- Simply a video of a 1CC game of SegaSonic the hedgehog on original Sega System 32 hardware; played with an original Sega Aero City trackball control panel.
Several videos will show you the game, but I have seen none actually showing how it looks like to play this game with the trackball.
This is not a particularly good run, as I take lots of damage, but it does'nt really matter as long as you collect rings to refill your health gauge.

Thanks for giving us all a historical insight into how this game was played on the original cab!
Thank you for your kind comment! ❤️
I'm really glad that you managed to escape and i'm really impressed and so proud of you
Thank you mate :)
@@Fredo63200 Sure thing
This is one of my favorite arcade games
I have no clue how you got your hands on this arcade board but I’m glad you have it, what a rare piece of sonic history you have!
Basically I bought it on ebay.
Owning the game is the easy part. It jusg takes patience and a bunch of money.
Wiring the trackballs and learning to play the game until you can 1cc it, that's the challenge that takes time and effort.
Love how when Sonic gets hit it sounds like he yells "Sh**".
That's because he does. 😂
GG Bro and man...playing it with track ball sure is tough even playing it with analog stick controller makes it even more tough then it used to be
This game has some amazing 2D sprite art.
yeah, amazing sprites and amazing animations as well !
GG :)
GO GO ALL OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS HUNTERS FROM BOTH WORLDS AND GENRES OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS AND PERFECTION CALLED OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS AND PERFECTION CALLED OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS
That’s like saying “Super NintendoMario Bros”.
It's a weird judicial and trademark story between Sega and Taito. At some point in the developpement of the game, Sega lost the trademark of the name "Sonic" due to Taito trying to protect their 1990 arcade game "Sonic Blast Man", but it was a claim that only applied to arcade games, not to home console or merchandising. So Sega decided to brand all their Sonic arcade games and japanese merch "SegaSonic". Thus SegaSonic the Hedgehog, SegaSonic Bros, SegaSonic Popcorn Shop etc.
HOW HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF THIS?
BECAUSE OF THE ALGORITHM! 🤣
Is this the only footage of this game on TH-cam that was from the original arcade machine and if so I am amazed and surprised at you're tremendous skill of playing this game while also being able to successfully escape from the last level
Thank you very much ! Well that's the original board and an original arcade panel, but not technically an arcade machine, but a supergun device to play it on a good old crt TV. I'm also quite surprised this video got so many views compared to all my other videos.
@@Fredo63200 oh I thought that this was being played on the actual original arcade cabinet but nevertheless though it was still impressive to see it being played this way even if it wasn't actually being played on the actual arcade cabinet itself
You know, arcade hardwares did give me a new idea
This game wasn't made for controllers, if you don't play it with the trackball you will have a pretty hard time
Even if it could be played with a controller, it would lose all purpose. It would not be enternaining at all.
I played it on an emulator with my Xbox controller and I was just fine
indeed you just go too fast on the mame default settings @@Fredo63200
Wait, you're telling me that the game itself can handle 3 player, yet the genuine arcade cabinet only had 2 trackballs?
Hello and thanks for the comment
Yes, the game has a 2 players mode, and a 3 players mode. You can see in this video that there is only room for one other player, as there is only one Push Start Button blinking; that's because I set my game in 2 players mode (in 3 players mode, there are 2 "Push start button" blinking).
Basically, the Aero City control panel was not built especially for this game, there are other trackball games released way before SegaSonic that can be played using it, and you can see there is room for an additional button that is not used for SegaSonic. This panel is made for generic arcade cabinets, and they are not large enough for 3 players to play comfortably. Additionnaly, there is also an official 2 players Astro City trackball panel that was released around the game's release date. At that time trackball games were kinda out of fashion so one can admit this panel was released for SegaSonic.
If you look at the game's manual, you can also see a picture of the game with a dedicated 3 players panel running in a Sega Swing cabinet. But to my knowledge, this is just some concept art, I have not seen proof that a guenuine 3 players panel actually exists.
Although, I have seen pictures of the game running on big dedicated 3 players wooden cabinets in the US (galloping ghost arcade), but I don't know if they are official Sega cabinets. I've been tol the game was not officially exported.
it was not there is left over art of a us look for eggman/robotnik@@Fredo63200
How many bits is this game’s graphics?
It's a Sega System 32 game, so I believe it's kinda self-explanatory.
@@Fredo63200 it’s not the 32x its an arcade game
@@torterratortellini6641 Yes, the arcade system is called System 32. It's not a 32X game, although a 32X port was considered at some point, it never got released on any console due to the specificity of the trackball controller.
@@Fredo63200 the reason I’m asking is because I’m trying to compile a list of every 32 bit sonic game including fangames and unreleased games
What happen the time zero to falied
Sorry, I don't understand your message :/
I know the worst bad end is when the time zero and finally you lost no use continues s
@@martinhernandez656 If the timer reaches 0 before you escape, you simply get a Game Over screen.
