I love this man ,He gave me in my teaching profession a real boom and I started receiving many compliments and blessings from students in my very first class of teaching maths across India .Kudos .God bless professor Strang .You are fascinating guy .Real dogma of calculus none can explain better than you do .😍

When a step function of voltage is applied to a resister capacitor in parallel the outcome across the capacitor is a spike (a seen on an oscilloscope) and the circuit is called an integrator or low pass filter. The problem is that a step function although very fast, doesn't happen in no time at all, so there is an area under the graph in my opinion, though tiny

    There are 6 functions!
    1) monomials: x^n
    2) sin(x)
    3) cos(x)
    4) e^(cx)
    5) ln x
    and
    6) The step function.

Certainly, some people prefer listening to teachers lecturing to reading books, but some people don't. Saying that "the only real way learn something" is by having a teacher is just silly.

that would imply theres no need for a teacher, and ur deluded if u think that. Hearing someones expereince about how to do something is the only real way to learn soemthing and appreacite it 100%.

The use of a teacher is to teach the general population what was discovered faster. This lets the students build on those discoveries and make new conclusions etc etc. There is no "need" for a teacher to learn something as in to discover something on your own is possible. It just might take a lot more time. The only way to truly appreciate something is to discover it yourself. When you discover something "new" you understand the roots as well as why it works.
