This whole HYYH series (Prologue, I Need You, Run, Epilogue, etc) is meant to show the complexity of growing up: of moving from the innocence and joy of childhood into the uncertainty and sometimes darkness of adulthood. But these videos have transcended the category of "regular music video" for me-- they are art. The combination of aesthetic, incredible cinematography and a really emotionally gripping score come together and take you on that journey. And of course, BTS-- these boys, at the time this came out, were all around 17-24, right in the heart of that transition, and their performance here reflects that. They have amazing chemistry as a group, which is one of the things I think is most liked about them universally, and so every moment between them feels honest and real. Nothing is forced-- honestly it wouldn't surprise me if the director had been like "okay guys, just go fuck around for a couple of hours by yourselves and I'll just randomly film you sometimes."

Run is infact the next video in the series. In I Need U original V stabbed his abusive alcoholic father when he was beating his sister. In this video, when he's looking at the small photo in his hand it's of a man holding a baby. Presumably of his father holding him. Also, at the end of the credits, is an important clip that you missed that hints at something much larger going on in the background of the videos stories. To touch lightly on something you may not have noticed in I Need U or Epilogue, is Jin. He did not have any type of destructive behavior in I Need U like the others, and in this he was taking many pictures. He is an important figure in these videos to take note of.
I love that we all got the opportunity to see a man who had no idea what he was getting into when he watched DNA, slowly fall deeply in love with BTS like we all did. He is the embodiment of a true fan because he loves not only BTS but also many others, and he isn't just using BTS for views
I really like that you feel nostalgic when you watch the video. I think that's what the era was about. The 4 Chinese characters translate roughly into "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life", and I think it's talking about how our youth was full of beautiful moments which we took for granted, and we only realize later. But this idea can be extended to encompass every moment that we are living now which passes by almost unnoticed until we look back in the future to realize that these too were the most beautiful moments in life.
So all the BTS prologues, highlight reels, music videos, and whatnot put together make a whole BTS movie with plot and symbolism and all this other stuff. Something cool about Kpop is that all bands have what they call a 'concept' and everything they produce reflects it. Its pretty dope. I think BTS' concept is youth and generational issues and they follow their concepts pretty well and add to it in really interesting ways. I like to say BTS makes art.
Nah nobody's going to hate you for having an opinion. I feel the same. Sometimes I wish new non kpop fans would watch their earlier stuff (wings, the most beautiful moment in life etc) instead of watching their rather "trendy" stuff to get the real bts feel. The newer stuff is great but I miss the old days.

somethings Bris should take note of: Ur right that Tae has his friends to support him, but after their good memories, some bad stuff definitely happens. The Blood Sweat n Tears MV was an abstract take on the boys and their emotions/psyches. You know that Tae (winged back guy) and the demon statue were connected, so something related to him is the cause of the downfall of their group. 6:22 Yoongi thinking of burning things again (hes a pyro) Jin is never actively participating, only documenting their times together through camera. Hes always by their side but not getting invovled. Like the beach scene, he didnt run out like the others, hes just hanging back with his camera. we think the videos are him remembering their past memories, and he cant do anything to change what happened (like Taehyung killing his dad). In other videos, lots of photo burning is present, and it relates to memories. Sometimes, pictures that were taken of Jin had him disappeared, so there is a empty space in the place he should have been.
In kpop it is very common for idols to act in dramas and movies.. the one in the first scene is V (Kim Taehyung) and he recently did a kdrama "Hawarang". His acting was... um adorable to say the least. Jin (the oldest) has majored in acting and art at Konkuk University. BTS recently released "Highlight reel" a sort of thematic series that centres around the concept of "loving yourself"...it is connected to i need you+ prologue (the whole story ) series as well. You should watch it once you know about the whole story in i need u+prologue+run+epilogue+wings(short films and finally blood sweat and tears)

just wanted to let you know that the theory going around back then is that either jin is dead and his friends are struggling and started being suicidal after their loss or that jin is the only one alive and the rest of the members died and all these moments with the rest of the members were a product of his imagination and last but not least the final theory which is what most of us believe and youll understand more in the future is that ALL the members are Jin struggling they are all his alter egos, the abusive family, bad behavior, mental issues, suicidal tendencies are all represented through each member but they are all part of jin since u never saw him actually going through bad stuff. In my opinion....'Butterfly' is the best and the most beautiful song among their slow songs because it carries so many stories behind it. Never take a BTS video for granted; they always go the extra mile to make this Trilogy and the story videos that follow it engrossing for us. If you think the video has ended but you notice on the timer bar that there are still 4 or 5 more minutes left, KEEP WATCHING! It's the same in the BS&T Japanese Version; there's a very important scene at the end that harkens right back to the PROLOGUE! It's all connected. In I Need U original V stabbed his abusive alcoholic father when he was beating his sister. In this video, when he's looking at the small photo in his hand it's of a man holding a baby. Presumably of his father holding him.
Also, at the end of the credits, is an important clip that you missed that hints at something much larger going on in the background of the videos stories. To touch lightly on something you may not have noticed in I Need U or Epilogue, is Jin. He did not have any type of destructive behavior in I Need U like the others, and in this he was taking many pictures. He is an important figure in these videos to take note of.
I love that we all got the opportunity to see a man who had no idea what he was getting into when he watched DNA, slowly fall deeply in love with BTS like we all did. He is the embodiment of a true fan because he loves not only BTS but also many others, and he isn't just using BTS for views
I really like that you feel nostalgic when you watch the video. I think that's what the era was about. The 4 Chinese characters translate roughly into "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life", and I think it's talking about how our youth was full of beautiful moments which we took for granted, and we only realize later. But this idea can be extended to encompass every moment that we are living now which passes by almost unnoticed until we look back in the future to realize that these too were the most beautiful moments in life.
So all the BTS prologues, highlight reels, music videos, and whatnot put together make a whole BTS movie with plot and symbolism and all this other stuff. Something cool about Kpop is that all bands have what they call a 'concept' and everything they produce reflects it. Its pretty dope. I think BTS' concept is youth and generational issues and they follow their concepts pretty well and add to it in really interesting ways. I like to say BTS makes art.
I know y'all are gonna hate me for saying this but...I really like that kind of concept in BTSs artistic works better *I kinda miss those times*

Nah nobody's going to hate you for having an opinion. I feel the same. Sometimes I wish new non kpop fans would watch their earlier stuff (wings, the most beautiful moment in life etc) instead of watching their rather "trendy" stuff to get the real bts feel. The newer stuff is great but I miss the old days.
It is okay, everyone have their own preferences, and as for me the fact that BTS can pull of this concept and also no need to mention hard concept as they own it! I love this duality that BTS have. That is what BTS is and they shaped their own color😊😊😊

Ur right that Tae has his friends to support him, but after their good memories, some bad stuff definitely happens. The Blood Sweat n Tears MV was an abstract take on the boys and their emotions/psyches. You know that Tae (winged back guy) and the demon statue were connected, so something related to him is the cause of the downfall of their group.

Jin is never actively participating, only documenting their times together through camera. Hes always by their side but not getting invovled. Like the beach scene, he didnt run out like the others, hes just hanging back with his camera. we think the videos are him remembering their past memories, and he cant do anything to change what happened (like Taehyung killing his dad).
In other videos, lots of photo burning is present, and it relates to memories. Sometimes, pictures that were taken of Jin had him disappeared, so there is a empty space in the place he should have been.
In kpop it is very common for idols to act in dramas and movies.. the one in the first scene is V (Kim Taehyung) and he recently did a kdrama "Hawarang". His acting was... um adorable to say the least. Jin (the oldest) has majored in acting and art at Konkuk University. BTS recently released "Highlight reel" a sort of thematic series that centres around the concept of "loving yourself"...it is connected to i need you+ prologue (the whole story ) series as well. You should watch it once you know about the whole story in i need u+prologue+run+epilogue+wings(short films and finally blood sweat and tears)

just wanted to let you know that the theory going around back then is that either jin is dead and his friends are struggling and started being suicidal after their loss or that jin is the only one alive and the rest of the members died and all these moments with the rest of the members were a product of his imagination and last but not least the final theory which is what most of us believe and youll understand more in the future is that ALL the members are Jin struggling they are all his alter egos, the abusive family, bad behavior, mental issues, suicidal tendencies are all represented through each member but they are all part of jin since u never saw him actually going through bad stuff. This is why most of us love bts, they adress serious issues that are so taboo specially in korea, they aim to be the voice for those who need it and bring awareness to these topics even before debut like 99% of the song have meaning even the fun songs
In my opinion....'Butterfly' is the best and the most beautiful song among their slow songs because it carries so many stories behind it. Hey Terry! As I'm sure you know by now, there was an important scene AFTER the credits at the end of PROLOGUE! Never take a BTS video for granted; they always go the extra mile to make this Trilogy and the story videos that follow it engrossing for us. If you think the video has ended but you notice on the timer bar that there are still 4 or 5 more minutes left, KEEP WATCHING! It's the same in the BS&T Japanese Version; there's a very important scene at the end that harkens right back to the PROLOGUE! It's all connected.
After RUN and YOUNG FOREVER, go to SAVE ME (and take the time to watch the "making-of" video for it; it shows their true dedication to their work and has some funny moments as well), FIRE, then JHope's Intro to the WINGS album, BOY MEETS EVIL, then BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS, then the 7 short films which feature their solos, then you could choose to react to the 7 full songs by themselves or maybe some fancams of their performances at one of the WINGS concerts. Man watching this with you brings back memories of me when I found out about them and HYYH part 2 being the first comeback I experienced of BTS. 😭😭😭 this was such a beautiful era the HYYH era that I miss it. But I love how all mvs of theirs connects to tell a big story. It’s like each album and MV is a piece to the HUGE puzzle that’s the masterpiece of BIGHIT and BTS.

"The most beautiful moment in live part 2" is still my favourite album of BTS so far. Not because their newer music has not impressed me, but because the memories linked to this era. This was my very first come back with them, my very first album. I never knew they could mean so much to me.
bts does a short comedy skit called house of army but I think you need to watch that after watching the introduction of bts. Because it has alot of inside jokes and it would be a wast if you didn't know some of the jokes

Ma City is the only hype song from these, it's about the cities they came from and it's one of my favorite BTS songs.
