I always have a bottle of larceny and EC BP, for the price I think it’s great, it is certainly not as consistently great as it used to be. I still think it’s worth the price even for the lesser bottles. From what I’ve had on this list, I agree with everything else. Good video
Larceny and Elijah Craig barrel proof offerings are definitely great values for the price. I have so many bottles of them that I stopped buying them about a year and a half ago. The EC C923 was my last purchase of either of these. I see them all the time and I pass them up now.
I'd you haven't already done this recently, you should do an "always buy these" affordable version. I like the list here, but they're almost all pretty pricey (except the Makers).
Nice video! I haven't had a Yellowstone that I liked. I have Pact 9 and no reason to get another, underwhelming. Booker's, meh. Never had the desire to try Old Elk Infinity. I've passed on that Wild Turkey every time because of the price. I bought a ton of Larceny but passed in 2024 and passed on ECBP in 2024. Little Book Single Malt turned me off. I would like to try the 117 series!! Agree on MWND!!!! The 24 Four Roses LE is a regret buy for me!
Springfield and the infinity little book were on alot of top pour lists this year. I have not been impressed in awhile i liked both quite a bit but i like jim beam black 7 year and knob 9 so theres that. Larcency b.p. c922, b523, c923 super good.
David, the last 3 are impossible to get in VA. The heart and 4RLE dropped once and that was it. Got lucky and found triumph the other day. Agree on ECBP, but LBP from '23 on has been amazing for me.
I enjoy bookers but wished it was around 60 but dont mind paying 100 tbh, the masters keep is ridiculous for the price and WAY overvalued for sure. Discovery series is a buy buy buy for sure!!! Disco 8 was fantastic too tho revisit that one! ahh nm I see she liked it lol. Makers is a buy for sure. Shocked Stagg jr batches wasnt here as that is a great bottle even at 150 bux...
Great video and awesome idea for one. Your 5 always buy is kind of out of the price range I usually spend. I recently opened up a ECBP B523 and I think it is a great bourbon. It is easy to sip for such a high proof and has great flavor IMO. I am little disappointed to find that Booker's was on your do not buy list. I have not tried it but did pick up a bottle and I am afraid now that I wasted money on it.
Come on. Most Bourbon that are released are nothing special! As soon as he said " limited edition" or "small batch " " reserve" etc it's all marketing bullshit. The sheep are all told they are hard to get and they fall for it
2025 for me is gonna be a different year i am mainly going to reward brands that consistently offer excellent whiskeys at various price tiers that are a match for what i like and that i can find and are reasonably affordable. I am going to buy bottles and brands that have earned my loyalty and are not creating fake fomo at stupid prices and artificially limiting the quantity to create false fomo and secondary markets
I see where Wild Turkey is coming from either they make the money or the Distributor/Store makes the $$. Look at BT all their stuff is reasonable priced but find them for SRP, lol you have to know someone or get lucky.
Yeah, a lot of distilleries are raising their prices like WT. Even BT increased their BTAC SRP's by 50% in the last 2 years. Still way cheaper than secondary, but just an example of everyone doing it. I'd rather the distillery get the money than secondary sellers, but it has to be worth that inflated price or they sit on the shelf and won't have buyers. People actively pass on WT MK bottles at $250 and I don't know anyone that would pass on BTAC at $250
@ I agree WT MK is a miss for WT. but who would pass on a R15 for $250-$300 there’s a lot of examples or rarities we can pick apart. But other than regular BT and WSR there isn’t much u can find at retail from BT. Hopefully BT keeps their current model for marketing because most of their whiskey is just ok. lol I know that’s not a popular opinion but mine.
The only thing I'll buy from Yellowstone is the hand/store picks and only when they're selling them between $50-$55. Completely agree with your list 100% across the board. I was in a VA ABC during a midwinter night's dram drop and it was hilarious for me to watch grown men running into the store to grab a bottle simply because it was allocated. I wasn't about to spend $150 on a bottle of what I consider to be $50 juice.
Hit miss for Bookers would seem much more appropriate. Larceny has been mostly top shelf for the last few years. Consistently higher on EOY list than Elijah Craig BP. Agree with remainder of bottom tier and would add Midwinter Dram. Keep up the excellent content
I could see how for some the Bookers would be hit or miss if you like that profile. I've bought maybe 7-8 bottles and have only kind of enjoyed 1 or 2 on top of the premium price $90-$120 for a 6-7 year whiskey. Even if someone tells me a Bookers 20XX-0X is FANTASTIC, for my palate it will likely be at best mediocre. That is the thing about bourbon though, we all have our flavor and experience preferences so I can't say you are wrong, just that our palates don't align super close. Glad you like them though!
For the most part, I agree with your video. I’m a Jim Beam fan so I really enjoy all the Booker’s. I would’ve added the Woodford annual releases on the miss category.
Great video …I’m in alignment with you on not worth it…would even add NULU….Love #OCD 5 premium and regular….becoming a fan of the GLenns Creek Cuervito Vivo, which will have a new label soon
@ I have that bottle as well. I do think it’s good, but Larceny BP is just better. However, I haven’t had any batches before 23, so I do understand that some of the batches previous to 23 wasn’t as good. My opinion is based on the last 2 years.
Appreciate the feedback, our palates just don't align as of the 4 L BP's I've had in 23 and 24, none are better than the heard release. We just have different opinions on what we like. I'm glad you enjoy the L BP's, they are usually really available and inexpensive!
Love the Bookers, was going to get the Yellowstone but the price is too expensive, I get the EC private barrels anymore cause of the higher proof, i get the larceny when I run out no matter what the batch, MWND is not worth it anymore to me (to pricey) . I had a chance to get the 4 roses LE but at $249 😖 Cheers 👍 🥃
@@theonerow If it was priced around $80 then fine. But my local big box store Elijah Craig toasted bourbon private barrel pick of 8 years old and 128 proof is superior to MTB. And it was $30 cheaper than the 120 msrp price I paid for MTB.
Why do you even keep watching our channel? It’s very rare that I remember someone that always comments negatively and it’s you. Hope your life gets better, that you don’t waste your energy following a channel you clearly don’t like for the last year. There are plenty of great whiskey channels out there, if we are not what you’re looking for move on. I’ve been into whiskey for 4 years now, I really enjoy it. What kind of expert are you who can say I don’t know anything😂. If you have a valid opinion that we can relate to the video content, let’s discuss it I’m all ears.
Why keep defending a brand that’s not worth the $100-$120 stores are selling it at. I bought one of last years releases after not buying for awhile and it reminded me why I haven’t bought them. It’s overpriced for what it is
First off the title of the video is Annual releases. Most you put in here aren’t annual releases they are 3 releases a year. If you can put ECBP and Lacey and in hit or miss and not put Stagg in there just means you are falling short. I do remember a few years ago you was hard on BT and got a bunch of backlash since you just won’t say nothing negative about BT. The Discovery 12 is a miss and 140 a bottle makes it a miss.
Some annual releases are part of a series. We included these because “in our opinion” they fit the category based on our taste, budget, and availability. Yours may differ and I appreciate your opinion. I’m a huge fan of Discovery series. This is the only bottle I will spend $140 each year. It’s no miss for me.
Appreciate the comment, but 3 out of 15 isn't "most". Those 3 are an annual series delineated by year. If I put Stagg in a video I'm a tater and if I leave it out then I'm "falling short". Whatever man 🤷♂️
I always have a bottle of larceny and EC BP, for the price I think it’s great, it is certainly not as consistently great as it used to be. I still think it’s worth the price even for the lesser bottles.
From what I’ve had on this list, I agree with everything else. Good video
Spot on with Blood Oath. Not worth the cost
Hope you guys are feeling better!
Thank you! Maybe a little, but not really it's been a rough couple days
Thank you for the informative video. Cheers

Only Old Elk I’ve had is the Double Wheat and I loved it.
I've had a few Old Elk that were okay, but overall not a huge fan. I'm glad you enjoyed it though!

Good thoughts! I haven't had a pour of the 24 4R LE... sad to hear that!
Dayum Jamie looks outstanding
Appreciate the comment😊
I managed to get the Michter’s 10 year bourbon and rye last year. $150 for the bourbon and $200 for the rye. Both are very good.
Nice grabs, glad you liked them as well!
Springfield and the infinity little book were on alot of top pour lists this year. I have not been impressed in awhile i liked both quite a bit but i like jim beam black 7 year and knob 9 so theres that. Larcency b.p. c922, b523, c923 super good.

Yeah, we live in a bourbon wasteland for certain releases and brands. I've had much better luck in other states.
Thanks for your honest opinions. We only have so much $ and can't afford to spend it on poor value bourbon.,
Appreciate that, thank you!
Great vid 👍 if a bottle isn’t even good enough to buy for content, that’s a really damning comment
LOL, true
Whats the difference in ocd5 vs ocd5 premium? Sorry if yall went over that before.
Premium is a double barreled and concentrated OCD 5, great question!
Blood Oath 10 is great!
Good lord she’s gorgeous ❤
Thank you for the kind words 😂
Just curious on how you feel about ECSBBP store picks?
I do love Larceny and personally haven't seen disappointed with recent releases.
They are hit or miss to me. Good value if it's a good pick
@@theonerow I was lucky and got a really good one locally. I'm going to see if they have any more.
I enjoyed this video. Concise. Mainly because it didn't contain the long, ridiculous nosing note details.
Glad you enjoyed it! Interesting feedback on the "ridiculous" nosing notes though... Cheers anyway!

Not a fan of the Old Elk bourbons.

That Yellowstone is easy to drink. It just isn’t worth the price.
Fair point!
Little book 2023 was in retrospect
Little book 2024 was path not taken
Good catch! Thank you for the correction!
Bookers hate is silly! 2024 was an excellent year for the series... Verbalizing it as bottom tier without reviews is not the best look.

More and more are becoming Hard Passes. Correct your prices & increases the quality or else
True
Just realized the name of the channel is no longer Whiskey Row. 😂..
Yes, in process of widening the variety of content I put out
I only have one bookers, but i enjoy it. I have 2 of the larceny bp and love them.
Maker’s Mark can’t compete with Larceny Barrel Proof. There hasn’t been a bad batch of LarcenyBP in 23 or 24. 👎🏼👎🏼
I loved the Markers Mark Heart Release this year. One of my favorite bottles of 2024

someone highjack this channel? the description doesn't match, lol...
Good question! No, I'm still running things, but am adding other content besides whiskey. So instead of WhiskeyRow it is now just TheRow
Mitchers toasted at 90 proof is garbage for the price.

I don't think you understand the word Annual. Larceny, Elijah Craig, and Booker's come out multiple times a year.
Yes, for larceny, bookers, and Elijah Craig, they release 3 to 4 Whiskey as part of their annual release line…
