Arma Reforger How To Recruit NPC AI To Your Squad, Give Orders & Get Them To Follow & Fight With You

The feature to recruit friendly (same faction) AI squad members to your group has now gone live on the Experimental Branch of Arma Reforger for PC & Xbox, so in this video I show you how to add AI to your squad, give them orders, load them into a vehicle or helicopter, get them to follow and fight with.
The key to recruiting AI is the new squad command wheel. To bring it up on PC it should be the tilda ~ key, but I had to rebind it to #.
On Xbox Gamepad, you press the top left shoulder button LB and the small button with the two squares ( the View Button), then on PC use your mouse & left-click to select "recruit", on gamepad it's right stick and right trigger.
Just remember that you can only recruit if you're the squad leader & the AI Soldier must be of the same faction you are.

I mostly play Single player in Game Master (offline), so this feature is super important to me. I'm wondering why it's still in Experimental. I've been wanting to do realistic recon missions, and being able to directly control the AI with the command wheel during missions would be a game-changer.

It’s a bit clunky at the moment. I think over time though they will make it a bit more fluid but it’s a good start

Anyone who has commanded AI in Arma 3 will know it’s one of the most frustrating things ever. I really hope they make it much better in Reforger / A4. TBH, not really sure that commanding AI in Conflict would be a good thing…I guess we’ll see…

Brilliant looking at its progression status im guessing we're not far off Arma 4, but im thinking Arma 4 may just be a re branding of Reforger.

They'll be on same engine, but I'd expect to see tanks, boats, a single player campaign, showcases, mission editor, and more maps.

You need to be the leader of your group, and this doesn't work on all all game modes, and is just in experimental version of Reforger at the moment.
