I have viewed the LaPorte vs Sanchez bout many times and its clear LaPorte won that bout. Beat Sanchez. The announcers covering this are way off. Here, Juan LaPorte *KOs* the great Lockridge.
Just went back more than 40 years. I was 14-15 when I watched this on LIVE TV in Hoboken, NJ in my brother's store which was below the Hoboken boxing gym. Grew up with the greats of NJ in the gym. Nino Gonzalez, Elijah Tillery, Gerald Hayes, Lockeridge, and many others. My brother managed and trained Adolfo Viruet.
We're in the same age group. I was a young teenager watching this live on CBS across the river in the Bronx. That was the golden age of boxing in my opinion. And I remember all the names you mentioned here in your comment. I miss those times.
@@vector8310 Tony Ayala Jr, Bobby Cyzz, LaPorte, Eusebio Pedroza, Ruben Castillo, Arguello, Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Dwight Braxton, Mustafa Hamsho, and many more on CBS boxing Saturdays.
🤔 lazy? Lazy fighters don't take Sal Sanchez and Chavez into deep waters and go the distance with them even landing sev shots of their own. 👌🏽 though 🤷🏽♂️
@@user-hv6sb3kg9g I didn't say he was always lazy. But when he fought McGuigan and Gomez especially, you got the idea that if he would just punch, he could have won. But in two of the biggest fights in his life, he was lazy.
I'm Laporte oldest son and that was a great fight. Pops needs more respect on his name. Let's go champ💪🏾
Came to watch this after I saw a post from your brother Noel on an ig post. God damn your pops combination was nice.
LaPorte is never mentioned in discussions about the great Puerto Rican fighters, yet he fought them all and was never stopped and gave them all hell.

Yes kids, top ranked fighters used to fight each other back in the good old days.

Ambos perdieron en varías ocasiones con Eusebio Pedroza
Ambos también perdieron con Chavez.
5:37 The often overlooked *Juan* *LaPorte* KOs the great boxer R. Lockridge.
LaPorte right hook knocks Lockridge out cold.
Laporte very strong allways
Lock ridge was like a lot of Joe Frazier wannabes he did not have a punch and he did not have much of a chin
Why did Laporte never reach the top echelon firefighters?
Why did Laporte never reach the top echelon of fighters?
A strange knockout. Lochridge had a very good chin and LaPorte could be very lazy in the ring. But for one night, he was spot on.
