I've seen the original (I'm assuming they were their own company at one time) Gibbs units in '60s Gibson and '70s Traynor amps...the former sounded awful (one spring in a cardboard box), while the latter wasn't bad (very corroded, hard to gauge what it's pristine form might have sounded like)...
Can I also take out one spring out of a three spring reverb tank to get a two spring one? Or doesn’t it work that way? Or maybe dampen one of the springs?
