. they don't play they bring concepts and their storyline to a whole new level. The extreme use of symbolism, and metaphors they tie in their songs and music and production is insane. They're always a message behind everything they do. Please react to short clips highlight reel and the music videos that tie together with the same story is Danger and Run!!!
*THIS SONG HAS SUCH DEEP MEANING, FIRST IT BROUGHT BTS ALL THE SUCCESS, ALL GOOD THINGS HAPPENING TO THEM STARTED WITH 'I NEED U'.* *SECOND, YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE CONTINUATION: BTS - PROLOGUE ENG SUB, BTS - RUN MV, BTS - YOUNG FOREVER.* *THIRD, THE BEAT IS JUST SO FUCKING GOOD, THE LYRICS, THE MUSIC VIDEO IS BEYOND GOO, EVERYTHING IS SO ARTISTIC.*
i would like to tell you about the part with hope taking pills. so, hope has a condition where he would randomly pass out I think... and he really wants to get rid of it. the doctors put him on mess to help with this condition. but he's so desperate, that he would overdose and hope it would go away faster. that is the reason in sure.
I love BTS because of this. They make songs having to do with anxiety, depression etc. But the message they are giving is that you should love yourself. These boys are legends
Yes, it's just like a movie indeed. And it actually connects and continue to other mv in this order: I need you > prologue > run > epilogue:young forever > wings short films > blood sweat and tears > highlight reel
Your reaction was priceless I remember my first time watching this At first I was like I LOVE THIS SONG then after a few minutes I was sobbing by myself on my bed not knowing what to do lol memories...
I haven't finished the video yet but just got done hearing your drugs speech. I completely agree with you but in this video most theories say he was committing suicide like he takes the pills and later on collapses in the video in the street which is terrible but it wasn't like he was taking xanax to get high or something. Bts aren't supporting drug use that's for sure.
V’s character stabbed his abusive father, which was hitting is sister again. There is a story behind all of the MV's, which was based on mostly fan-theories until the Love Yourself Album. Every LY Album had an little booklet with it called 'The Notes'. And in it are little diary entries of every story. A lot of fans translated them from Korean into English so I would recommend you to check these out! Most of the MVs and short films from HYYH+WINGS+YNWA are connected to this story. I hope that I could clear up some things :) Keep up making your videos! I really enjoy them and I love your reactions. I felt the same way as you did the first time I saw that MV :D
i think the women in this video is the mother of v alias demian...cuz the mother of demiam was a widow but in the book it was nerver explained how her husband died...and maybe big hit interpreted it this way
This is my favorite song from BTS. This is what got me hooked at first 2 years ago. BTW the person V stabbed was his father because he was abusive toward his sister.
Your reaction was so spot-on - the MVs in the Most Beautiful Moment in Life (HYYH) era all deal with the poignancy of lost innocence/lost childhood and the struggle between wanting to hold onto that vs. stepping into an acceptance of adulthood. I love that you could feel that just from watching a single MV.
You've now officially started the HYYH videos. My suggestion, to understand the story more, or less lmao, is to watch the Prologue, then Run, then Epilogue: Young Forever (Edit: After the HYYH/Most Beautiful Moment in Life videos, next are the Wings, and then the Love Yourself Highlight Reels. lol Good luck.)
If you look at the cover of both the BTS albums "The Most Beautiful Moment in Live" part 1 and 2...the title is written in Chinese. I don't speak or read Chinese, but, I guess is pronouced " Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa " or shortened to HYYH.
this is why bts are such special artists. they cover the deep stuff of growing up, and not just the perks and fun side of it. they talk about social issues which people often like to set aside and ignore- they like to address issues which many teenagers go through (which explains why many relate and love them). this part of the era talks about the ‘dark side’ of growing up but later on they start to cover more on ‘freedom’ etc (songs like fire- we can see them just letting loose and partying etc) For me, this is one of the main reasons i love them. they are not just artists who sing about sex or love or whatever, they actually use their platform to raise awareness and help others to relate to their music. in their wings album, they even have a song about women power (21st century girls) - knowing they’re a group of 7 MALE members. i just love them.
YES!!!! I'm so happy you are reacting to this video, this MV is what got me into BTS, they weren't singing about the typical love songs, but they were exploring the the hardships of youth, I wasn't into kpop at all, but thanks to this I slowly became a fan of BTS
Thank you for your positive message at the beginning about drugs! Also, just for clarification the person that V stabbed was his alcoholic dad who was beating up V's sister. There are a lot of fan theories about what's going on in these videos.
There is a theory behind their videos which actually may not go with the lyrics but it tells another back story about BTS. I think it starts with BTS Stage: Prologue?? Not quite sure... I'm not really well versed in it so I hope another Army can fill in the rest... 😀😀😀😀
It's I NEED U, Prologue, Run, Young Forever, Wings Short films, BTS wings individual songs (just because I want to see you react to their beautiful solo's), Highlight Reels. You can also watch the Japanese Versions of some of these MVs as the MV is different but it still connects to the story.
Man, I love how you always give a shoutout to the team. Like BTS does a lot, with the lyrics and some of the dancing, but people keep forgetting that there's so many people behind the scenes (pun intended) that are just as responsible for the amount of fame BTS has gotten by now. So kudos to you Bris
If you listen all of BTS songs, you will know that not BTS are always making hyper songs just for marketing. They make they own songs to show their deep messages. You should watch < RUN >mv and mv, cuz they are all connected. So if you watch them, you will understand the meanings and theories, and you will love BTS more. They are ARTISTS.
You mentioned before about falling into the BTS rabbit hole, but you really hadn't yet. THIS... THIS is the BTS rabbit hole. The BTS Universe they created starting with this MV. I hope you're following the webtoon!
That part made me feel weird and it just felt like the members were really showing how they felt when the person they love left them no matter how dark it is.
i need u's era is when BTS found their true color ..yes they were really good before it too but after i need u that's the beggining of legendary BTS just a peesonal opinion ^_^ you'd like to watch Run mv too it's like a sequel to I need u
Everything is connected in BTS' music videos, and you have to watch them in order to understand..and maybe after watching them you'll enjoy reading ARMY's theories about them
I had never seen this video before and had no idea what to expect. I'm in my 40's and pretty new to the army, but I've been doing more and more "TH-cam research" about what makes BTS outstanding. This video was serious. I'm more impressed than ever.
This MV is what really started BTS’ popularity. I joined the era before, so the change didn’t seem like much to me, but older fans will tell you that things really started to change. They got their first music show win with this song, so it’s very special to the fans and bandz
This is the only reaction video im saving. I think honestly the is the best reaction I've ever seen. You're so real. You say your honest opinion and touch on important subjects. I never even noticed j-hope pouring the pills in the fire. They have plenty of videos like this. Just talking about problems now a days. Run is another one, probably not as bloody as this one but definitely still heart wrenching. Thank you man this was great. Especially your concern on drugs 11/10 My favorite
I wanna cry 😢 every time I watch this. It so heartbreaking and raw and I dunno what. I need to applaud our Boys! They are such good actors, look at each and every expressions on their face.
If you want to follow along the "story line" so to speak you should watch the Prologue next, and THEN Run, leading into the last one being Young Forever. A lot of people end up messing it up and watching Run after but the correct order is Prologue and THEN Run. Thanks for reacting to the boys man, and yeah drugs really aren't worth the whole "cool" facade some people like to put up. Take 'em if you need 'em but try not to abuse them.
Does Run come before or after I Need U and Highlight Reel? I read a translation of the LY:H album liners yesterday and I'm still trying to figure out where everything goes in the narrative
Actually the are more darker then that Most of there army love them for that They always talk about problems most of the other music don’t mention it problem we get thro I know a lot of army have a bad life but they still want to live because of BTS
this is a music video that changed a lot of people's view on bts. they went from being a happy go lucky kpop band to a band that can express the darker side of life through their music, i think thats what sets them apart from so many other kpop bands or bands in general cos they are realy versatile in their music and dont stick to one genre. they can do it all. im rambling through text but im just so proud like i cant
I DO FEEL GOOSEBUMPS WHENEVER I WATCH OR STREAM THEIR MV'S SPECIALLY I NEED U. BTS' music tackles sensitive issues in the society and experiences youth experience. I have so much respect for them.
EVERY SINGLE TIME I WATCH THIS EVEN THOUGH I'VE DEFINITELY WATCHED THIS MORE THAN A HUNDRED TIME I STILL CRY AT THAT PART, I STILL FEEL FOR THIS SONG BRIS I WILL ALWAYS HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART FOR THIS SONG T___T
Honestly, I can't say how many times I have repeated the I need you original mv But every single time it hits that climax, my heart beats out of my chest and I get goosebumps everywhere It's such a cynical yet beautiful story, and it never ceases to astound me
The video is about Korean boys having too much pressure in life specially in school since when they are in school they have to take a test that will determine their whole life, it’s sad o think about it but a lot of people comité suicide because of the stress and bts is showing us what some people do like J-hope taking pills and jimin drowning himself to v having family issues and suga setting his room in fire they all represent their stress and suicide
I think it's not just for Korean youths but for youths all over the world. There are kids everywhere facing the issues they address in the mv (body issues, drug use/abuse, domestic/child abuse, homelessness, isolation and loneliness, stress, etc). That's part of what makes BTS so profound. Their music and message touches people everywhere.
Hands down, you have the best reactions. I don't even know if your vids should be reactions. They're more like great feedback that I want BTS to receive. You focus on all production qualities in their music videos and their songs, and you also break down on their choreography, vocals and bars. Please continue to do what you do!! Love this!
If you want to know and connect the theories You should watch Prologe, Run and Wings their solo short movies. Because the lyrics have nothing to do with the MV.
There is a chronological order for the story of I Need U (because they made a story). The order is:
- I Need U
- Prologue (it's really like a short film) -> th-cam.com/video/4N7oPqkf6sw/w-d-xo.html
- Run -> th-cam.com/video/5Wn85Ge22FQ/w-d-xo.html
- Young Forever -> th-cam.com/video/HBj4y9Zibao/w-d-xo.html
After, later, they released the short films "Love Yourself Highlight Reel" (just look at the last one which is the compilation of the previous 3 and the final part of the story): www.youtube.com/watch ? v = EHdK5U2hf4o
PandAstiel Thank you so much for including links!
Yeeeees, check this!
Don't forget Wings Short Films and BS&T
María Paula Castro Martínez, yeah it’s true 👍
PandAstiel yeah he needs to watch in order
Shout out to Bris for taking the time to speak about drug abuse. Drugs are not cool kids, drugs will take you, drugs will betray you
lil xan reference?
Pencil Wisdom it’s not just kids. Adults do it too unfortunately
Pencil Wisdom I well never do drugs
Yes!
I swear I see ur comments everytime I watch bris lol
-jhope took the pills as an attempt at suicide (you see him fall unconscious on the bridge but he fails in his attempt and wakes up)
-v comes home to see his father beating his sister, and v kills his dad to protect his sister
-Jimin attempts to drown himself
-suga lights his room on fire (possibly a suicide attempt or just anger)
-jungkook gets beat up after bumping into some mystery people
-rapmon is working at the gas station but he feels as though he is alone and it’s just him against the world
-and Jin is watching his friends suffer while struggling with the weight of being unable to save them from their pain
Also the flashbacks of them together happily fooling around
😭
TwilightsSecrets I think the lilies are representing the members but honestly knowing BigHit I wouldn’t be surprised if it were two metaphors in one. I’m not sure how this is handled in other cultures but where I’m from people call Lilies “death flowers” because they’re often used for funerals and to express sympathy for the loved ones of the person that passed away, so maybe that’s why I’m a little biased towards the “everyone’s dead/ killing them selves except Jin”-theory
Jungkook is also getting hit by a car at the end I think and in the love yourself trailer, you can see he’s in the hospital in a wheelchair too.😭😭
That was v's sister and dad??
In 6:52, I like how you closed your eyes, happily singing, while Jhope fell down and fainted.
Just Jia exactly! I WAS LIKE HOW COULD YOU NOT HAVE CAUGHT THAT
Same. I was like "bruh j hope just fell out."
Lmaooooooooo omg😂
IKR!
right like I got irritated for a hot second like 💀
How he started singing and dancing when J-Hope collapsed... I lost it, I'm dying
Jei mizu and when kookie was getting beaten
I've said this countless times, bts has the best team.
They're the best group in the world
Yeah they sure are. Btw how did u get 2 comments up on top?
Bro like my comment I'm the one who completed ur 1k likes
Not just a team, a family :)
I prefer exo but for the first bts video I saw and listened to...bts is really good
If you loved this dark side of bts then you have a long ride ahead of you. They've made so many deep and dark mv's(and short films) about the dark and the good sides of growing up. They really talk about deep stuff no one else does. Just remember everything happening in the videoes is symbolic 👍
Jimin's jams and suga's kookie 여우 😂😂😂😂😂😂
BTS ARTIST OF THE YEAR YESS TAKE THAT MAMA
the order you should be watching the videos is like this
1. i need you original version
2. prologue
3. run
4. young forever
5. boy meets evil
6. beginn ( short film)
7. lie ( short film)
8. stigma ( short film)
9. first love ( short film)
10. reflection ( short film)
11. mama ( short film)

Wow, are all these MV the same storyline?
You also forgot the Japanese version of Blood Seat & Tears. That one is pretty important to the storyline. Also the Japanese version of I Need U
Highlight reel answer everything
Trust the word 'together' trust that it's bulletproof ..."
Without getting into all of the meaning of the song, just that alone - if it doesn't pump you up and encourage you, I don't know what will. When asked about the craziest or weirdest thing a fan has ever done)...RM even clarified to the interview, "I wouldn't call it weird or crazy..."
THAT is the kind of leader in BTS we have.
Love them.
@@DW-vd9mp I had to double check the username to see if I had already commented on this, lol, because that is so me too!💜

Rule #1 when watching ANY BTS video:
Do. Not. Look. Away.
EVER.
Be careful even when you blink. There is just too much detail and too many amazing bits that will completely blow by.
Raise your hand and repeat after me: I will NOT. look away.
xil2048 lmao , totally my thought 😂
I feel like most BTS songs are talking about social problems (or have a mild "dark" concept) no one in K-Pop (or media in general) ever talks about. One of the reasons I love them so much, actually, they aren't afraid to dive deep and discuss topics most artists shy away from.
Ashton Day
It's a bit ig orant to say "no one" in K-pop, because there are other artists who do.
BTS has found a perfect balance of being able to sing/rap about current issues without offending anyone....that is a tough line to walk, but they do it well.
this boy just got so into the whole drug thing and then closed his eyes right as j hope dropped dead from a overdose lmfao. was waiting for him to see it then doesn't see it at all rip jhope and his acting skills :'(
edit: although he missed that part his whole reaction to this was gold because its basically how I reacted to it too :')
I laughed when he did that 😂😂
he aint dead but glad u understood
HE WAS JAMMIN SO HARD HE DIDNT EVEN SEE JK OR HOBI COLLAPSE💀💀

Yes!! I been waiting for him to react to this one cause it's a masterpiece!
This is the cool sides of BTS. They talk about every common problem in life (not everything but you get what I mean). Anxiety, Suicide , Education System, Love , Hate. This is why so many people relate to BTS.
Roger Na-Yeon Hoseok
If you watch clearly each members in that video « I need you » are dying inside or self harm themselves.
Suicide are the main theme of HYYH because even if you can’t see it now, and if you are in the worst situation, maybe with some help, one day you will find happiness again.
rebby koudo 👏👏👏😭
Roger Na-Yeon Hoseok In Yoongi's mixtape, he has a song called The Last and he talks about his depression and how he tried commited suicide
AH ok sorry !
Park MinnieMin I think his character has narcolepsy. That's what Hobi said when they were shooting this mv.
BTS is LEGENDARY
ZeuS BTS. YES THEY ARE LEGENDARY >w
You mean lejindary^o^
Annie gacha I WAS ABT TO SAY THAT
Say it louder... AMEN
indeed
Just revisiting...and even now, this MV still hits differently and send shivers, like I'm watching it for the very first time. Definitely a masterpiece.
lol 😂 Bris, you just entered the deepest darkest shit. this music video continues with story line connected to every music videos with short films from albums HYYH+WINGS+YNWA, you’ll get crazier and crazier the more you follow the story.

This! 😂
Someone need to explain the theory for him. kkkk oh my kkk thats so crazy!
he need to see all these videos !!
Wait yall didn't warn him about the theories? Oh damn
U need to react in order, from I Need U, Prologue, Run, and Young Forever. These are series of MV from previous BTS Album The Most Beautiful Moment In Life which has storyline in it, and there's a bunch of THEORIES and Analysis from those mvs in that era. Everything is connected, and it successfully made army smarter than FBI lol..
nwidianti so true! Army are true detectives
Dead with the comparison to the FBI lmao
The best line. Army smarter than FBI lol
It's funny that the 1st real vid you saw of theirs was DNA... that's the COLOURFUL video that we never saw coming lol.
We've always seem them dark
p.s. ALL BTS vids have CC
almost all*
Dark and wild :)
Man as a long time army I feel like I haven't properly watched I need u in a while and I am just getting emotional
It's like I'm time-traveling with Jin :D
it also was their first music show win and helped kick start them towards the global super stars they r today :O
"the BTS mindfuck" the most accurate phrase ever said
*_'mindfuck' XD-that's so accurate the word 'accurate' isn't even accurate enough for it XD..._*
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ you have described my existence around BTS with “mindfuck”... I still do try to come up with a proper theory but every time I feel like grasping it, it fades away... it’s crazy.
THERE'S A WHOLE TRIOLOGY AND STORY LINE FOR THE MV'S IN THIS SERIES YOU LIKE HAVE TO REACT TO THEM ALLLL
AngelStuff3 yeah I rate he watches the entire series in one go
@@kateheartskpop2540 as punishment for closing his eyes and missing JHope collapse & Suga pour the gas out!
I'm dying that he missed that
The drug scene was meant to show Jhope's depression in the video. Not to make him look cool. He didn't even swallow them.
No actually he has a condition that makes him pass out
@ManInA BlackSuit in the storyline, yes
Either that or he’s pretending to have a condition.
Save me from the theories
I need u then you should watch prologue then run then...
okay I think enough for the theory just enjoy the video
VeralynPoetry Lasut yeah..also don't forget to let the MV Run end it self because you know..the end when jimin holding some pict then jin was dissapears when holding it
(Im sorry for my english tho)
VeralynPoetry Lasut yess
DONT FORGET THE EPILOGUE... YOUNG FOREVER
Hitman B Yasss YOUNG FOREVER IS LITERALLY MY ANTHEM

We (ARMY) have been involved in theories for three years 😂 to understand this "story", and this is just 1 video xD you can and need see the others videos to understand... But even if we still don't know the sequence of the story, or the "missing" parts, I only have one answer: BANGTAN always talks / sings about the real problems that people can have (especially young) They have helped many with their music and messages (me included) this is their purpose 💕
P.S. Sorry for my english :v
Claudita - DAEBAK! What do you mean sorry for your English I thought it was your first language until you said sorry

Really? OMG ^^ I do my best 😅
i can't believe it's been 3 years...
Your English is amazing! Never feel sorry for any mistakes. The fact you learned another language is beautiful in itself 😊 keep on going! As for your description, that was also beautiful!
You're English is great, is it not your first language?
I know how you feel. As an adult who passed the youth, this I Need You MV presented 360 degree of youth. Happiness ( when they are all together=Jin is the main entity and other six are his emotions), sadness (Jimin in the bathtub), anger/lost love (Suga at a motel), depression(J-hope), struggling for surviving (RM), wandering (Jungkook), fighting/killing alcoholic father who's abusing his sister (V). I see 'I need you girl" in this lyric girl as la vie, life in French. That's why I Need You stirs my emotion like tornado!
Rainbow this is deep. Loved how you explain the concept of the video.
Okay so this video, oh dear there is so much and so many things and details and cinematography. There are also so many theories, but as I understand it this is the core and most surface level explination for this era of BTS;
Youth is fleeting, there may be a moment where you find yourself among friends surrounded by laughter only to find that the next moment you are alone to face your abusers, adult life, reality and yourself.
(because in Korea often times issues like juvenile delinquency and mental health are just brushed off, labled an annoyance or childish)
Yes this is absolutely one of the darker MV's they've produced, and there is actually plenty more.
He should react to "Prologue" first & then "Run". That's the right sequence.
Yes IN ORDER WITH SUBTITLES! "Prologue" then "Run" there is an order, and then the WINGS short films after OMG someone put in the full video in order for the man!
Taehyung! Why u always Triggering my pearls yes!! in order
"Prologue" then "Run" and then "Young Forever"
Isn't it Prologue then Run?
My guy missed half the video just jammin’ to the song 😂😂😂
Like he didn’t even peep them all tryna kill themselves 😂😂😭😭
(p.s. This is the start of a *HUGE* era in BTS history, and was the start of putting BTS on the kpop map)
frs he didn't notice 😂😂
ivyleaf33 SAME. SAME
YES LOL IKR THAT PART I NEED BRIS TO LOOK AT THE MV AGAIN OMG
Danielle Brown i
It’s a sad song but at the same time dope beat so I can’t blame briss for jamming to it
Bris:enjoying the song
BTS in the MV: _DYING_
😂😂😂
Infires Man especially at 6:53, I thought no one else noticed lmao
All i have to say is welcome to the army
the thing is the side of bts u know is not the main side of them,.. sure hype music and lit, swag ones are bts specialties since they started on heavy hip hop based music.. also DNA, mic drop, gogo, cypher series are more on the happy(lit) side just talkin abt themselves or critisizing society but I NEED U, RUN, prologue, epilogue, spring day mv and songs are what BTS is fighting for. this is y they are usin their platform to talk abt real issues, real social issues that concern youths all over the world. im sure some or almost every army would relate to what their represent in these videos and what their message is towards people their age. thats why we follow them. this side of bts is why we still continue to follow them. their 2 years long series of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS IN LIFE PT1,PT2.
There's* love my typos
I HOPE HE SEES THIS
theories???!!! WHERE OMG
deadpools everywhere in Every MV 😂 just google it you will catch everything
*THIS SONG HAS SUCH DEEP MEANING, FIRST IT BROUGHT BTS ALL THE SUCCESS, ALL GOOD THINGS HAPPENING TO THEM STARTED WITH 'I NEED U'.*
*SECOND, YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE CONTINUATION: BTS - PROLOGUE ENG SUB, BTS - RUN MV, BTS - YOUNG FOREVER.*
*THIRD, THE BEAT IS JUST SO FUCKING GOOD, THE LYRICS, THE MUSIC VIDEO IS BEYOND GOO, EVERYTHING IS SO ARTISTIC.*
i would like to tell you about the part with hope taking pills. so, hope has a condition where he would randomly pass out I think... and he really wants to get rid of it. the doctors put him on mess to help with this condition. but he's so desperate, that he would overdose and hope it would go away faster. that is the reason in sure.
irl?
@@aliciaavery2302 no, just in the storyline. It would make sense, because you can see something similar in his "mama" clip.
You are correct, big hit confirmed that
I love BTS because of this. They make songs having to do with anxiety, depression etc. But the message they are giving is that you should love yourself. These boys are legends
Your background song is Go Go and it’s amazing😂
is that like an Instrumental ver. or kind of remix?
El K it sounds like an instrumental
ok, thank you)) I just wanna to precise))
El K you’re welcome☺️
And save me
Yes, it's just like a movie indeed. And it actually connects and continue to other mv in this order:
I need you > prologue > run > epilogue:young forever > wings short films > blood sweat and tears > highlight reel
Mela Putri I saw a theory and the theory says that boy in luv, danger, and other songs are also related, I really wanna know the real deal
also the japanese blood sweat and tears it has alot alot alot of the story
YOU NEED TO REACT TO THEIR MAMA 2017 PERFORMANCE RIGHT NOW
3 PARTS UPLOADED BY MNET K-POP
START WITH INTRO, THEN DNA, THEN MIC DROP. MIC DROP IS LIT. THEY ADDED MORE DANCE BREAKS. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
I felt the same way as you did the first time I saw that MV :D
soundmasterjee looking into this!!! Thanks!
I'm happy to help :D
Did V really do that?
Good if he did his father deserved it. Abusive people deserve all the bad in the world.
Braunswoggle Isn't Finished With You! In the story that they created he did. ^^ The Notes and the Highlight Reels are about that too!
i think the women in this video is the mother of v alias demian...cuz the mother of demiam was a widow but in the book it was nerver explained how her husband died...and maybe big hit interpreted it this way
welcome to the serious side of BTS. it gets darker.
YOU JUST FALL INTO BTS DIFFICULT THEORY. WELCOME, HAPPY THINKING
This 16+ bts mv is like a "welcome" sign to the maze of theories of bts plot
Everytime you ask " you know what i mean "...
Me: I know
even tho the mv is like 4 years old i still cry every time 😭
This is my favorite song from BTS. This is what got me hooked at first 2 years ago. BTW the person V stabbed was his father because he was abusive toward his sister.
Derfla13 this song will always have a place in my heart because it's what got me sucked into this hellhole of a kpop fan almost 3 years ago
I saw fire first which is what got me hooked on bts and kpop but this is my favorite song. Powerful message
My suggestion, to understand the story more, or less lmao, is to watch the Prologue, then Run, then Epilogue: Young Forever
(Edit: After the HYYH/Most Beautiful Moment in Life videos, next are the Wings, and then the Love Yourself Highlight Reels. lol Good luck.)
fatherlouiswilliamssuga adamsjr.thethird What is HYYH?
If you look at the cover of both the BTS albums "The Most Beautiful Moment in Live" part 1 and 2...the title is written in Chinese. I don't speak or read Chinese, but, I guess is pronouced " Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa " or shortened to HYYH.
Opps...The Most Beautiful Moment in Life.
Heidi Japan haha yeah
this is why bts are such special artists. they cover the deep stuff of growing up, and not just the perks and fun side of it. they talk about social issues which people often like to set aside and ignore- they like to address issues which many teenagers go through (which explains why many relate and love them). this part of the era talks about the ‘dark side’ of growing up but later on they start to cover more on ‘freedom’ etc (songs like fire- we can see them just letting loose and partying etc) For me, this is one of the main reasons i love them. they are not just artists who sing about sex or love or whatever, they actually use their platform to raise awareness and help others to relate to their music. in their wings album, they even have a song about women power (21st century girls) - knowing they’re a group of 7 MALE members. i just love them.
YES!!!! I'm so happy you are reacting to this video, this MV is what got me into BTS, they weren't singing about the typical love songs, but they were exploring the the hardships of youth, I wasn't into kpop at all, but thanks to this I slowly became a fan of BTS
Preach tho like don’t do drugs guys
No Snakeu why do we need drugs to get high and forget about life when there's BTS right?
Thank you for your positive message at the beginning about drugs! Also, just for clarification the person that V stabbed was his alcoholic dad who was beating up V's sister. There are a lot of fan theories about what's going on in these videos.
FangirlAlice I was crying through out the video
There is a theory behind their videos which actually may not go with the lyrics but it tells another back story about BTS. I think it starts with BTS Stage: Prologue?? Not quite sure... I'm not really well versed in it so I hope another Army can fill in the rest... 😀😀😀😀
Heina Wolfgramm the correct order is INeed U, then Prologue, then Run. You gotta watch in that order Bris!
Ahhh Gotcha!! Thank you for the clarification 😊😊😊
It's I NEED U, Prologue, Run, Young Forever, Wings Short films, BTS wings individual songs (just because I want to see you react to their beautiful solo's), Highlight Reels.
You can also watch the Japanese Versions of some of these MVs as the MV is different but it still connects to the story.
rosiesaysanime ...👍 thank you!
Heina Wolfgramm It's fine, I was super into the theories even though it gives me a headache.
I always got chill to your reaction about this.
BTS are LEGENDARY, I keep smiling
Did somebody tell him yet that everything is connected? That's important lol
[pauses video for a drug psa]
How sweet 😊
You mentioned before about falling into the BTS rabbit hole, but you really hadn't yet. THIS... THIS is the BTS rabbit hole. The BTS Universe they created starting with this MV. I hope you're following the webtoon!
That part made me feel weird and it just felt like the members were really showing how they felt when the person they love left them no matter how dark it is.
i need u's era is when BTS found their true color ..yes they were really good before it too but after i need u that's the beggining of legendary BTS just a peesonal opinion ^_^
you'd like to watch Run mv too it's like a sequel to I need u
*REACT TO THEIR MAMA 2017 PERFORMANCE, ESPECIALLY MIC DROP. IT WAS LIIIIT 🔥*
Marta Winnik 👐👐👐👐👐 their MAMA performance opening with Cypher 4 and then Mic Drop was THE BEST I have seen of theirs.
Honestly no matter how many times we watch a BTS M/V we will almost always get goosbumps and feel a chill
I love your reactions , because you always say things that was on my mind watching MV's for the first time. Lots of love from Lithuania !
You need to watch Run by bts
He needs to see how the bts videos are connected lol
Actually the are more darker then that
Most of there army love them for that
They always talk about problems most of the other music don’t mention it problem we get thro
I know a lot of army have a bad life but they still want to live because of BTS
Every single day I'm realising how LEGENDARY BTS are!
this is a music video that changed a lot of people's view on bts. they went from being a happy go lucky kpop band to a band that can express the darker side of life through their music, i think thats what sets them apart from so many other kpop bands or bands in general cos they are realy versatile in their music and dont stick to one genre. they can do it all. im rambling through text but im just so proud like i cant
I DO FEEL GOOSEBUMPS WHENEVER I WATCH OR STREAM THEIR MV'S SPECIALLY I NEED U. BTS' music tackles sensitive issues in the society and experiences youth experience. I have so much respect for them.
plz react bts on stage : prologue you will know the story of whole album...
Honestly, I can't say how many times I have repeated the I need you original mv
But every single time it hits that climax, my heart beats out of my chest and I get goosebumps everywhere
It's such a cynical yet beautiful story, and it never ceases to astound me
“I can never get enough of BTS” Definitely me 😂❤️
I cried the first time I watched it...like..a deep cry lol
MKIT POUR // Same 😂
Same here.
No thats a lie, i even still cry watching it now 😅
MKIT POUR i usually don't watch this video, too emotional; i was in tears this time, too
MKIT POUR same tho!! I still get so emotional when I watch this lol
Yall know what song got me emotional today at work? Spring day lmao
it has theories so u should watch the other mv to understand(ive watched thousand times but still dont understand)
For their society there’s a lot more I’m not saying but that was it basically is
Also it’s for boys and girls 😅 forgot to include that
Well, it's actually a series. Like a movie.
Not really just about school either..just youths facing problems
Hands down, you have the best reactions. I don't even know if your vids should be reactions. They're more like great feedback that I want BTS to receive. You focus on all production qualities in their music videos and their songs, and you also break down on their choreography, vocals and bars. Please continue to do what you do!! Love this!
I definitely felt the chills watching this whole mv, but you're right the climax is crazy
You need to react to their solo videos and some other videos like Run, the Love myself short stories to try and connect the theories
*Next to the trilogy is BTS: on stage prologue, then Run music video* they have an order, watch it correctly please haha
If you want to know and connect the theories You should watch Prologe, Run and Wings their solo short movies. Because the lyrics have nothing to do with the MV.
Jungshook
I’ve this mv so many times but every single during the climax my breath stops and heart speeds up, I feel a deep connection to the song and video.
