sure has been awhile since ive made one of these style videos, Hope you all like it! There may be more information that I missed, so feel free to share it down below, as alot of info about these towns that werent, is obscure and hard to come-by, and often comes by word of mouth, of which there is little as most people that lived there have passed away.

First years of my life were in Hamlen County and Grainger County. Great times for sure.

Your videos are great. I have always lived in East TN, and just moved to Sevierville recently. Visited Douglas Dam a few weeks ago, and I've just been amazed by the history.

Great video! Wish it was longer and showed the topographic maps of Noeton, Rocky Summit and Crosby. Btw, the Caleb Crosby threshing barn was dismantled, moved and reassembled about a mile southeast of Norris Dam (next to the Lenoir Museum). I checked it out up there a few weeks ago. Really cool!

the last Picture of the Kidwells store is a picture of my Great Great Grandfather who drank himself to death shortly after the water came up. Over 3/4 of that generation committed suicide or drank themselves to death within a few years of the flood. My grandmothers generation was sent to the factories to make the bombs, or were sent straight to the meat grinder of the pacific and European conflicts. What you failed to mention was that HItler sent a delegation to east Tn in 38 to study the efficiency of the social engineering operation of TVA. for every dollar they spent on land acquisition and infrastructure, they spent 3 dollars on socially engineering the population to work in the military industrial complex's factories.. somebody do a history flick on that please.

Life isn't fair Jon. That saying has given me solace in my own life over 56 years. As a transplant, I tip my hat to those Tennesseans whose lives were massively disrupted by the changes here through the TVA. However, I'm certainly happy to not be writing in German or Japanese right now. 😂
This federal govt has probably destroyed as much or perhaps even more than it has created. As an example: The people we elect (and those they appoint) have spent 14+ years destroying the notion of saving through 0% interest rates while simultaneously destroying the value of paper currency. With it, they've destroyed countless people who used to think of themselves as "middle class". 😞 I see it, I KNOW IT, someday everyone will get it.

Excellent! Could you provide the source of the maps you show of the original river path and homesteads (beginning at 2:55)? I had several ancestors displaced and would like to see if I can locate their farms.

I used this website, the maps are the TVA survey maps where they were trying to determine the floodplane of the river
