Delroy love watching your vids not so much to learn from Electrically I've been in the game for 40+ years but never too old to learn . What I like is your interaction with people you come across as a genuine nice guy . Keep going mate .
Looked like there was also damage to the sleeving on the other live cable. How someone put that in the wall in the first place is beyond me. Good work Del.
Hi Delroy, have you thought about doing a beginners series starting from scratch or even start another channel for beginners on how to test for faults, how to wire a socket, lights etc, tips and tricks to make the job easier.
I had that problem as well a job in the past flashing on a two way switch cable damaged cable 3 core and earth ended up making a joint under neath floorboards
wow holly sht are those glands in tht box when did you all stop using them in the uk?? i swear i never see them you all just seem to have cable entry thru a hole about the size of a window surrounded by a razor edge lol
Every time I turned on the microwave the light was flickering and the fuse in the plug blew..I thought it was a faulty light bulb. Ordered a new one for £16 changed it but same problem 😮 I decided to open the socket and found a lose cable , screwed it tight and problem solved . How can the wire get lose after years ??
Sorry for spastic question, why did u do Zs for and not the IR test? How total loop impedance can help you to find the fault? Will it be too high or what?
He was checking for earth loop impedance to ensure the path to earth had sufficiently low impedance (resistance) this is necessary for the breakers and RCBO to work effectively. He was checking to ensure that were was not a bigger more serious issue on the earth protection and breakers could operate effectively. The IR would be to check the quality of the wiring he corrected the problem on the wiring with the broken wire and new socket with a slimmer back profile to reduce risk of further damage to the conductors. We are not sure he did not do an IR test or RCD trip yes either he did not show that.

I love those orange Ideal connectors, picked them up at Elex a few years ago and use them all the time now
I have no idea why I'm watching but I like it. Lol
Delroy has a very soothing voice
Great job Del, still the most honest real sparkie on the TH-cam
Glad you are uploading your vids almost every day now. Hello from Russia! Cheers
I still use extension lugs a lot of screws are different colours or need to be flat head

Very nice job done. I wish i was your student. You are angel.
Thanks to the owner for the big clue or it could have been another pricey day work job!

Nice easy repair in the end, would have liked to see how you fitted the connector 👍😀
“Oh my giddy aren’t “ 😂😂😂

Excellent job dell.well done
I've seen those Ideal through connectors fail in EICR.
I stick to butt crimps and Wago connectors.
Never seen an ideal fail myself and butt connectors are not designed for single core cable.
I haven't seen extension screws for a few years, I'm not even sure if they are made anymore with the long 50mm, 75mm 3.5mm screws
Nice work Del! 💪🏾
Is it a big company as in that your working for ?
My electrics in kitchen keeps tripping. Won't stay on at all. Nothing plugged in, checked all wiring seems OK. Just tripped and won't come back on
hahahaha never give stuff away....!!! I think we are all guilty of being too kind and leaving ourselves short :)

Some times - Syrah the problem is right there in front of you.
Trained eye picked it up
Glad your visa are more frequent now.

Im intrested in this to , i would have done an IR test ,maybe del know some tricks

So if My sockets line cable breaks or snaps do I need to replace the whole cable or how does that all work I’m confused
You call a competent electrician and pay someone who knows what they are doing to repair, test and issue you with a minor works cert. 👍🏻
Nice video
#Ar_electrical_knowledge
Ok
I would have just used insulation tape on it.
What on a broken wire
@@neiltrevatt If it was just exposed copper obviously
@@asifdutchmaster8705 but he said it broke off.
I stopped the video when you said about the through crimp.. I would use a three position lever wago on it since it is so short..
