Speaking as a both a nurse of 16 years and as a human being, it truly pisses me off to hear medical providers accuse patients, especially children, of lying about illness simply because they can't figure out a diagnosis. Instead of saying "I'm sorry, I don't know what's wrong, but I'll send you to someone who can hopefully figure it out" - which is annoying but far more respectable - they say "I've tested for everything and there's nothing wrong". Never trust a provider like that becausethey'rethe ones with a God complex. I get that people do lie sometimes about illness, but it should not assumed
In college, I got a head injury and my roommate took me to the hospital hours later when I showed signs of a concussion. The doctor I saw mocked me and accused me of being drunk or on drugs. I didn't realize that my speech was slurred until he started to ask me why I was "talking like that". He even called my mother (emergency contact) and told her that I was probably just drunk. He left me alone often and refused to give me any respect until my drug test came back negative (he had me pee in a cup). Finally, they tested me for a concussion and he seemed angry that I was proven to have one.
@@SreaminToTheVoid WOWWW WTF?! That's atrocious!! I went through something kinda similar myself. I went to the ED at like 1 AM because my nurse instincts kicked in with what were fairly mild symptoms in general. I wasn't in agony but I KNEW that the nature of them likely meant 1 of 3 things: kidneys, gallbladder, or appendix. I had to tell my symptoms to about 20 different people over and over and my basic bloodwork and urine studies were normal so they treated me like a drug seeker. The X-ray tech barked at me because she was on call and had to traipse her ass out of bed at 3 AM for the likes of me but actually apologized when she saw my gallbladder was so full of stones it was about to rupture! Everyone, doctors especially, began treating me VERY differently after that. I'm sure they probably do see a lot of drug seekers, but, again, they shouldn't have assumed that was my deal just because an easy picture wasn't painted for them. Terrible bedside behavior and it's time to find a new career if your empathy for your patients is gone. Sorry for rambling!
Girl go watch Take Care of Maya because it happens to children practically every day in the hospital setting, with the children then being taken from the parents by social services.
@@darkwebgirlExactly what I thought of! The Take Care of Maya trial made me so mad. I’m glad they won the case but it’ll never undo the trauma that hospital caused to that entire family.
When I was 15 I went to the urologists because I was incontinent. She did a test and that test concluded I wasn't incontinent. After years of struggling I visited a different urologists because of an emergency. Explained everything and she told me she would've never done that test because "If someone comes to me saying they regularly piss themselves I believe that". I started crying, she comforted me and made an appointment to treat me.

There are plenty adults in that audience and if the tickets did not say 'no entry without child' they had absolutely 0 right to kick them from that venue.
@@darkwebgirl I think it’s moreso the fact they were actively recording them with mics and cameras. that’s generally not allowed at most concerts (phones are fine but most venues will kick you out on sight if they see a professional camera) but I completely understand why it’s seen as extra uncool at a concert of and for literal children being done by grown adults. children’s safety is much more important and they even knew and acknowledged that when being kicked out

I'm 18 years old and chronically ill. This summer, I was (falsely) told that I could have a life-threatening illness. Now we know it's not life-threatening, but they still don't really know what's wrong with me. I will definitely be purchasing something from Never Stop as I have been very lucky to be secure financially and have the resources to get the care that I need. I can't imagine what it must be like to be a CHILD and be in that situation without money. Thank you for doing what you do, Jake!

This is a great video! To answer some questions in the video. Yes there are child labor laws that are followed. Yes they do school. I’m the studio teacher that makes sure of all this. Yes, I saw you guys before the show and so wish you would have told our crew guy your story. I love what you are doing for people in need.

@@rosiejl2798there is only one touring group but sometimes things happen and there are swings. Just like Broadway productions you have swings that can step in at any moment 😁 but all the kids are great!!

i really wish my parents would take my health issues more seriously. it’s been over 3 years since i went to the ER for stomach pain, and it hasn’t gone away. they literally told me just to take laxatives for the rest of my life because my digestive system doesn’t work very well on it’s own. :,)
That doesn't even make sense as medical advice, because long-term use of laxatives cause dependency. You need higher and higher doses for it to keep working because your body gets used to it, and it also weakens your intestinal muscles since they're not having to be active to get it out. Weird for ER doctors to be recommending stuff randomly like this without assessing risks. Not medical advice, but my doctors told me to take stool softeners instead of laxatives. They do the same thing (as long as you drink a good amount of water), but without the dependency.
Unfortunately, incompetence among healthcare "professionals" is something you come across far too often as a chronically ill person/a person searching for a diagnosis. You just kinda have to hope you stumble upon a genuinely knowledgeable and empathetic doctor who is able to understand you properly. Everyone else seems to think that medicine ends at the limits of their own knowledge, and if they haven't heard of something then it must not exist.
I'm really sorry about your situation, it's horrible to have people not listen to you about your health issues - even more so if it's your parents. I really hope you find yourself in a position where you're able to pursue answers by yourself and get treated. Wishing you good health ✌️💖

I did a kidz bop show at 6 flags great America in Gurnee in like 2004 to 2006 or something and i shit u not they just reached out to a local dance studio and asked for kids lol. I wouldn’t be surprised if they still just cast local kids for the concerts.

As someone who got diagnosed with a rare autoimmune when I was 8, I’ve been in medical crisis for over a decade and seeing a nonprofit like this and Jack’s story is so comforting and hope-giving!
I know! I've been struggling to get a diagnosis my whole life and I'm 20 now. This is the first nonprofit I've heard of that will help people without diagnoses. Nobody talks about how hard it is to be sick when the doctors won't admit it / don't know what's wrong. I love it when TH-camrs use their platform to make a difference!

I really hope you see this comment. I have also been sick my whole life. I randomly watched this video after seeing it hang out in my recommended for a few weeks, and when you said "I've been sick my whole life," I had a knee-jerk eyeroll reaction assuming you were making a joke, since that's the kind of thing health people say when they've been sick for a few weeks... And then you told my whole life story back to me. I got sick when I was a kid and was misdiagnosed for a while with chronic migraine before eventually getting diagnosed with Lyme. My mom had to stop working to care for me full time and my parents drained their retirement to pay for different treatments. The thing that made me shed a few tears, though, is your mention of Lymelight--I never used their services, but when I was a teenager, I would hold bake sales to raise money for them. I only ever raised like two or three hundred each sale (not including expenses), and I remember one year going to a 5k fundraiser Lymelight was part of to give them an envelope of cash in person. I wanted to help other kids in a similar situation to me, and it's so incredibly touching to actually see someone who got help from them. I always looked back on those memories with a bit of pity, wondering if my little fundraisers even did anything, but now I know that teenage me was actually helping people out. :)

I thought this was just going to be another fun video. I didn't think I was going to cry from it. I've been on the street in a wheelchair for 2 years because of undiagnosed chronic health problems. When I was brought to the doctor as a kid for the pain and weakness they did a few xrays and said they couldn't find anything wrong. my 13 year old sister just got a diagnosis and started going to physical therapy because of my health problems and now I can use hers to get myself taken seriously. Being a homeless ex drug addict (the homelessness and drug addiction were a result of the untreated health problems) makes it next to impossible to get taken seriously. Even if you can't walk. Even if you have *gangrene* in your feet. I'm lucky to still be alive and every day is a fight but as badly as I've wanted to, I've never stopped. I just applied for the assistance he's providing and I'm praying... This is the first nonprofit I've heard of that will help people without diagnoses. I love seeing TH-camrs use their platform to make a difference in a real way.
