Thank you. I appreciate it. The biggest knocks I’ve heard so far is the lack of damage/wear and the lighter straps. I think I got it pretty good for a “clean” version.
The more washes the better. It gives a good mottled look. I also like to use slightly darker washed in areas I want to appear more shadowy, IE, eyes, near the nose, near straps etc
Just remember, there was never a clean mask In part 6, it was dirty from the moment Jarvis pulled it out his truck..beautiful work I might add, you did a great job..
Thanks. And yep- I decided against adding any dirt because I found light and shadow worked well enough. The textured paint job gives the mask a very subtle weathered effect. If you wanted a less subtle effect, a very watery wash with black acrylic (after sealing your base colours) would likely do the trick. Most weathering jobs I see are too heavy handed for my liking but there are lots of ways to paint Jason masks and I think people should watch videos from other people as well to find what works best for them.
Can I use burnt sienna as a substitute for raw sienna and if you say yes but i have to use different acrylics i dont know if i can because i think i already have enough acrylics and im on a budget and i dont have much time left to buy more stuff for my mask. And also plz respond because i need just an important tip because I'm going to make my mask on this Saturday and i already put the krylon satin almond the mask. And it is a great part 6 jason mask!👍
Hey, thanks. Sorry I didn’t reply in time. I hope your masked turned out well- there’s no real perfect way to paint one so improvising shouldn’t be a problem. 👍
@bewareofbears2 It turned out really great and I used red vinyl to make my chevron and I used my x acto knife to make damage. I used burnt sienna instead of raw sienna.
I haven’t watched it in a little while but I’m pretty confident they’re using a mesh over the eyes in the opening scene with Dan Bradley as Jason. I’m unsure about CJ Graham through the rest of the film offhand.
@@bewareofbears2 No, the eye holes may be somewhat smaller than on masks from earlier movies, and the deformation of the mask due to it being a product of recasting and multiple instances of vacuum forming may help keep light out, but you can see inside of them. /watch?v=r1N-Xby5AnA&t=47s
Thats what i love. How they come to life right before your eyes as you spray the clear coat on them. Freaking amazing really
100%
I've watched this about 10 times part 6 is the one mask I want in my collection to be perfect and you are the best I've seen for part 6

You're a fast learner then cuz that is some GREAT work!
Thank you.
@@jerichomills5162 sure is I think he knocked this out the park
It has the stonewashed sort of appearance of the screen used masks rather than a solid color. Good job!
Wow very nice
Thanks. 🙂
Awesome video thanks
Nice work. Came out looking good!
Thanks!

@bewareofbears2 I did take a few notes from your video, very good techniques I might add!
yes I love see part 9
Yes, This IS Amazing.
Thank you.
Awesome looks just like the movie
Thanks, it’s not perfect but I was satisfied with it. 🙂
I couldn't find almond satin only gloss. So i got fossil satin and it looks pretty good.
Awesome.
@@bewareofbears2can you make a part4 or part8 pls . Btw love your work.
Thanks. I’d like to do both of those one day but not sure when it will happen.
good job!
Thanks. 👍

@@bewareofbears2 And btw for your part 3 jason mask. Satin Meruigne would've been better to use for your base coat just saying.
I think you’re missing the purpose of the almond base coat on my Part 3 but no worries- there are lots of ways to paint a mask. 👍
...but...the eyes aren't actually blacked out in Jason Lives. They just put dark makeup around CJ's eyes.

@@bewareofbears2 Dan Bradley's only in the paintball scene.
That’s what I’m referencing.

Not bad. I would have weathered the straps or replaced with opd leather straps.
The straps are made from a ladies belt from a thrift store. I did tests for weathering them with good results but decided to hold off. Maybe one day.
Good
Do the part 9 battle damage
I’m hoping to paint a Part 9 someday. 👍
I think the next mask should be a 2009 mask.
Where did you get the hockey mask?
JDF Studios- now called Fear City Creations.
The next mask should be the 2009 mask
One day, hopefully.
