FILM DESCRIPTION:
In Steven Spielberg's massive blockbuster, paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) are among a select group chosen to tour an island theme park populated by dinosaurs created from prehistoric DNA. While the park's mastermind, billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), assures everyone that the facility is safe, they find out otherwise when various ferocious predators break free and go on the hunt.

One of the most iconic scenes I’ve ever seen. The perspective in this scene is great. The fact that it puts you through the perspective of the humans who think the dinosaur is trying to eat them is great. But in reality rexy is just playing with the car and being curious. The fact that the characters are completely in the middle of nowhere and unprepared also adds to the suspense. I also just think the effects are way better than the jw movies.

This scene is so obscene how good it is when seen on the big screen. The fact I missed it makes me pissed, I wished I bought tickets to see this, but I was remiss.
@@philc5499 They re-release it pretty regularly. In fact, it's playing today for the 30th anniversary.
Nothing in the Jurassic World films holds a candle to this scene
The newer ones, look like some incredible PC graphics, like top of the line. The 1993 one it's like a real animal is on set.
The Guns made one Appetite for Destruction, Dali painted one Persistence of Memory, and that's just the way these things work.

those T Rex roars are so iconic, the way they mixed together different animal calls make make the T rex sounds and even the raptors is truly remarkable, so ahead of its time

In my personal opinion this scene is absolutely perfect. I think something a lot of movie studios have forgotten is how important practical effects are. That’s why the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park hold up so well. Any time they CAN be practical they ARE, and the tact really sells the CG dinos. Couple that with the fact that this scene happens at night in the rain and there is never a moment I don’t think Rexy isn’t real.

vividly remember this scene. Best dino movie!!
As do I. Me and my family saw this film at the drive-in theater in Middleport, NY (the fate of which is unknown as of me making this comment) during the summer of 1993, and seeing the scene with the first encounter with the T-Rex was mildly frightening. However, as I was in my mid to late teenage years, this particular scene became less frightening and was more thrilling to watch. Also, some days after we saw the film, we met up with my 2nd grader's two kids (one of which is a year older than me) asked "Oh, did you like the part where the T-rex ate the guy off the toilet?" (she was referring to Gennaro), and I said yes. I always find that scene amusing, despite scary.

This movie will be 30 years old June 11 of next year. Truly crazy how everything about this movie is amazing. One of the all time greats!

I remember watching this scene for the first time. I was 14 and chilled to the bone whole night.
It's curiosity....??? Then it lets out that f+ckin' "ROAR!!!!!!!" In 1993, in the theaters, I did the same thing as those kids!!!!! Closed my ears, and covered up!!! HORRIFYING!!!!! Great FILM!!!!!
Could you believe it took 63mil to make and got 1bil at the box office...2nd to take under 100mil to make was Star Wars & made 1bil at box office

No offence but I prefer the jw movies to the Jp ones. The Jp ones are boring to me while the jw ones gives us good soundtracks, characters, more species of dinosaurs and excitement

Alan Grant is taking his time to get Lex and Tim out of the car because they are all muddy because the T-rex was standing on top of the car.

When i first saw this scene, my Mom wanted to turn it off due to it's horrorish tone. I was like 6 at that time.
I was initially scared when I had seen this film during the summer of 1993 at a drive-in theater over in Middleport, NY (some miles down where I currently live over in Medina, NY...the fate of it is unknown), and I was mildly frightened. However, nowadays whenever this movie was on network TV or if I was watching it on DVD, I would be watching this scene with awe. I was also amused, too. Such a good movie.
Imagine taking a dump and suddenly, a T-Rex come out of nowhere and eats you.
That would be anyone's WORST nightmare...

Isnt it amazing how a movie from 1993 looks as though it was made for a top end PC with Nvidia RTX 4080 but todays movies look like they were made for Playstation 2!
