I don't expect anyone to have the patience for my long drawn out arrangements but I hope with engaging visuals you might stick around to the bass melody in this track. it doesn't fully come in until after the bridge at around 2:48 and is one of my favorite things
Actually found the visuals a little distracting (unless they hold some kind of narrative). I absolutely loved how at :23 the high freq creeps in…stabbing and slow cerebral Velcro ripping. Aesthetically terrifying for me personally, more aggressive than I’ve heard from you in a while…like vipers following but with masochistic bite. Thanks for sharing your work here…I’m just an Everyman, but you elevate when you share what you build. Thanks.
I really have to say that this is the first time I’ve seen something so visual and otherworldly since I opened an illustration book by HR Giger. Amon Tobin has always delivered music from the unknown, and here we are presented with the most otherworldly, absurdly beautiful, surreal experience we can imagine. As usual, my words barely suffice to describe the sense of awe I feel. A huge thank you from what is probably one of your biggest fans in Sweden. ❤
one of the people that got me into making tunes too - in my case 'Nightlife' was the first encounter... (welcome to check my stuff of course, every ep different style, never even close to the genius Amon Tobin, but enjoyable nonetheless, I hope - enjoy)
You did it!!!! You had said a bit ago somewhere that you wanted to, I'm so very glad you did. This is one of my favorite songs of all time by any artist. I literally listen to it every night as I'm falling asleep, and usually while working. It brings such wonderful peace, like raindrops hitting skin.
WOW. You have taken Houdini to new levels. I've seen some incredible stuff come out of that software and this takes the cake. Inspiring so say the least. Something to be said for a musical artist making his own visuals. Keep it up, sir! You're killing it!
Omg so beautiful and so repulsive… totally alive and totally synthetic all at once! Thank you SHY1, it would be a completely different vibe but I hope you might consider doing Pale Forms Run By some day… these are getting sooo interesting 🙏
Amazing to see visuals put to it, currently hunting any and all vinyls from you be it Tobin, Two Fingers, Only Child Tyrant, Figueroa, anything, love from UK
We are all wrapped in the fabric of time and space, we are each in continual movement, perpeto mobile is right under our nose, each a coil always coiling, always uncoiling
That's the kind of sound that makes wonder "how does he do that", commercial VSTs or exotic Eurorack modules ? Creative coding or sticks and stones DIY? Not your typical factory presets and workstation demo song anyway. I don't want "tips and tricks" though, I want to understand the creative process.
Your music has been at the top of my list since finding Cujo in a record shop over 20 years ago, although most of your music is distinctly different its absolutely you.
Amon is perseverant in his attempts to outherod AI. In this particular case he even attempts to outherod the screen of the old windows player, yet nothing can beat classic. I'm a simple human, so I was always imagining here something like the cover of "Musick to play in the dark" by Coil. Though, thanks for nostalgic memories about windows xp
The visual aspect lags behind. I mean to say aurally all considerations seem to be met and filled out and the contradiction of unfulfilled visual attention is a distraction. My critique is that the visual would be better served to do less so that it can be done well. The artist appears to have the chops but wants to do everything all at once, pull back a bit; like where the figures coming up out of the clouds connect becomes an afterthought, color choice is a missed opportunity, lining up some relation specifically with the audio is another missed opportunity. Side by side the audio and visual do not meet, visual rhythms are more staid, lees changing in texture, light, dynamism generally my point should be clear by now. I wouldn't drop the video artist I think the first few projects should be a bit out of sync, that's how greatness is made. Keep pushing!
What you're pointing to aren't technical mistakes. Looks more obviously like artistic preference. Confidently saying that no color or not timing tightly are missed opportunities is a presumptuous and lofty position to take. Admittedly no more lofty than saying "aurally all considerations seem to be met and filled" 🤣
@@Infradoodle He asked me to comment and so I'm trying to be helpful. Everybody just saying "Yes" isn't helpful is it? We wouldn't be here if we didn't love the work. Critical analysis is your friend.

it’s spectacularly soothing and powerful all at the same time. the visuals match the flow of sound so well.

Pffffffft my 8+ min average classical music brain can handle your puny 3:40 min piece.
AND like it.
Very tasty.
Hah, I guess 3:40 is considered long now! I grew up on Orbital tracks :D
Amon Tobin is the David Lynch of music.
Sounds like you mean he will die soon
One potential issue with that is that David Lynch composed a lot of music himself, perhaps making David Lynch the David Lynch of music.
@@HaroldJohnson Lol true true. The sentiment holds even so
@ Agreed…though there’s one thing that bothers. Comparing/likening Mr. Tobin’s music to any one personality seems too limiting.
@HaroldJohnson dude it's just my opinion, man. Quit being weird.
This was the first song by mr. Tobin i ever heard many moons ago an have been hooked ever since.
Just an absolutely stunning work of art! If we don't someday get a physical disc collecting all these videos it would be a crime

yo👏
Amon, we all want to see you on stage again soon!
Weird, unique, and brilliant as ever from the guy who got me into producing electronic music in the first place.
one of the people that got me into making tunes too - in my case 'Nightlife' was the first encounter... (welcome to check my stuff of course, every ep different style, never even close to the genius Amon Tobin, but enjoyable nonetheless, I hope - enjoy)
Gorgeous - no one makes sound art (and now visual poetry) like you
Man this is wild. The style if your visuals is so distinctive. Beautiful and chilling somehow at the same time

Utterly stellar, and I love how the visuals can actually flow right into the video for Vipers Follow You, which came out years ago.
And artist of our times. Grateful to see his evolution over his career. Brilliant.
The chord progression is Tobin™
A twisting semi organic material shifting form as it changes composition, reflecting the artist and his sonic palette
This looks as majestic as it sounds !
ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES AAAAA
I hope you have a really good sub when you listen to this, it's literally body moving.
Omg so beautiful and so repulsive… totally alive and totally synthetic all at once!
Thank you SHY1, it would be a completely different vibe but I hope you might consider doing Pale Forms Run By some day… these are getting sooo interesting 🙏
So glad you are on the visual arts path as well so we can see your complete vision
thanks Amon, as always. This song has a beautiful bass feel that is just sublime. Great work

Amazing yeah perfect song

Crispy, beautifully and organically uncomfortable movements 😎🥰beautiful Amon 🖤thank u for sharing
houdini tobin is something I wasnt expecting
We are all wrapped in the fabric of time and space, we are each in continual movement, perpeto mobile is right under our nose, each a coil always coiling, always uncoiling
Thanks for sharing that your music sounds like to you. Grateful that you are exploring visuals like this. Would love to see what “Golden” looks like!
An auditory delight!
Your intricate focus is captivating to say the least.
Great trip.
Am I the only one getting an "Esther's" vibe from this clip?
Amazing masterpiece @Amon Tobin and @Shy1 🙏
Huh? Esthers is robots tho

Def not normal VST. You can't do this with normal VST. I heard he only uses analogue hardware. Controlled by software maybe?

I love the long drawn out arrangements and engaging visuals
The minds of Jean 'Moebius' Giraud and H.R. Giger meet somewhere out in the cosmos
I always pictured ripples in a pond under the moon light when I heard this song.
*WOW! Phenomenal visualization!*
There's something almost creature/serpent/coccoon like about this bizarro filament structure :) Great stuff!
Love this one. Brilliant work!
Amazing work! It's not how I would picture it, but I get it. The video is unique and inspiring!
SHY1 can make an incredible song even more incredible!! Amazers
we need a new spinter cell with amon score 😩😩😩
Like the tiny threads between real and imaginary worlds, music flows
Forms of Birth, evolution and finally descent jump to my mind, the way life works, a great accompany to an amazing piece of music ...
What a wonderful soundscapes
we all need more access to serotonin analogues.
Wonderful!

Delicate piece, good one.
One of my favorites. Amazing video. Saw you live in Paris for ISAM. Hope I'll see you again in my lifetime
It is really beautifull ontological piece
C'est beau... Une si douce mélancolie
Sounds, visuals, all together: so nice!
wow stunning! makes me think of mycelium - maybe new lifeforms evolving from it!
Great music and visuals

You and Richard Devine should collab and give us a historic effort.

To me This looks, sounds, and feels like an intermediary step in the trans-migration of the soul, whatever that might be if it is
I'm reminded of Akira Yamaoka.
