You know I have watched the Big Boys return to the rails and was a fan of her when she sat in Pomona. She is a massive engine that fascinated me with steam locomotives in my youth and I have yet to see her in person, as it is on my bucket list when she is close by. Thank you for your efforts!

This trip alone is 4000 miles, and they did 3 tours in 2019 of varying mileage. If I had to estimate off the top of my head, I'd say the 4014 will have logged about 14k to 15k miles since restoration at the end of this tour.
@@FanRailer Yeah, I was guessing around 10 to 12k not knowing the length of this tour. I've been keeping tabs on the iron brute since it left Cheyenne in May of 2019 on it's first run to Nunn CO. The Big Boy is a Beast !!
Steam exhaust injector still dumping water? Can this be repaired by the crew during nightly stops? Those ties are creaking along the siding. Glad to hear 4014 working more...chuff chuff.
Yes they're still having issues with it. At this point, it might not be a repair they can fully complete on the road. The injector might need another rebuild when they get back to Cheyenne in a few weeks.
It’s a continual boiler blowdown which helps get rid of undesirable solids in the boiler caused by mineral buildup from solids in the feed water. It was designed to Operate in this manner!

Hay did they change the type of Oil that Big Boy Runs on I don't see that dark Black smoke anymore must be clean burning Oil.
I've been told its a blend of used motor oil.
