This was the song that made me want to play drums way back in my teens. I’m 42 now and decided it’s time to give it a go. I’m hoping to be able to play this song by the time I’m 50, but having just watched you play it through, I’m not optimistic 😂 So much going on! Excellent stuff.
Go for it - consistency, repetition, having a good practice plan, having fun, and working in that "improvement zone" are the variables of success IMO. Thanks for watching :)

@@1dle1ndustries I made some pretty good progress in the first few months, then it slowed down some. I’m still going though, still making progress and importantly, still enjoying it. Get stuck into it, persevere but mostly, enjoy!

Very good my man!!! It's funny that you mentioned the eighth notes at like 200 bpm or whatever. I played a very "fake it till ya make it" version of this song when I was in my 20s. I hadn't learned push/pul yet, so I just played the accents. The fills were probably noticeably wrong but...THAT'S THE JOURNEY IMO! You play songs your whole life and as time goes on with more practice, the songs get closer to the way they actually go. THAT'S A GREAT FEELING!!! As you mentioned, it might not be note for note but after years and years of practice...it gets very close...😁🥁🎵🎵🎵🎵🔥

I don't! This is how I'd simplify it...
Quarter notes on hi-hat instead of 8th notes.
8th notes instead of 16ths on fills
Otherwise follow the form/move between hi-hat and ride as here. Cheers!
