@NarlyHeights yes, it's incredibly difficult. They are doing dozens of different scratch patterns and moves, each taking years to master. Their timing is perfect. If you were to pick up a couple of turntables and a mixer, it would take you atleast 10 years of solid practice to be able to be anywhere close to this.
I think this is part of a crazy abstract cartoon about dentists and stuff. Turntable TV ... crazy is a necessary word in describing the cartoon with honesty.
I feel like I'm in high school again, this shit is 10 PLUS years old...I still remember one of the shittiest days, I lent my copy of this to a friend and that was the last time I saw that d-d-d-damn cd.
SHIITTT!!! The person who posted this video also said that this clip is nearly 10yrs old. Yet their clothes are better than what I'm wearing now!! Mad skillz 2!
Yeah its called ''Hamster style''. You simply invert the fader. Most mixers have an option that allows you to reverse the fader, so bringing your CF to the left cuts the left turntable and vice-versa.
@zikmu2008 like jay said easy to grasp, takes Alot of practice before you get a clue of what you're doing. A turntable is a music instrument in itself cuz all these sounds can be broken down into something close to music notes!!
I could get the same effect scratching my ball point pen onto my note pad in class with the same beat. The stuff with words and that stuff is where it's at.
I disagree, I'll use a metaphor to try to describe what i mean. Turntablist dj's use their tables like instruments. a lot like trumpets, lets say. They practice and practice to make beautiful sounds out of their instruments... but club dj's who just spin and match bpm's are basically taking their trumpets and using is like a drum stick, as they hit it against a wall to keep a beat. Turntablism is the skill... spinning is the excuse.
DJ QBert doesn't have tourette's, he's just acting for the movie and counting the beats as he & DJ D-Styles go back and forth with their scratch routine.
These brother's speak a whole different language through their scratches MyTotal Respect....!
Agreed!!

very nice, all those hours in the bassment paid off
The beat is a sped-up version of "High Plains Drifter" by the Beastie Boys, which in turn was sampled from The Eagles. If anyone gives a crap.

i remember having that Vestax turntable. The straight arm and rectangle size. perfect for skratching.
Yo... its ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS
I love scratching so much because of the shit they pull of. It reminds me of some crazy ass snare licks and snare breaks.
I think this is part of a crazy abstract cartoon about dentists and stuff. Turntable TV ... crazy is a necessary word in describing the cartoon with honesty.

It's like they're talking to each other! I can hear a conversation!
I WISH THERE WAS A 'LOVE' BUTTON i would click it like 2910938202137 times
WTF!!! that scratch at 1:58 is insane
After analyzing it over and over it seems to be a 2 click flare that goes into a reverse autobahn.
Is this the best Q&A in recorded history?
Some of the BEST shit in the UNIVERSE
Viiiiintage. Thumbs.
amazing.....

I think they shot 4 times also to have different
camera angles for the video.
Usually you first take full fields, then close-ups and stuff.

these guys r the trouble with turntablism - no one can touch them!
even new cats cuttin their own vinyl can't match the legends from back then!!!
