The fact that Micthers won despite having the lowest proof gives a lot of credit to their low barrel entry proof. The whole idea is to get more flavor from the barrel into the bottle. I've got their BP rye but not the bourbon. I did get to taste some Michters 20 yr though, heaven in a glass.
I'm not sure I'd say that. I'll have to dive into answering that question. In my mind the Michter's Toasted Sour Mash was better, but never had them side by side. WTMK Decades is right up there along with Russell's 13, GTS, and maybe others. The other problem is my palate keeps changing over the years so 🤷♂️
This just proves that taste is so subjective. Michter's is a great distillery, but no way I'm picking that blind over Stagg Daddy or Weller Full Proof. I have not had that Four Gate or King of Kentucky. You really are the Michter's guy.
Big fan of how you continue to snag new bottles b it still compare them to old favorites. Most just compare a bottle to previous batches/versions, which I like too, but 90% of the time I want to know how it stacks up to similar bottles/flavor profiles. You guys are great!
I would. It's got some really nice dark cherry notes for something that old. And,, Especially since they're hard to find now I'd grab it. The new 16yr just came out and it's $40-$50 more... if you can find it.
Man, David, when we started watching Whiskey Row, my wife always called you "the Michter's guy"...and you live up to that label again! The Weller Full Proof is a great pour and one of my favorites (even though I didn't care for Weller 12 year). Cheers Guys!
This was such a fun watch! Blinds like these are never not fun but they’re also useful for viewers to see how some of the hyper rare products stack up. Great video all around!
I'm in shock KoK came in last! Never had it tho. Truly a dream blind. Have tried Stagg so the idea of something better is mind blowing. Also recently tried William Larue Weller for the first time and it was also epic.
Honestly its probably the proof that caused that outcome. You should use RO water to proof down to the level Michters is at, and then compare. That would be a more comparable test IMO.
@@theonerow A follow up with comparing at the same proof would at least make for some great content. Thanks guys, really enjoy watching a loving couple share a passion for good whiskey!
Really wanted to come meet y’all in Buford tmw but my wife’s car is in the shop and she needs mine for work tmw :/ Hope y’all have a great time! Are y’all just visiting the area or do you plan to come back at all? Definitely recommend checking out ASW in the Atlanta area if you’ve got time.
No RR13 in this. Shame shame lol
Love the Michters.
Bardstown Discovery 4 could hang with these.
That is an interesting proposition... have to check that out
Dude, you really need to label the blinds for the audience in the editing. We need to know which ones you are referencing notes to.

You do not have a Weller 107? That's shocking not a bad thing but shocking
I have a Weller 107 on the shelf currently. I don't not have a Weller Full Proof on the shelf yet though, but will soon
Wooo
So basically michters barrel proof is your favorite bourbon

Nice job!!! Enjoyed the tasting notes. Just goes to show blinding these bottles reveals a lot.

Surprised by the KOK, not Michters! lol
I was shocked. I still have some KoK left and will try some side by sides again to see how it goes
Wow, David likes Michter's. Who knew?😁😂
😂😂
I like to rock everyone's world with surprises like that 😂
David, what are your thoughts on Calumet 15 year? Is it a buy at $109.00
I would. It's got some really nice dark cherry notes for something that old. And,, Especially since they're hard to find now I'd grab it. The new 16yr just came out and it's $40-$50 more... if you can find it.
I would at 109. I've only had the 14 year, but everyone I've heard said the 15 was better.
@@theonerow Thank you. New at this and there’s just so MUCH to try and buy. 😂😂

Thank you very much! Yes, it's always eye opening getting to baseline the hype😂
This was definitely a heavyweight battle. Awesome.

Great content, David!
Thanks Reggie!
You're making me want Bourbon at 10:30 in the morning. 😞
There are days where I want it then too... especially on work days!

Maybe, but we are pretty use to proof and it was only 10 less than the 4G, same as the WFP, and 15 less than GTS and KoK

Excellent review guy's, Michters always rocks for me :-)
@beyondtherow1 - you should have added a Weller12 to the blind and @whiskeyrow would have a chosen it #1.

We are here for the weekend. My daughter lives in Swanee so we travel here every few months. Thank you for watching☺️
We will try again next time!
@@Beyondwhiskeyrow gotchya! If y’all haven’t been through Suwannee Topshelf Beverage liqour store highly recommend it for bourbon hunting
@@theonerow hellz yea!!
Close but still not 1st comment lol, great video!
Love to hear Jamie pulling out the profiles. I still can't believe how she's gone from no way...to all the way..nice you two. 🤙🏽
Yeah, same... it's become a lot of fun sharing the hobby together
Would like to have seen Rare Breed in that mix.
