i heard multiple times that their official claim is that they are letting you hear the noises cuz you can feel more engaging with your driving. i belief its partially true, some people will want some of that, but on the other hand, i think it could be they didnt have enough money or didnt want to invest more for noise sealing. anyway this is just a minor issue to me if i want to buy one of the Mazdas
Even after driving both civic hatch and mazda3 hatch. I'm still split on both. I felt like the civic was faster and handled a little better (probably since I was pushing it a little more)
+ziggy72170 I would say the speakers were “good” I wouldn’t go as far and say impressive. But this is a personal preference item. If sound really matters to you and you really want the Mazda 3 you can always upgrade with after market speakers if the stock ones don’t live up to your expectations.
I'm sorry, but that cabin is not quiet. I can hear what I think is road or tire noise. Also, I can hear the engine when you stepped on it. All this noise at just 2500 to 3000 RPM's.
Maurice McKie For this price, class of car, it is on the more quiet end of what is available. It's all perspective. To him, it may seem more quiet if he isn't used to driving more luxury cars.

pwrshots I'm not sure if mine is Bose or not I thought they switched to Bose after a certain year for all models, if it isn't bise, it still sounds nice

Personally, I would pick the Mazda 3. I like the styling and the option for AWD that they have now. But everyone has their own preferences.

Also, microphones seem to be more sensitive in car cabins than the average human ear
Maurice McKie I have the 2018 GT Mazda 3..the engine sounds awesome, and yes there is cabin noise..its not a Cadillac
have the '17 gt hatch, and love the sound of hearing the engine when accelerating ~

Qezt Nest drive a 2001 Tacoma, then say it's loud, I think my Mazda is quiet compared to my last car
our 2016.5 is quiet. especially when you turn up the BOSE system.

It's not manual transmission..!!!
Eric it's and all of them now are manual transmission with electronic shifting.
They have a double clutch for the automatic transmission.
