We never got Reading Rainbow in the UK but my parents insisted that I read a book a week. They also both liked Star Trek. LeVar Burton is a special guy.

I started seriously reading as an 8 yr old boy in 1963. My first book, Astronomy. I watched Star Trek in 1966 and marveled, but I did try to figure out if and how we were going to get to a place where we were establishing planetary colonies. From this iteration of Star Trek following the original series, I realized that all the jobs on a starship were science based. I saw from the original Star Trek that they placed the "space command" within the Navy and not the Air Force.

      I would make a suggestion.
      Watch Strange New Worlds.
      1 season 1st Episode.
Then watch the second season Ad Astra Per Aspera it is the 2nd episode.
Then go back and watch the first season. To see how they got to that 2nd season episode.
Ad Astra Per Aspera is one of the single best episodes of what Star Trek and science fiction should be.
      An examination of ourselves.
      Please enjoy.

It's a necklace that people hang their eyewear from. Usually sunglasses. He probably took them off the necklace and set them aside to avoid brand issues and such.

Star Trek may have been "ahead of the curve" in some ways, but as I live and breathe, men will never wear shirts with zippers in the back.

I’m so old I remember levar burton in roots and on reading rainbow and also in a movie about a deaf mute growing up in Chicago that was accused of killing prostitutes ,based on a true story starring levar burton , Paul sorvino and Steven Williams and a young holly Robinson played his little sister. I can’t say the title cause it will be not politically correct in 2023. The movie came out in 1979 I believe.

Jesus Christ called people everywhere to repent, so if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe with all your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved and inherit the kingdom of heaven and eternal life. To this, people would accept Jesus Christ in life in their hearts and told other people how Good he is, how he saves, heals and frees and gives eternal life for freе 832

Christianity is aloud in schools for educational purposes. This is why they have classes such as world religions and religious studies. It’s the warship and prayer part that isn’t aloud because it singles out individuals who aren’t religious. As a student you have the right to pray and read a Bible in school but as a teacher or school official you cannot force your students to read the Bible or pray.
Stop trying to play victim with your religion. If you want to pray , warship, have Bible study or indoctrinate kids you already have a place for that and it’s called church.

Levar has become a really silly leftist, but Gene didn't like to lecture or tell others that you're bad if you don't think like me. The writers and showrunners of Modern Trek don't understand that.

Clearly didn’t do a lot of research on gene and what he was like BTS he was constantly fighting everyone on more diversity. Do you really think the producers had men in skirts in the 80s? New Trek has a ton of problems (though I’m not including SNW LD or s3 of Picard they are all true Trek) diversity isn’t one of them it’s the nihilism that killed disco
