Dear Mr Ivor Sore Finger, I want to share something with you an your fans and subscribers. This is a story of Love. Through lockdown, I picked up my Guitar in the corner of the room and found your channel. I was bored after watching too much T.V. So I thought, why not learn the guitar all over again, I needed someone to show me with simplicity and someone that could take their time and teach me. I found you… I’ve been plucking and a plinking, strumming and a humming and I’m getting not too bad. I’m 61, I’ve been on my own for a few years, so my son decided to put me on a dating site (Brave lad, I coulda killed him! Lol) I had just one like and a lady from Reading started talking to me, we met this Sunday and I thought I have no chance! She had an air of grace and we sat and chatted and giggled and the night went so quick. We had a hug and we started texting again. I WhatsApp’d her a song that you taught me, it was a favourite of mine by Rod Stewart, “I don’t wanna talk about it” using your techniques, I sang this to her on video, I have a reasonable voice too. It came out alright to be fair. Tonight I got a text saying I’m the most Gorgeous man in the world, after all the sadness of losing friends to Covid and staying in, I have found something that I never thought was possible at my age.. A beautiful woman to serenade too. I cannot thank you enough, really I can’t, I thought I was going to end up alone and single for the rest of my life, but now I have a future and a spirit that says to anyone reading this, who is in a position thus similar to mine, a woman likes to be serenaded, it brings the romance back that seemed long forgotten during the pandemic… Hey! A lovely BIG thank you to you and to my son who went into hiding and reappeared to a BIG hug from his Dad. I hope you enjoyed this true story… I won’t ask you to play “ My heart goes Boom Biddy Boom Boom” with Peter Sellars 😂😂 Goodness Gracious Me! This one is so nice. At one point I got the hang of it freestyle finger picking, following you with the chords; it was like if I was jamming with you. Got a bit stuck with complicated finger patterns and chords. Since I followed a few of your lessons, it feels I pick things up easier and quickly.
