I liked the video itself, but I would have appreciated it if you showed the steps after provoking the rebels in text format for the purpose of clarity. I found myself pausing and trying to figure out how what the voiceover was mentioning related to the onscreen events of releasing/re releasing yourself. Or like a short summary of the key steps in the description :) overall a well done video, great work!
Hey guys confirmed that the strategy does in fact work in 1.35. Its very rng reliant, as you have to have a three province minor that can really only be orochoni bc of the coring distance. I suggest once forming a pirate republic, no cb ainu in the north of japan on hokkaido, vassalize them and integrate them while ur reform progress ticks up. When u have enough reform progress dev the ainu state (hokkaido) up to twenty, sell south sakhalin to nivkh or whatever tribal guy remains there, and the kurils to ashikaga or the shogunate if you can (if you cant, no worries). Either way, put your capital in the province where the rebels will spawn (the highest manpower province in the rebel menu) and then provoke the rebels in the same month, the rebels will instant siege your capital (1 siege tick) then they will move to another two provinces. On the third province's full siege, make sure to do the release trick that occurs at the end of the month. Best advice i can give to getting it on time is to wait until you see the ainu or orochoni nation actually on the map and press it as fast as you can; that way the nation is guaranteed to not have republican government forms, as it is a rebel released nation.
Edit: you probably dont have to give away southern sakhalin to do this, it would be better if you didnt anyways as its your land connection into Manchuria
I had all of China as Oirat by this point in my ongoing attempt at Oirat->Yuan->Mongols WC and it's looking dicey at 1670...so this might be a bit much for me. Great video though I thought the editing and voicework was absolutely fine, in no way seems like a first try
the exploid worked first time. But in my game I have a huge Jianzouh surrounding me. The moment I released myself as Ryuku again they startet a war against me and my overlord... so game over. It took the rebels 2 months to siege down my capital because you start with a garrison of 100 man. First month they drop below 100 and second month they fall. I also could not immediately start a war against my overlord because i released myself as Ryuku with -3 Stab and no mana. I found it really hard to follow your instructions, maybe take a little more time to explain some details. Anyway, nice strategy!! I will give it a try again.
I can’t seem to get this to work. If I go too early, I end up as Orochoni as a Republic with all 3 provinces. If I got right after the break, Orochoni breaks free and is tribal with 2 provinces but somehow I stay playing Ryuku, an OPM landlocked pirate republic.
I can't seem to be able to reproduce this since in all my games Jianzhou eats the province of Yaran, allies Oirats and becomes tributary of Ming, becoming absolutely untouchable. It seems that I don't have the range to eat any other province than that one.
You can take provinces outside of your colonial range by using vassals. Pick on the weakest tribe you can reach (Nivkh and Ainu almost never get any allies) and vassalise them. You will be able to either seize land from them or conquer provinces next to them. Any provinces will do as long as they are Jurchen (I think other cultures would work too but Jurchen gives banners).
@@coldheartmonkey154 that's what I'm trying, but Sibe has conquered almost all of Manchuria except for Jiangzhou cores. This makes it so that they must be fully annexed or else any rebels that spawn will be Sibe rebels. I guess I need to truce break 3 times or otherwise restart the campaign
@@Tradedark are you sure it's only their rebels that will spawn? All you need is rebels from any country that you can also release. If lots of tribes are annexed then you only need one of their cores to release them and you should get rebels from them.
I could release Orochoni but rebels in their provinces were Sibe. And if I understood the guide correctly, the nation that I should get rebels from must not exist in order for the exploit to work. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm trying to understand it
@@Tradedark yes that's correct but are you sure the only rebels you can get are Xibe ones? Have you tried conquering land with other cores on it. It doesn't have to be Orochoni you release. If Xibe are the only rebels you can possibly get then yes you will have to annex them.
Why is it that after I have released myself as Orochoni for the first time I am a duchy and not a tribe? Is it because I had more than 3 provinces? Also I was attacked sadly just before the rebels could break my country and after I did the releasing, Orochoni rebels didn't immedieatly break Ryukyu, even though all of his remaining provinces had been occupied by them. Is it because of the war?

After releasing and playing as Orochoni, eating the province of my former-self Ryukyu, I cannot seem to release Ryukyu (like you did at 4:10). The option is not available "You have no subject whom you can release", yet all my provinces (the same three as in your video) have both Orochoni and Ryukyu cores, are Jurchen and Tengri. Anything I am missing?
@@wouterborgmann611 Two things could be the problem here. Did you definitely make Jurchen your primary culture as Ryukyu and are you sure Ryukyu no longer exists?
@@wouterborgmann611 if u didnt swap culture to jurchen, then u wont be able to release ryukyu because nations can only be released from provinces that are cores and in the same culture group of that province. which is why u can release syria in rahba (a mashriqi province, cuz its in same culture group)
not working for me. even in the case i get everything done i cant relesase while breaking even if the window is open i cant confirm. also its extrem inconsistent most hords way stronger than me all the time very rare to find a windo to take land and even if i do. no allys no army means they all insta declare war on me.
Thanks for the video but I cannot seem to replicate this. I have rebels that are going to break my country, but as the date slides from November 30 to December 1, the country immediately breaks on December 1 so there is no option to press 'c' before that happens.
I managed to become Orochi and a horde but when I conquer ryukyu and annex them i cant release and play as them. I dont know what i got wrong. If someone solved this problem pls help me.
If you can get a run where there's a tribe that doesn't have allies who outnumber you more than 6 to 1, this might work. So far all of the tribes have strong allies well before I can afford enough light ships to hoist the black flag. (Or they've been vassalized, which is just as bad.)
And with a little more experimenting, if I click C as the month changes but before a dialog pops up, I become Orochoni as a Republic. Not quite the idea, but worth a few more tries.
This is happening because your rebels did not spawn in your capital. They spawned in the other two territories so when you confirm, your entire country is all occupied.

How do you take on Ming after ditching him as your overlord, but attacking Pangasinan - who is a tributary of Ming?
I showed that clip out of order. Do it after attacking Pagnasinan.

I tried to do it in 1.36, but I got a republican Orochoni, not a tribal one. Idk if I did something wrong or if it got patched.
Oh, I did it apparently before the month tick.
1.37 i made horde orochoni. and then i can't turn back ryuku

Took a few more failures and another Orochoni republic, but eventually it worked as advertised.

This is happening because your rebels did not spawn in your capital. They spawned in the other two territories so when you confirm, your entire country is all occupied.
Good theory but you speak really fast, it's hard to process all the information you give in such a fast manner.
Just go to Mexico, Get their religion. reform of a horde. be a horde. Perfekt setup for a One-Tag. Or did they changed that?
