Thank you Mark. The cover art on the Alexander Kent novels are beautiful! Although I read a fair amount of Douglas Reeman, I never read any of the Bolitho novels. This must and will be rectified.
You've got a great copy of Passage to Mutiny there. I have the same hardback original but the dust jacket has long since been lost. Great to see it again. Great collection, sir.
Fun fact..my Great Great Grandfather was an Admirals Cox'n on HMS Winchester called Richard Bolitho from Cornwall. He obviously never made it to Admiral, but apparently Alexander Kent saw the stained glass window in our Church and adopted the name for his books
Also I'm sorry to correct you..but the pronunciation of my family name would sound more like Boliiithough ..stretch it out a bit and slur it out a bit because if you go to Falmouth. everyone slurrs a bit haha
For what it's worth, I've made a sideline of reviewing nautical fiction and nonfiction. The reviews, if you're interested, are at rambles.net/all_at_sea.html#books ... I'd love to hear some feedback! I've written up most of the Bolitho series you mention here.
I enjoy books as art so really love and admire those covers.
I read Surface with Daring when I was quite young, it was amazing
