The blanket +1 def that the Grandma gives (Ramonda) is incredibly powerful. Combine that with a big portion of the characters having generally low stats and choice high cost figures having a very high defense and you get a team that is very hard to hit. The big downside I see is, the way it is structured, for a good portion of the figures you are required to play specifically Wakanda themed. For this set, it's fine, the synergy is built-in. But it does mean it doesn't mix that well with other sets.
I agree, you'll need Wakanda keywords. We just discovered about some OP Kit figures that can help with that, MV23-009 Shuri who grants Wakanda keyword to Scientist, and MV23-007 Captain America who grants Wakanda to Soldier. That'll be a good place to start for team building.
It might be a stretch because it’s a bit old now but is it possible for you guys to do the FF cosmic Clash starter set. Recently went back and got all the pieces from mine and am having a blast, forgot how fun the figs are. Regardless thanks for the vids and entertainment and I’ll be supporting that patron soon enough!
