THANK YOU...you just made my day. I am 67. I started college at 60 having NEVER gone to high school. I have never had an algebra class. The entrance exam for math made this clear but the college just eliminated the MATH 95 class where I could have started at the beginning of learning algebra. Instead, I am in 120. Actually, it is two classes combined into one, MATH 120 E and MATH 20 It was supposed to be a new to algebra class but it has been tormenting me. I learned more in ten minutes here than I have in the 4-5 classes I have attended for almost 2 1/2 hours each. This is not the professor's fault, she's amazing and is very concerned for me, but even with a tutor, I have been lost because the class talks about variables, placeholders, squared, terms, like-terms and so much more as if I know what that is so nothing made any sense. I cannot thank you enough. I felt so stupid and was afraid I would have to drop the class. I was considering walking away from my degree, 3-classes from completion. I started college to earn my creative writing degree, I was already a published author but had never had a writing class either. In all my other classes that required reading, comprehension, and writing I am an A & B student. But sadly the school requires me to also take college algebra and a language. I am taking MATH and SPANISH this semester and will only have one more class to take in the summer and graduate in the fall if I get through this semester. It has taken me 7-years to get a 2-year degree. I was only taking one class or two a semester because the degree is for me only. I have desperately needed it all my life to rectify the low opinion I had of myself because of my lack of education. Well, to be honest, it only took 5 years to get a 2-year degree. I lost 2-years during covid with cancer, surgery, chemo, loads of fun during the lockdown. NOW I AM BACK and anxious to reclaim my life but it no longer felt possible. I used this example to try and explain my hopelessness recently. I feel like I just started a new class on art, painting, and the professor insisted I paint a masterpiece the likes of Michael Angelo, the first day. But, he had never even taught me which brush to use. I felt sabotaged. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge in a way that a beginner can comprehend. It's true, we never know when the teacher will come. I AM GOING TO PASS THIS CLASS AND GRADUATE (the only member of my family to ever do so) with dignity. Toni K Pacini
Thank you for the video. Simple and straightforward is what I like. Like and I definitely subscribed. I’m brushing on math for tests to get into LPN program. Bless you 🙏🏻
Nice intro to variables, I am a bit surprised to see pi, e, and infinity come into the picture though. They seem a bit more advanced beyond an intro. Still like it, since none of these throw me off 😊
