The biggest challenge is not bears, bathroom or getting lost etc but people trying to scare me off my trips with comments like "you're going to be raped or killed" I enjoy life because it's short. Bears can smell up to a 20 mile radius.
I do well alone too! I have a very serious boyfriend but after my divorce, and prior to him, I lived alone and did pretty much everything by myself. I still enjoy doing things solo.

I totally agree on not using a gun on a bear! I live in northern Wisconsin and was charged 60 yards by a black bear. To stop the charge I had to run towards the bear screaming and waving my arms. 99% of bears want nothing to do with you. There was no time to pull my gun and the caliber was not big enough to make a difference. The bear veered off into the woods and followed me back 1/2 mile to my jeep, but I was able to stop the charge. Again, like you mentioned, it was at dusk and they have bad sight and it was during hunting season. I think that bear had a long day and was done with humans lol. I've been in the woods for 50 years. First time I had a problem with any animal.
You just described my worse nightmare. I just went tent camping for the first time and thought I was pretty badass for scaring off a racoon😅 but damn...I don't know If I could scare a whole bear
@@eddiern In the moment I wasn't scared, but I had 3 dogs with me and I was focused on protecting them, but after it was all over, I was shook up. But...it's good to know that confronting the bear worked and it's given me a little bit of confidence and knowledge. :)

I think too often as women we are lead to believe that we need someone else to feel empowered to be adventurous but you are proof that is not the case. I can also imagine that having Luna with you certainly enhances your experiences 😊
Life is to short to be afraid I believe in destiny therefore I am not afraid of what I can’t control . I just live and let god decide when it is my time to go.
It is good that you don't watch crime videos. Don't watch national park missing persons videos either ;). Perhaps that is why I worry for you 🙂. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders though.

There are quite a few apps out there to find free or paid camping. I am going on a month long road trip here in about 6 weeks and I am using these apps. The information is out there, just gotta know where to find it.
I have 4 apps on my phone, but they just are as helpful in certain areas. Yes, there is info, but there are a lot of great free spots that aren’t online 🤷♀️

A dog is you best option for safety in my opinion . I travel with mine and he alerts me to everything ! Keep safe and keep the videos coming 😀
Totally agree and being alone is not the same thing as being lonely.
Nor does it mean we don't really like people. We're just comfortable being alone.

To add extra income while you are traveling you should vacation rental your home while your out traveling
