Only takes one chop of a knife blade to cut a counter top...(onion)..this will dis color over time because moisture will enter from the cut and bacteria will find a new home. Cutting on a plate....food will slide all over and you could CUT your hand. Other than that....😳.....YOU ARE LEARNING...l subscribed. You are a brave soul for putting this online with all of us "OLE" cooks out here. 🤗 Looks good and easy.....plus you can add to it .... if you want. BRAVO.

I've never ever added a suggestion to a recipe on TH-cam but this just calls out for the following: Serve this on a bed of hot, steamed sauerkraut, Dijon or sweet mustard on the side and to drink, either a nice, smooth pilsner or (oftentimes for the ladies) a cold glass of Riesling wine! I had this exact dish in Strasbourg, Alsace and it was just as good as your recipe looks! In French this is called called choucroute garnie. It's the national dish of Alsace! Bon appetit!

Looks good. Only thing is you don't need to stir up a Crockpot. Just " set it & forget it ". Every time you open the lid, it actually increases the cooking time by as much as 30 minutes. ( Many cookbooks that were written for Crockpot use will verify this). Also, if you spray the pot with non stick cooking spray, it helps make clean up easier. ( or use a Crockpot liner.)

Actually the opposite is more likely. That plate is basically glass, so every time the knife blade hits it, it dulls the crap out of the knife.

We have a version of that meal in the south we call potato and sausage stew. Same ingredients except we add some roux, (equal oil and flour) and add water or vegetable stock and serve over rice. Make sure the liquid cover the potatoes and sausage in the pot and in the severing bowl with rice.
