Hi Nadia, If the ulnar nerve innervated muscles are not functioning due to nerve trauma, or the ulnar nerve has been repaired and is progressing with healing, but the fingers are still positioning in the claw position, then the anti-claw orthosis is appropriate. The patient should be evaluated for a claw deformity. If present, the timing of surgical repair or trauma does not matter because this is a functional orthosis and can help the patient. You can evaluate the patient to see if it helps. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Hi Nadia! You can buy our materials from your local Orfit distributor. In Egypt that is Ocean Trading: www.orfit.com/contact/#!/physical-rehabilitation/Egypt/
+Lynda Anthony Dear Lynda, Orfit Industries has created a thermoplastic product that is extremely well suited to this type of orthosis and we highly recommend using Orfit Strips as indicated in the video. These strips are pre-cut with smooth edges - something that is not as easily done by hand. Orfit Strips, in bright and pleasing colors, are highly accepted by clinicians and patients! We cannot comment on the use of alternative materials.

Dear, the coating allows for temporary bonding during fabrication and for direct moulding onto bandages and coton lining. It also makes the orthosis more resistant to fingerprints and dirt. The inner material is a low temperature thermoplastic.
