Newer data is showing that trace fats such as C15:0, a sturdier odd-chain saturated fat actually helps the cells become stronger and more resilient to numerous issues but certainly those related to ferroptosis and iron leaking into the cells and creating ROS. PUFA's have two double bonds, hence the oil state versus solid, but this makes it more susceptible to lipid peroxidation. Obviously, DHA is essential for life, and we need a balance of many different fats and other essential nutrients.
