How I wish that I could get a teacher like him when i was growing up and learning maths... My life would have been totally different and so much more fulfilling. I have reached the 12th video of the calculus series and must say that I am totally in awe of professor Strang. Love you professor.

It's the 12th video, but I just can't hold myself anymore from saying it's been a most satisfying math class ever in my life!
We could survive with a couple hundred Mr. Gilbert Strangs...
    :)

I bough Dr. Strang's Calculus text off of Amazon. I've taken Calculus at a junior college before. Those instructors presented formulas and equations without explaining their nature. The approach of Dr. Strang is to tie ideas & concepts of mechanics (velocity, distance, acceleration) to calculus ... this enables me to really understand the meaning of calculus and ideas behind the equations. This is where lots of teachers fall short.

Calculus really becomes interesting once you complete integral calculus and then take a calculus based physics class. Then you will appreciate these mathematical processes even more

I have respekt for math, though I'm not good at it, but I like to listen people talking about math... kinda strange ^-^

you're lucky because I didn't know what the "e" really was even when I finished university I. I suggest you read the betterexplained article about it too.

These two functions are very important in mathematics. The derivatives of these two important functions increase my knowledge of calculus.

All this man's lectures should be video taped & put on paid subscription. Why is the gov not funding this?? Why is MIT asking for hand-outs, we're already high on the stupid index!!
Oh I see the money went to the wars budget & Israel.
