Thanks Surya for inviting Dr. Karandikar to give details on this great news. In our usual glare of political news, this important news missed most of us. Very thoughtful of you to cover this news. It is a great feeling as an ordinary Indian to know this important achievement in telecom sector. Of course, finally we will all say -" Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai"!!!! But salute to all the scientists involved in this strategic initiative.

Congratulations India !!! Believe in ourself , have self confidence. That’s what we need as Indian. People of Indian origins are in lead roles all over the world in different fields.
If we can do out of our country, we can do this at home, provided right environment.

Great news! Thank you for sharing this. It would have been nice to know what role the govt played in assisting tsdai if any and whether the govt had a diplomatic role in the inclusion of the specification in release 17.

It's really heartening to find this piece of news. All these are becoming reality when we choose good people to lead our institutions and government.

India always had the talent to do many wonders, but it was only the useless Khangress Pappu Gandhi's era where many talents migrated to west to contribute to their society. Now times have changed and a rise in patriotic and nationalist feeling will be good for 🇮🇳 in future. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Super! Thank you for explaining in a very simple language. As Dr. Karandikar mentioned we can't just be a huge market importing (or even just manufacturing) stuff. IPR's in global standards is a must and we are on right track.

As always. Breaking news again. A bit technical since coming from a scientist. This is just the start. Time will prove that Indian research is best in the world.
This is how west became owners of IPR. It's India's turn now. Government has to invest and take such initiatives to grassroot colleges level. There is so much of talent going waste at that level. 🙏🙏

@13:00..The interviewer has no idea about the technology that Dr. Abhay Karandikar is talking about..asking stupid questions like setting up 5G networks in Africa..we just contributed to the 5G network specification which has become mandatory..we are not a telecom equipment company to set up 5g networks..these old people don't understand tech

Please be little considerate dude. One got the fair idea about contribution made by IITs towards specifications after Professor Karandikar’s reply.

He is not expected to, as a journalist. He is however expected to be aware of important events and bring the right people to the conversation, which he did.
