A stunning 2004 Porsche Carrera GT with 1,200 Original Miles. This Carrera GT (#1043) is a one owner car that came to us from the northeast in GT Silver with a black leather interior, and only 1,200 miles on the odometer. Collector quality complete with books, keys, cover and service stamps.
The Porsche Carrera GT is a mid-engined sports car that was manufactured between 2004 - 2007 in Leipzig, Germany. With only 1,270 units produced (with 644 delivered to the U.S.), the Carrera GT ticks all the boxes for collectible supercars and have been very strong performers in the market since their introduction. The Carrera GT is designed by Porsche Style Department head Harm Lagaay who designed other Porsche of the time including the 924, 968, 993, 996, Boxster and Cayenne.
The Carrera GT is a long car with full aerodynamic treatment around a full carbon fiber monocoque, the subframe produced by Italian company ATR Composites Group. All Carrera GTs feature a traditional six-speed manual transmission with a polished beachwood shift knob, an homage to the Porsche 917. Porsche limited the available colours of the Carrera GT to Basalt Black, GT Silver, Seal Grey, Fayence Yellow and Guards Red.
Originally 1500 cars were planned to be produced by Porsche, however, Porsche announced in 2005 that it won’t continue production through to 2006 due to changing airbag regulations in the United States. Porsche sold 1270 Carrera GT in total, with 644 units sold in the United States, 31 units in Canada and 49 units were sold in The United Kingdom.
Sports Car International named the Porsche Carrera GT number one in its list of “Top Sports Cars of the 2000s: and number eight on “Top Sports Cars of All Times” list.
