    The fact that the director was crying DURING filming the swamp scene with Artax just shows how much heart was invested into this movie and why it’s so deserving of being a cult classic.

      @@fryprosodyNoah broke his back before shooting when the training horse he was riding fell on top of him. In order to play the part of the buffalo hunting warrior convincingly he had to be proficient in horse riding. He had many months in hospital recovering before they even began the shoot. He still has issues with that injury to this day.

    • @sonofhibbs4425
      @sonofhibbs4425 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I abhor CGI. I don’t mind if it was something small, very small to edit out...then CGI is okay. But to use CGI a lot in a film is lazy.
      Yes, yes...I know CGI workers work hard at the computer, but it’s not as much as an artist who does what they do PLUS everything the computer does.
      This here, what was shown in this clip, is real cinematography. Real WORK and time and energy (love) was put into making it. It shows because it glows.
      The shit of today is cranked out fast and formulaic. They exchanged SOUL for “perfection”, believing how something looks will make up for lack of dedication. It shows, and it blows.

    'During a shoot with a horse, Hathaway's companion got spooked, and after being unable to remain calm, the horse tried jumping a fence. The problem was that the horse wound up missing its intended target.
    "It didn’t jump the fence and fell on top of me," said the actor.
    Due to the incident, Hathaway cracked a few vertebrae and subsequently spent a couple of months in the hospital. '

      Large aquarium half filled with fresh water and salt water. The injected paint/ink created a layer of "clouds" on the border of two centers. Old patent. The same method was used on a large scale in Spielberg's 1977 film "Close Encounters of the Third Kind".
